Just home after a 2 night stay, we stayed in The Attic which is one of the top floor suites. Firstly the check in was great, very informative regarding the new rules post lockdown. We had to book a slot for breakfast which I also thought was a great idea.
We were given the option of housekeeping which we declined (another nice touch), hand sanitisers everywhere. All in all very reassuring.
Lovely location, 5 min walk to Old Hunstanton beach which is just stunning.
The only gripe I have about the room is that there is no plug socket near the dressing table. Aside from that it is a gorgeous room and we will stay there again.
We booked dinner as part of a dinner B&B deal too. We went down for a pre dinner drink and we’re lucky to get a seat inside on the sofa’s. They were fully booked for dinner, and when we checked in were told to ask in the evening if we could sit at a prebooked table until it is required but were told we could only sit outside or on the sofa’s. I am sure this will evolve as everyone gets used to it.

The food is fantastic, 3 courses included.
Breakfast also really tasty.

It is clear that everyone is getting used to a new way of working, but this did not detract one bit from a fabulous stay.

Good sized comfy room (with both bath and separate shower and walk in dressing room), good comfortable dining areas in the bar, restaurant and a outside area. The food was well cooked and tasty and the location is very close to the beach (5 minute walk) so all our main requirements well catered for. They were also dealing well with the difficulties that Covid presents with a one way system in operation.

What took the edge off was a couple of things: a number of mistakes (meal times agreed by email incorrectly noted, wrong drinks served, 45 minute wait for our ordered breakfasts to arrive) together with food shortages (ran out of fresh fruit salad at breakfast, and again with two of the evening specials on a fairly limited menu). But secondly a really surly young blonde waitress in desperate need of customer service (re)training. Her attitude peaked at 9.15 on the first night with a “you’ll have to order desert now cos the chef wants to go home early”. If it was just us I would presume we must have done something to upset her, but the table next to us were equally taken aback at her general approach to service, which unfortunately was consistently poor throughout our four meals at the hotel.

That said, the rest of the staff were very helpful and any mistakes rectified quickly. But if you are charging these prices, there really is no excuse for running out of limited food choices or allowing one individual to give such poor service.

My wife and I stayed at the lodge for a weekend. Upon arrival the member of staff at reception was warm and welcoming. Our room was a good size and overall pleasant. The lodge has ample parking out the front and to the side, it has a large bar area with separate bar area. Our room was above the entrance, however this didn’t cause too much noise and didn’t bother us. The bar has a decent selection of beers/wines and cocktails.

The best bit about the lodge is how close it is to the beach, it is a short five minutes! Also, opposite the lodge is a walled public playground, great for kids if you’ve had to bring them!

The lodge is also very dog friendly, I don’t know if they can stay in rooms though.

I would thoroughly recommend the lodge, it is worth paying more than other nearby hotels for a more pleasant and relaxing environment. The breakfasts are superb, fresh coffee and a great assortment of hot/cold things to have. I can personally attest to the quality of the full English and the smoked salmon.

We also dined in the restaurant which delicious.

The lodge gets my thumbs up.

Just spent a lovely few days here. We have stayed here before several times, the last one just before the COVID lockdown

First of all, the Lodge has worked really hard to maintain the wonderfully relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, whilst implementing very COVID-secure changes. Hand sanitiser dispensers are prominently positioned and are automatic, much preferable in my view. There is a clear one way system. Breakfast and dinner are booked in times lots and in either bar or restaurant to ensure tables are well spaced.

Then the food! The new autumn menu is really something! Some really creative combinations, not for the sake of it, but to add to the flavour and texture of the food, which as ever, is predominantly locally sourced.

I was really pleased to see that as well as the fantastic wine list, there were some nice low/non-alcohol choices too, for those of us doing #stoptober or just reducing drinking for health reasons.

Well done The Lodge! We will be back as soon as we can.

Always love a trip to Hunstanton and this time it was for my birthday so we decided to book a night away rather than just a day trip. We wanted to go towards Old Hunstanton for a relaxed vibe and for pleasant walks whatever the weather. The Lodge was in the ideal location for this, with only a few minutes walk from the picturesque cliffs and beach and a pleasant mile walk or short drive to the main area (cafes/arcades etc) The room/en suite was modern, spacious, thoroughly clean throughout, the bed was comfortable and the room in general had a nice relaxed feel to it. Breakfast was at good times, with hot and cold choices. Would definitely book for a roast dinner in the future if in the area again.

