This is a small hotel with friendly staff. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The bedroom contained a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, chocolates and biscuits. The bathroom was equipped with a heated towel rail. There was under bed storage which was very useful. At breakfast the food was delicious and the coffee excellent. The service was excellent. There is plenty of free parking. The hotel is easy to get to and is set in a beautiful canal side location.
What can I say it was amazing Kirsty was so helpful and made the room look so good I payed exta for some balloons a banner rose petals and swans towels it was perfect for me and my girlfriends anniversary I can’t thank the team enough we will be back the food was so good too
Well priced 2 night stay in February for two people and a dog. The room is comfortable and clean but could do with a bit of new furniture which was looking a bit tatty. However this did not affect our stay at all. We ate in the hotel on our first night. I must admit we were a bit disappointed in the meal but this did not spoil our evening. We sat in the back room which was cold and bleak. After dinner We sat by the fire and got into conversation with some of the local patrons who were very interesting. Breakfast was good. All in all a very pleasant stay. I expect we will return soon.
We booked a three night stay with the hotel, taking our Staffie along. The room was more than adequate - a large and comfortable bed, nice shower room, wardrobes, well kept. The f ood was extremely good value. Don't go expecting haute cuisine, this is very much standard pub fare - steaks, burgers, pie of the day, fish and chips, scampi, lamb shank. It is very well prepared and promptly served. Very good full English breakfast. Nice small bar with reasonable prices, good real ales and very friendly locals. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, especially to our dog, who was fussed by most people in the pub during the stay! At £57 per night and the dog free, this is great value for money.
We had a fabulous one night stay. Super friendly, helpful staff, fab evening meal and breakfast. Highly recommended. The room was clean and tidy and bed comfy. Nice additional touches too. Will definitely stay again, really handy to visit Horsey Gap.
