Stopped here for dinner and an overnight stay with friends in July and had just a very excellent time. An extremely comfortable and spacious room and we all had a super meal in the evening. The food was well presented and perfectly cooked. It was all very very good. To top this off we had the best service all afternoon and evening. Extremely enjoyable and we will be back!!

Booked a room for 1 which was cheap enough for 1 night whilst working away. Tiny chalet room. Two comments; Poor sleep due to cheap, springy mattress and I could her the guy in the adjacent chalet room clearing his throat and he was, very poor sound insulation!

Spotlessly clean and very well organised. Gorgeous countryside setting. Only thing (and not a criticism) is that the restaurant was closed when I stayed due to Covid and nobody nearby via Just Eat would deliver. If you could leave a list of places nearby to eat/order deliver from that would be great. Fab wifi signal considering how remote you are and was wonderful to be woken by the pheasants. Very comfy bed and pillows and terrific power shower which I was not expecting. Would definitely recommend but perhaps bring a picnic :-)

Booked a single room but got the bonus of a good sized double with spacious walk in shower in own little wooden lodge. Kettle and tea & coffee provided, iron, hairdryer. Adequate wardrobe & bedside cupboards for short stay. No table or chairs so had to prop up on the bed all evening to work on iPad. 2nd day the staff put a chair in the room after I asked. No rugs, but warm, very clean and good value for money. Good location to drive on to see Anish Kapoor at Houghton Hall and Holkham nature reserve from London - an hour away. Covid safe option due to own door and care of staff. Reassuring. Parking right outside. Nearby RAF base with noisy jets all day, but area quiet and rural at night. Notice they have a bar and cafe and hospitality building in normal times, as it was, took my own food, flasks, packet soup etc. which was just as well as their facilities were closed. TV and WiFi fine, no EE phone signal. Would stay again for trips to Norfolk.

We had stayed here last year & had a good experience, so we booked again and brought the dog. The room we requested was unavailable due to being re-vamped. The girl said that she has upgraded us to a larger room and it was still ok to bring the dog. Upon arrival we were informed that there is no house keeping during Covid. The room we were given was a lot smaller than the original one we had booked. As the new room was at ground level, the mud & leaves were always coming inside every time the door was opened. A dustpan & brush would have been good so we could have cleaned it ourselves seeing that there was no house keeping. No food available due to a kitchen fire. Nowhere to put a case. Shower goes from hot to scalding. No adjustment on radiator ( either on full or off) with the slightest of movement. GONE DOWNHILL SINCE LAST YEAR.
