Very professional and have put in place Covid19 measures that made us both feel very safe, or as safe as you can feel in these tssting times. Food was excellent....proper pub grub. Great service...thank you

We had booked this place a few days in advance, and turned up a bit early but they had run out of some food choices when we got there, so it was Beef or Chicken, and to be fair it tasted ok at the time, but the vegetables were "al Dente" which is not to my liking, I did ask for them to be cooked a bit more, but no luck. But that wasn't really the problem, my wife and myself were ill the next day with "tummy trouble" which is strange considering I had the beef and she had the chicken! This meal was the only food we had that day and I can only assume it was the food that gave us the problem. I rarely give negative reviews and wasn't going to do so about this meal, but a friend asked about the meal and was thinking of going here, so I felt I had to say what I thought. Maybe we were just unlucky, I don't know, but I wouldn't go back and risk it again.

Extremely welcoming and traditional country pub with beautifully clean and tidy bedrooms. Dog friendly and staff were very accommodating to our every need. The garden was one of the best we’ve seen and parking was ample. A traditional local with locals enjoying it, but also so welcoming to visitors. We stayed three nights and ate in the restaurant for two. We were served great pub grub for reasonable prices. Breakfast was fab with a great selection and we were able to have our eggs cooked to perfection. I’ll recommend to friends. The road is noisy if you’re not used to it, but our ear plugs helped us to get lovely comfortable nights sleep as we knew we were staying over a pub. The noise from the bar ceased by the time we turned in anyway and it’s what’s expected from a public house. Linda, the landlady and her team have certainly worked hard to bring the Crown up to scratch. We will return if we’re in the area again.

We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing outside but under cover. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the view is lovely. Distancing measures were well thought out and executed. The food coming out of the kitchen looked lovely so we will definitely go back and try a meal
