Our double room was spacious and clean. The style of the bedroom and bathroom was a little dated and tired though, so not very modern. We didn't expect to stay in a newly built hotel as we realise this was a countryside pub in Somerset with a hotel attached! but just so others know what to expect.

They have a very big restaurant which served breakast, the food was well cooked and good value being a Hungry Horse. The price for the room was also fantastic. The location wasn't great for us, as we had a wedding in Clevedon, with poor taxi/bus services at night. But if you drive places, and you can forgive the rooms being a little tired/old, then this is a great value and family friendly pub and hotel. We felt the staff were polite and offered a good service.

Would have appreciated more hand sanitizer (some in the pub were empty) and staff/guests wearing masks, but overall we would stop in a Hungry Horse/Greene King inn again.

The Bridge Inn Lodge is probably on a par with Premier Inn for rooms, compact but adequate. The breakfast was included and very good, though the staff were a bit forgetful sometimes about what we had ordered and when to bring it. The thing that really annoyed us was that on two mornings, someone was vacuuming the restaurant only a few tables away and another dusting while people were trying to eat their breakfasts. It was very annoying having the whine of a vacuum all the time we were eating. Not very good planning by the staff as they could have waited another 30 minutes when the place would have been empty. The fact that we were obliged to walk over the vacuum lead was surely a health and safety issue. Probably won’t go there again.

We spent a couple of nights so as to visit family in Bristol and tour Brunel’s superb ground breaking 1840’s steam ship the SS Great Britain. Having found the Hotel entrance is right round the other side of the building, it was some time before anyone responded to the call bell. Although the hotel is a bit tired and could do with a repaint and new carpets, the ground floor room was clean and bigger than many much pricier hotels with a large desk/dressing table, a couple of chairs and a small table along with plenty of space for clothes. Clevedon, with some free sea front parking is about three miles away as is J20 of the M5 thus avoiding the nightmare traffic in grid-locked ULEZ Bristol with 20 mph speed limits even on some major main roads – avoid the City like the plague, even the locals do. The Bridge’s Hungry Horse restaurant and bar were packed on Friday night with a long queue to even order, when we were warned it might be an hour’s wait for our main. In fact, the helpful staff quickly brought our starter and the main was only a brief wait. The food was hot and tasty with good sized portions - where else can you get three courses with a glass of wine for just over £40, for two people. With quiet room and comfortable bed The Bridge Inn proved to be a good choice for our needs.

I booked direct with the hotel and found Chloe extremely helpful and she promptly and efficiently answered by emails. Our room a twin was spacious with an excellent ensuite. It was very clean nice white cotton bed linen and joy of joys bath sheets in the ensuite and not skimpy little towels. We ate in the restaurant on the first night my husband had the all day breakfast which was enormous and I had a medium rare rump steak which great. At breakfast there is a good choice and I was impressed by the size of the fruit juice offered no small glasses here. Neither of us tackled the full English only a selected part. The bacon was particularly good. All the staff were helpful and pleasant from the room attendants to the restaurant staff. Thank you Bridge Inn for a great break in these strange times you did your best to keep us safe.

The night stay was for a surprise party for my 60th birthday. I have stayed here a few times now, with this one being the best. The room, as always, was lovely and comfortable. I can say, without a doubt, that the leather chair is comfy to sleep in as i spent a good hour there after feeling poorly in the night. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This is our permanent place to stay each time we travel down to Bristol, so i recommend it to others to stay there. The breakfast each morning is lovely, fresh cooked with loads of options to choose from, including a child size in case you don't feel so hungry. Check it out, you wont be disappointed

I do have one complaint, the rooms are too hot, considering how small the room heater is, its too hot. Leaving the window open is not an option. Perhaps a fan in the room or invest in air conditioning

Went to the Bridge Inn for lunch less than a week after reopening due to covid-19. The staff were brilliant.

On entry to the Bridge Inn you can sanitise your hands. The pub operates a one way system around and social distancing is done between tables. The food was awesome, tasty and wonderful portion sizes.

A great and very safe experience and we will be back.

Will not be staying here again. I can see why this hotel asks you to pay on check in, it is unlikely they would get full money from anybody paying at checkout.
The carpet along the corridor to the room was very grimy, initially we thought the poor level of cleanliness was due to the recent rain but the room proved this to be the general low standard in the accommodation.

We were in room 9, this was very tired with paper starting peel at the seems, if it was just old this would not have been a problem. Unfortunately the bathroom was completely unacceptable.
The door was difficult to open & close, once in the bathroom you could see that the bottom of the door was the problem. The door had damage all along the bottom with veneer peeling off in strips up the door. The hotels idea of a repair was some wide tape that looked like checker plate, this was also peeling off at the corners.
The sealant around the bath was mould stained, wooden panels around the bathroom were swollen at the edges and water stained. The tiles behind the bath were cracked, the crack extended up at least 4 tiles.
The shower curtain must have been a replacement, to fit it over the pole every other ring had been cut through as had the curtain between them, this looked absolutely terrible.
As a final comment be warry of the bathroom sink if you have any loose rings, there is no strainer grill in the sink, any loose jewelry will disappear down the pipework never to be seen again.
I have attached photos to support the above.

We stopped here as a way to break up our drive to Dawlish as we have 3 young kids. It was easy to navigate, clean and the family rooms were perfect for our family of 5.
The staff were all lovely, including a young red headed girl and young man that served us at night. Tony who served us breakfast was particularly lovely, taking his time to speak to us even though he was extremely busy. Nothing was too much trouble for him, including keeping sauces and syrups separate from food (fussy kids!)
I couldnt help but feel that the poor guy was a little overworked with a 40 room hotel and walk in breakfasts, surely a residents breakfast bar would be more beneficial. That said, I know Covid has its part to play in this.
Overall a nice visit, perfect for families, with staff being a main selling point! Great value.

The reception was very friendly when we checked in and explained the procedures of one way and face masks. There was even a box of face masks to help yourself to if you had forgotten yours. Our room was very airy and comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious too with an overhead shower and bath. Although the sliding door was extremely difficult to slide shut. After a good nights sleep, we went to the dining area for breakfast, a wonderful choice from basic to full on english breakfast, The staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely come back.
