A family of 5, we stayed for a week over October half term in the Langhill Cottage, which is at one end of the row (the owners' living at the other end). We agreed that this has to be the cleanest holiday let we've stayed in - it was spotless and it was immediately obvious that everything was new. We really appreciated the added touches like a pint of milk and large mineral water in the fridge upon arrival along with breakfast cereals, biscuits, dishwasher and washing tablets etc and also that the owners Hilary and Alan recognise that things will get broken occasionally so they leave an "accident book" to document such minor mishaps.
Hilary and Alan are very friendly and responsive hosts, dealing quickly with a couple of minor issues we had during the week, and even went above and beyond before we arrived, providing a brand new tumble dryer when we enquired about the clothes drying options in the autumnal weather!
All in all a really homely place to stay in a rural location, within easy reach of York and the busy little town of Malton. Highly recommended

Our second visit and we loved it. Lovely clean accommodation. Some units on one level and a two storey house available. Adjacent is a quiet country lane which is good for dog walking. Views across the fields with donkeys, horses and a church. TV in the bedroom and excellent wifi reception. We had a great week there with a warm welcome from Hilary and Alan. We have already booked for next year and can't wait.

Travelled from Norfolk on 17th March 2018, it was bitterly cold with driving snow flurries, we wondered if we should turn back and forget our holiday, but we soldiered bravely on into Yorkshire to be greeted by even more snow, eventually after an 8 hour drive Inc. breaks we arrived at Langhill Cottages. We felt shattered but a warm cosy cottage awaited.
We entered into Dutch Blues and was amazed at how much space there was, 4 well appointed rooms, Kitchen/Diner, Living room, Toilet/Bathroom off libving room, and large Bedroom also off living room.
Seems that every room had all you required for a comfortable stay.
Our Norfolk terrier called Monty was made very welcome, and soon made himself at home.
WiFi runs at around 15Mbs, fast enough for most things, if you want to use.
The cottage was clean, well furnished, light and airy, but most of all peaceful, ample off road parking outside your cottage which is handy for loading and unloading luggage after a long journey.
Will highly recommend these cottages along with the new owners Alan and Hilary Chapman, two very helpful hosts. We wish them every success in there new business.

How refreshing to find clean, affordable accommodation that takes dogs. We stayed in Dutch Blues cottage for a week in August. Booked fairly last minute so didnt really have much time to do research, so were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door to find spacious, well-equipped rooms and so homely as well! The kitchen had everything you could want including large fridge freezer, washer and nice big oven. Beautiful furnishings in the bedroom which had comfy bed and plenty storage. Bathroom was huge. The lounge with comfy leather sofas and a flame effect fire made it very cosy. Wifi fine for us. No private garden area but a lovely outside seating area with water feature which unfortunately we didnt have time to enjoy. Lovely walkies for dogs outside the property into the village and countryside. Booking was easy through website with confirmation and prompt email correspondence with Sheila. We had to travel into York every day which took 30 minutes. The short trip into Malton where there were plenty eateries and Morrisons and Lidl probably only took 8 to 10 minutes. We had quite a few conversations with Trevor and found him welcoming and friendly. Wouldnt hesitate to return and recommend to others. You would have to be overly critical to find any (if any) negatives here.

We stayed for two nights and I have to say that I think the owners have thought of everything! The accommodation was spacious, well furnished and sparkling clean. Tissues, toilet rolls, milk, salt and pepper, towels all there! Small things but they make a difference. Lovely location. I would stay again as it is a great base from which to tour the area. If I was being super picky, I would say please add postcodes to the restaurants and pubs suggested as places to eat so that they can be found using a sat nav.

We stayed here for 5 nights for a break as the location seemed ideal (easy to York and Whitby). We were in Dutch Blues and it exceeded our expectations. Had a lovely kitchen which was brilliant as we did not fancy eating out somewhere. Spotlessly clean. Cosy living room, fabulous bathroom and wonderful bedroom. Very quiet too. I agree with the "home from home" comment as it really was. We wandered into the village to the pub which was very friendly, and although it does not serve food currently it was worth going for a drink. The roads are small and take some getting used to if you aren't already but they are only really for a couple of minutes around the cottages. Supermarkets nearby to do a shop too! Would definitely come back again, thank you!

We are just back from our holiday at Langhill...we stayed in the "Dutch Blues" cottage, which was lovely, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with everything you could need for your holiday. The outdoor patio area is like an oasis, where we had breakfast every morning, and a glass or two of wine every evening, it is so lovely and tranquil.
The cottage is situated in a small village, with a pub, The Bay Horse Inn, 5 minutes walk away, and which serves great food.
We found the location of the cottage superb for visiting the coastal towns of Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, and Robin Hoods Bay, a must see! also very close to York, Knaresborough and various other local attractions, including the stunning Castle Howard, another must see!!
Trevor and Sheila, the hosts, are lovely, friendly people, and if we were going back to that area we would not hesitate to book to stay there again. If you are heading that way, give it a try, I promise you won't regret it!