Fabulous stay at The Lodge! Great New Year’s Eve party! Room was nice we stayed in the garden shed that allows dogs so perfect for us and our puppy. I will say that the floors were in need of a good scrub! The bath and shower were lovely- I would love to see you get rid of the mini plastic toiletries! Just put a dispenser on the wall! Breakfast was nice apart from the pancakes! They were like muffins! And the bacon should be crispy streaky bacon that’s served with pancakes in my personal opinion. Location is great, didn’t like the fact you had to pay for car parking on top! £210 is a lot for one night! That’s not included the tickets for the evening party. Overall a very pleasant eat stay. Staff were all very lovely, slight mis communication in regards to timings, was told I had to arrive before 2pm for afternoon tea so we rushed from cambridge, when we arrived was told it doesn’t start until 3?? Also evening food was told started at 7.30 then told it was 8.30?? Room rates dropped dramatically down to £70 New Year’s Day, we would of stayed another night but no dog friendly room was available. I’m sure we will return. Well done to all the staff they worked until 2am+ and were serving breakfast at 8am!

Thank you for your review, I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and our New Years Eve party. The whole have all worked very hard over the festive period so I will pass on your comments. I have passed your comments on to the head chef regarding breakfast, our pancakes are advertised as scotch pancakes not the crepe ones perhaps you have misinterpreted, however the bacon should have been crispy. We do not charge for car parking; I think maybe there was just a misunderstanding when you made your booking originally. We are always looking to improve and become greener so thank you for your comments regarding the toiletries, we are working closely with Natural Soap Company to find a suitable alternative to come away from plastic bottles. With regards to your package our New Years Eve package in a Comfy and Cosy room is £265.00 for the night. This includes 2 tickets to our New Years Eve party with a buffet served from 8.30pm, afternoon tea from 3-5pm and a disco until 1am which was advertised in our brochure. Followed by breakfast on New Years Day. Our prices reflect that of what you were receiving on one of the busiest nights of the year. We did reduce your room package as you had already purchased tickets. A late availability rate was released on New Year’s Day in line with how many available rooms we had and also what other properties in the local area were charging this was in fact £79 per night in a Comfy and cosy bedroom. I can only apologise you were informed or incorrect timings we will ensure all our staff are aware or correct timings in future. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you and your puppy in the future. Kind Regards Ashleigh

Spent a night here with my mum, lovely location and premises. Staff were friendly and the room was clean. I do feel the room was overpriced though, they are lacking on some attention to detail for the £140 a night price tag. We asked for a twin but we had to wait for this to be sorted on arrival, guy did offer us a complimentary tea though. Room is small and fairly standard. Room keeping barged in our room early doors as they said they thought we’d checked out and then the window cleaner started to clean the windows of our room. Breakfast service was slow but pleasant and friendly and tasked good. All in all a lovely stay and would recommend but just a bit pricey.

Thank you for your review and I am pleased overall you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry that there were a couple of niggles, it seems that reception thought you had checked out and therefore the message that the room was vacant went out to housekeeping and the window cleaner - to re assure you these things would not normally happen. We do hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards, Gavin

I have stayed in hotels all over the world but the service I received here is as good as any. From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble for any of them and all were very personable and friendly. All the were also extremely friendly towards our dog.
We had breakfast every morning of our 7-night stay and 4 evening meals. Every dish served at every mealtime was of a very high quality and nothing was left by the adults or children.
The two courtyard rooms we stayed in served our needs very adequately and were very reasonably priced. The location is very handy for the beach with a good evening atmosphere in the bar.
What truly makes the place though are the staff who seem to enjoy their work making every guest feel at home. Will be returning the same time next year. 😀

Helpful friendly staff and lovely room. This was our second visit to The Lodge and was worth all the rearranging of dates.
The bedroom was well decorated with a very comfortable bed and walk in shower as well as a bath (room 10). Although it was on the road side of the hotel there was no traffic noise to disturb a good nights sleep.
The team at The Lodge all worked very hard to make our stay a positive experience. They were all friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The young man who dealt with our check in (going to ask housekeeping of the room was ready as we arrived a little early) and sorted my TV problem did a great job and seemed to be able to deal with any question we had.
Would definitely go back but I think we need to borrow a dog next time as everyone we met while out walking seemed to have a canine walking companion!
Thank you for a lovely mini break

Enjoyed a fantastic stay in one of the Courtyard rooms, a quiet, well presented area towards the back of the hotel. The room (Bottle Store) was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had everything we needed - inc plenty of wardrobe space, a well-stocked tea/coffee tray, lovely toiletries, and piping hot water was always readily available.
Service was consistently excellent. All the staff made me feel extremely welcome, and went out of their way to accommodate any special requests. Nothing was too much trouble.
There was a great selection of hot and cold dishes for breakfast. Dinners were also delicious; in addition to the regular menu, there were several daily specials available for each course.
I've already booked a return stay!
