We stayed here in December on night after Xmas, we had a reservation in San Cristobal but time was not on our side so we spent the night at the Hotel Central. The room was clean, secure, and adequate for my girlfriend and I. One thing to note is that DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE from Ocosingo to Comitan de...

We stayed for three nights. The first room we were given was downstairs behind the reception desk. We had read that the upstairs rooms were the best ones and asked about them but were told that they are very noisy. So we kept the room downstairs. The only window however opened onto a wall, which felt a bit claustrophobic, although...

We stayed in this hotel due to its convenient location. Our purpose was to visit the ruins of Toniná which which are the main attraction here. If you want to have a good night sleep, select one of the back rooms as they are comfortable and quiet. If you want action, opt for the front balcony room over viewing the...

We stayed 2 nights. In the centre of Ocosingo so fairly noisy until around 11pm. Nice balcony to sit and watch life go by. No English spoken. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure so top marks for the shower although bathroom was on the small side. Would recommend for a short...

Don't let the price scare you away. This is a classic older hotel: nice, clean, secure and right on the central plaza and it has the best restaurant in town. We stayed Friday night so it was a bit noisy, but what can you expect being right on the plaza. And being able to sit on the porch and watch...

Don't let the unimpressive lobby scare you away. This hotel, on the square in Ocosingo is clean, costs 400 pesos, less than $30 for two, with secure parking, for a two bedroom unit with plenty of hot water and with a good wi fi connection. It is a perfect base for seeing Tonina ruins, which are worth seeing. Many do...

I recently stayed at Central Hotel from December 11 - 12, 2014. I stayed one night in Ocosingo so I could visit the nearby Tonina ruins. The hotel has an excellent location adjacent to the main plaza and cathedral. Rooms are reasonably priced, very simple, and clean. Beds are comfortable. Showers and sinks have hot water. There's a TV in...

my wife and I stayed 2 nights at this excellent, small hotel primarily to visit the Mayan ruins at Tonina. We thought the hotel was perfect, clean rooms, good food and a lovely terrace to sit on overlooking the zocalo ( called parque here) where onFriday night we were entertained by a very good marimba band. I would recommend breaking...

unplanned overnight in this interesting and nice city. Checked a couple hotel via inet, but this one not listed and turned out great. Nice outside patio restaurant and right on the pretty central park. Nothing fancy, but friendly and clean rooms.

I chose Hotel Central because the previously left positive reviews and wasn't disappointed. I paid 400 for a double room with a fan (actually two double beds and two fans); a room with air con would have been 500 pesos. Breakfast is not included; the restaurant downstairs has breakfasts from 60 pesos upwards. The bed was comfortable, shower was amazing,...
