Lovely comfortable room, good night's sleep, with a charming pub next door. As a solo traveller, I loved it! The rates were very reasonable which made it a good option to stay while working in nearby Canterbury. It is easy to find on the main street of the village and there is a good car park. Finally, it's such a beautiful location.

To the waitress who has "years in the industry", the customer, in your opinion may not always be right, although i was, but they pay your wages! I ordered fish and chips, and the fish ,in my opinion, was not properly cooked. It was cold and glassy. I returned it to be told by waitress that the chef has put temperature sensor in fish, and it was cooked. She returned to me with this information and was quite patronising in telling me that I was in the wrong, but as a "gesture of good will" they would change it, and that her seval years in the industry( I presume as a waitress) shes learned that the customer isnt always right, and tells them! I've several years on her, and have visited many more restaurants of much higher standard to the Woolpack, and never ever been spoken to like that. I asked for a glass of water, which was slammed down on the table. I think a course in customer care/service is in order for the young lady in question. I gave her a decent, cash tip, which I assume will be shared and declared, to see if it would raise a smile..and it did..sort of! And no..you won't be seeing me again.

Everything was excellent, the decor, the food, the staff and the service. I can’t remember the last time I ate out and enjoyed it so much. Thank you, you’ve done a great job with your new pub. Will definitely be back with our 2 dogs who are allowed inside as well.

Spent NY eve here as we were visiting friends. Room was spacious and quiet enough. The pub downstairs is very nice, and we had a good breakfast as well. All in all good value for money, and I would probably come back and stay here when I am in town visiting those friends.

Very impressed with the decor and atmosphere. Service was unfriendly and 1 of us has an allergy to tomatoes and this was not passed on to the kitchen. The landlord spent time with the table next to us but did not acknowledge we had an issue. Poor

Chilham is such a Beautiful village. The Woolpack Inn is a nice place but it feels very crowded. The owners are very Unfriendly! What a shame. We are not going back there. Luckily there is another Pub in the neighborhood

Amazing food!, this Hotel is under new Management and we could not fault it at all. Room was lovely, we then ate in the Restaurant and wasn't disappointed, I had the duck and my partner had the Haddock, both dishes were so tasty, for dessert we both had the Brownie which was delicious. Service was top class too, this Hotel we highly recommend.

Enjoyable lunch during the week. I had a steak & stilton pie. The steak melted in the mouth and the pastry was top notch. Waiting staff were friendly with a good sense of humour. The new owners have done a good job on the place and the Christmas decorations looked fantastic. The plants were a nice touch too. Finished the meal with the 3 cheese cheese board. The brie was fantastic and not straight out of the fridge with loads of nice accompliments. 2 x 2 course lunch with a couple of beers each £60 which for the quality of the food, comfort of the restaurant and service, I thought very reasonable. It was the 1st time in 30 years that I have visited the Woolpack, I can safely say, I won't be leaving it another 30 years! Thanks to the staff for your service that day.

£3:50 for lime and soda, on ya bike, when asked if that correct was told, yep! With a shrug, shame really I would used this pub more often, it look a nice place, I’ve been in more up market places and have not been charged this much, perhaps it just me being a non drinker.

Booked this hotel on 4th October, for myself and my 11 year old son, as we were attending a party in Chilham. I was told at the time of booking that the hotel was under new ownership and that they were carrying out significant refurbishment, but told that all the work would be finished before our stay at the end of November. Heard nothing from the hotel, so we made out way down to Chilham, planning to check in as early as possible so that we could relax in front of the fire with some food, drinks and our books for the afternoon before getting ready for the party. Arrived at the hotel about 2pm (after a 160 mile drive), only to be told that our room and one other weren't useable as the bathrooms had blocked drains. Different members of the owners family then gave us differing reports, the mother said that we could have our room FOC as long as we used the bathroom in the staff accommodation, the father said to wait and maybe they could get it fixed, but we definitely couldn't use the staff bathrooms..... meanwhile I sat on my phone hunting for a hotel that could I could book for the night as a back up. We were given a free coke each while we waited, but then they told us that there was no way we were going to be able to stay at the hotel. They did however, contact a B&B close by and get us a room, but they didn't serve food, or drinks or have a roaring fire for us the read or books in front of as planned. The father did offer to escort us to the B&B and pay for the room, rather than giving us a refund, which I thought was a bit strange, so I checked on the B&B website and their rooms were £30 cheaper, so I decline the kind offer and had a full refund instead. Whilst they were very apologetic, and I fully appreciate that this was just 'one of the this things', the way they handled the situation was not good. They should have notified us as soon as they had a issue, so that we could have found somewhere else for the night, they should have decided what to do before everyone giving us different solutions and then it would have been nice to be offered some sort of compensation for ruining our weekend, but nothing was offered, not even some free food (as the B&B didn't do food). I'm not someone who shouts and screams, I was perfectly amiable and understanding, but alas I think this worked against me, perhaps if I did cause a scene I may have been given a better resolution. Not a professional outfit unfortunately no matter how much they tried to convince me that they were 'old hands' in the trade. A real shame.
