We camped in Ellen's Meadow for the Harvest & Cider Festival and could not have had a better weekend. The meadow is great for a 1 or 2 night stay (although it could do with more than 1 toilet and the washing up facilities are pretty basic!). The wheelbarrows to get your camping kit from the car to your pitch were a nice touch. The festival itself was well organised, with great live music and good food. We tried the pizzas - amazing - and the butchers sausages - yum. What really made the weekend for us though were the people that work there. Everyone was unfailingly friendly and helpful and seemed happy to be there. One guy went the extra mile and even rustled us up a cheeseboard when they ran out of pizza dough on a busy Saturday evening. We will definitely be back!

Me and my girlfriend went here for a weekend camping trip in the self pitch camping. Overall the site was very nice, and in the mornings you get to be woken up by the local farm animals and even the monkeys from Howletts nearby. The barn itself where the main bar/restaurant/ reception was beautiful as an old restored thatched barn. And the food and drinks there were excellent for quality and quantity with a variety of different pizzas to sample. Whilst the local area is also very pretty with walks through the farm’s orchards and vineyards on your footstep, and for younger audiences Howletts Zoo is less than a 5 minute drive from the site. The people working there were all very friendly with excellent service and hospitality. The only thing I noticed was the facilities available were somewhat limited with only one toilet and I can imagine when busy it could get a tad overwhelmed especially during their occasional festivals. Overall it was a lovely weekend and would gladly go again

We booked for 2 nights family camping. This place appealed as close to home. We booked a self pitch tent in the camping field. Firstly I was worried we could only just get our tent pitched in the middle of our pitch without the guy ropes encrouching on next doors pitch. I was suprised with a lack of basic facilities in the camping area, only one porta loo for 23 tents. I noticed they were adding pitch signs when I arrived in the Friday so I wonder if they have recently expanded? The washing facilities were the most basic I have seen, basically just running cold water, surrounded by a fence, no roof to brush your teeth under or wash your pots up in the rain. Also two bins only which were rammed by the sunday morning. The Barn is lovely and a draw to family camping with games for the kids (jenga, dominos) and food available if you dont fancy cooking. We ordered pizza and loaded fries- at over £8 per portion for loaded fries we expected a decent portion. The food was overpriced, and felt like you were being exploited and paying over the odds for trendy presentation. They had put on a festival which was not planned when we booked, they gave us free entry- otherwise we would not have been able to use the barn facilities. This added to toilet demand, with only one male and one female toilet at the barn, you then had to que at both the barn and campsite toilets. The morning after was not pleasant. You can hire a fire pit, £15 for the pit, several eco firelighters and 2 logs-the full kit, and £10 for additional logs. We went home and restocked with our own logs as felt ripped off-again.

We went for the pitch you own tent option. Lovely barn lovely surroundings, however 1 porter toilet which wasn't maintained, no light at night and 1 toilet at the barn, if you have your own tent you are not allowed to use the showers . The washing up area was under some trees with no roof or hot running water . It's over priced for what you're getting and we will not be returning very disappointing

We spent the bank holiday weekend here. Pitched our own tent but you can Glamp!!! We loved it, toilets in the main barn, where we were camping it was a portaloo (cleanest one I’ve ever been in) again the main glamping there is toilets and showers, we were happy with where we were though. Staff were kind and courteous also very helpful. There is a track that you can walk along through the orchards etc, you can also see the animals from Howletts through the trees which also was nice. Back to the barn, food is great! Pizza especially, drinks reasonably priced selling Kentish Pip (they make it there) a great weekend had By all and thoroughly enjoyed!

What a fab place. My sisters and I booked one night in the bell tent. Great bed & bedding. Also a big shout out to Jack, great front of house member of staff, so welcoming and helpful. Sitting outside the barn with pizza, lager and a delicious cheese board was perfect. Can’t wait to return.

Our stay at The Barn was in one of the pre-erected bell tents behind The Barn itself. What a wonderful setting. Deceptively approached up a single track to what looked like large farm yard the Barn is stunning. Simply restored to provide a bar and bbq eatery the building is immense but feels very welcoming. The greater part of this is the attitude and approach of Nathan and his team. A friendly and relaxed character covers hospitality in which nothing is too much trouble. The added appeal of great food and the Woolton own brand cider and wine with Canterbury beers made the bank holiday stay one we will not quickly forget and hopefully will return in the near future. Only small quibble is the double futon in the bell tent needs a thicker mattress for full comfort.
