We visited twice with our Dogs, once to spec it out and the next night to eat, the pints were well presented a d the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, we looked at the menu and wanted to try most of the mains, so we booked for tge next night. The food was fabulous, hot, well presented , beautifully cooked, and tasted amazing, I had the scallops thai curry starter, it was delicious, followed by the cod loin and Salmon fishcake with asparagus and spring onions, I ordered a side of fries as I felt it would not be enough, sort of was, but I am a big woman with a big appetite, The hubby had the mushroom aux gratin starter, great taste, good backdate of chilli but the sauce could have been thicker? Followed by the belly pork which he loved, but with the extra chips, he was happily full, the bill with four pints came to a reasonable £71.00

On a little trip away, we were recommended to come and try The Anglers Arms, we phoned on the day and managed to get booked in on the evening. The overall ambience and atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a one way system in place and a screen up at one side of the bar which felt reassuring in this current climate. The food was very delicious and the portion sizes were generous, if you have room for a pudding - it's recommended! The only downside to our visit was the lack of social distancing and too many tables in one area which is a concern when every table was full. A suggestion to make future visitors feel more at ease would be to remove a few tables or make use of another room, to enable more space for everyone to be socially distanced.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The room is small yes, but perfectly adequate and the staff couldn't be bettered. Friendly and helpful throughout. The location is ideal for exploring Northumberland and we were fortunate to enjoy pleasant weather during our stay. There is a good choice for breakfast and the evening meals are far, far more than pub grub. Lots of choice yet everything was beautifully prepared and the portions are very good too. The social distancing was properly monitired and all the people we saw complied with this properly. I hope we'll be able to visit again when there are no restrictions and be able to enjoy time here with friends and family.
