Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Attending an event in nearby Chinnor we were recommended The Peacock.
On arrival Parking was straightforward however May be busy during restaurant opening times I saw no EV charging.
We went into enjoy our relaxed overnight stay in this picturesque setting. The room was functional and comfortable with plenty of hanging space and storage for both of us. There was excellent WI-FI , which when we visited was free, although the network is not secure.
What made the room particularly pleasant was the opening French doors onto a patio area with views over open fields, no traffic noise here. The approach road , which isn’t a through road, leads only to a quiet residential street
All of the staff we met were polite and courteous, queries and requests were dealt with efficiently. The housekeeping was also of a high standard.
The adjoining restaurant provided a freshly cooked breakfast with quality produce. We also had an evening meal there for convenience. The Menu was varied enough to offer something for most and was cooked to a high standard. I would recommend checking kitchen opening times as well as booking meals as the restaurant is popular with those from the local area .

This establishment provides consistently good food as they have a proper chef at work in the kitchen, producing innovative recipes alongside 'old favourites'.
On our last two visits, the homemade steak and ale pie, being a proper home cooked pie with pastry on all sides was excellent, as were the grilled salmon steak and the fish and chips.
The beer is ok, with well kept Tring Sidepocket and the popular, but to me somewhat boring Doom Bar on offer.
I was also pleased to see that safety of the staff and customers was paramount with sensible precautions in place including rigorous cleaning, one way systems and adequate social distancing.

Had a takeaway - prawn cocktail and beef and turkey roasts - yesterday, absolutely delicious! Tasted incredibly fresh and not at all mass produced, with generous portions, so leftovers to enjoy today. Lovely touch to have a gift of an Easter egg. An all round treat, thank you x

I have lived in the neighboring village for over 30 years and have only been to The Peacock once. As it was my friends birthday, I booked a table for the three of us for lunch. Upon arrival, all covid precautions were in place, we placed our order and waited. The food came out swiftly and was absolutely delicious. The fish pie was fab and the sticky toffee pudding , so big , I could not eat it all. I could not fault the food, the service and the delivery, will definitely be going back again.

My grandparents regularly come here and we went as a family of 4. Food was incredible and service was fab! My grandad has Parkinson’s and I assume the waiter could see this. He very kindly took the meat of my grandads lamb shank for him in the most kind and unpatronising way. Incredibly thoughtful and grateful for this!!!

Just held my Mum’s 90th birthday here. Nearly 50 guests for lunch and they all commented on how enjoyable their food was. The staff were superb and couldn’t have done more for us and the family. Jemma was brilliant and so were the young staff as well as the very hard working chefs. We stayed over and our room had patio doors with a lovely countryside view. Bed fairly comfortable but perhaps some new pillows needed. Bathroom fine with a bath that filled up really quickly. Good towels. Superb breakfast using excellent quality ingredients. Loved our fried bread too. It really was a special time so thank you Martin and staff very much.

Booked in for lunch after a walk along Bledlow Ridge.
Tranquil setting,
Food quality excellent ..and won’t burnt your pocket.
Would have liked to eaten outside in the sun but drinks only permitted on the patio.
Good selection of lagers, disappointed to find only one bitter on tap. Should be choice of at least two for a place of this standard.
Would definitely return if ever this way.

We went for a small get away from the hustle and bustle.

I must say, I’ve never stayed in a hotel with such lovely staff, quiet rooms and wonderful fresh all homemade food.

We shall certainly be back again within the next month for a longer stay.
