We've been coming to Nethergong for many years now and always spend a week during the summer. It is a beautiful location and never too busy or crowded. It is popular with groups - and we usually have one weekend of the stay when our brothers join us (and we sit up late next to the campfire). It is family-run site and the owners are really friendly; nothing is too much trouble for them. There are on-site activities (kids' play area, fishing pond) as well as a small cafe/shop and wood-fired pizza oven in action at weekends. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Locally - there are a couple of pubs within walking distance, plus plenty of cycling routes. Short drive to Canterbury and lots of coast line.
A wonderful, magical 4 days - what a clean, private campsite this is. We had two young girls with us and they just loved climbing the trees and exploring the ponds and grounds. Lovely staff, considerate other campers - we were in the wooded area which was lovely and cool during a heatwave!
We came back to our favourite campsite for 4 nights during the May half term. Camped in the chicken run area. Some noticeable changes from last summer with some trees missing. We didn’t venture too far from the campsite our whole stay except to go to Tankerton for fish and chips on the last night. The pizzas didn’t disappoint on our 2nd night and we hired a rowing boat for 30 mins which the twins loved trying to do. Sadly our next trip was cancelled due to bad weather (but who wants to camp in the rain anyway or deal with packing a wet soggy tent away!) We’ll be back next year for sure
We have just got back from our third annual stay at Nethergong. We were a group of families. The owners were wonderfully accommodating. Different families have different needs after all ! The site gets more beautiful every very time we go and we don’t mind where we go as it’s all so gorgeous. The new fishing lessons were a hit- the kids loved them and the guy that taught them (Patrick?!) was so patient with the kids- well worth the money. More memories made and we can’t wait to go back. Thanks to Christine, Jed and family! We now have a Nethergang!
We’re repeat visitors at Nethergong - that probably says it all. A beautiful site, well managed with lots of room. No hook ups, no marked pitches, just people enjoying a lovely location. Lots to do nearby - although treat Canoe Wild with caution - and near enough to the coast to visit the beach. Pizza van is great and Just Eat will bring you a curry from Canterbury if you prefer! We did loads of new walks this year so plenty to do even for a repeat return visit. The family who run the site are just lovely - we really look forward to seeing them every year and the work hard to accommodate requests. Book ahead - capacity is down due to covid. No fridges this year also due to the big C but freezing ice blocks worked ok.
