A nice hotel to stay in Kaleköy, Gökçeada. 5-10 minutes on foot to Kaleköy's seaside restaurants and cafes. It is also very close to the restaurants with views on the hill. You can also walk to a beautiful bay nearby and swim. Underwater is very beautiful. The hotel is a boutique hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was actually better than we expected. You sit under the palm trees, looking at the pool and a beautiful panorama. The rooms are adequate and clean. Toiletries are nice, water pressure is good in quantity. There is a safe and refrigerator in the room. A hotel that can definitely be preferred for an island holiday.

We have stayed at Anemos Hotel twice this summer. Gokceada does not offer many places to stay, especially if you are looking for a 'real' boutique hotel. Anemos, opened this summer, offers a boutique hotel experience with a touch in every detail. The stone building, the pool (in the island, there are no other boutique hotel with a pool) and the view is magnificient. We had our breakfast at the hotel, which was always tasty with different local and international tastes. (in a range of organic cheese from the island to French-style beery&goat cheese. Since they are so new, we experienced few organizational problems, but all have been resolved with the help of courteous and similing personnel.

Wonderful, balanced, timeless and well fitting architecture and interior design. A perfect setting and location. The owners are great fun, make fantastic conversation and are very professional at the same time. Charming service and great food (local fish and meat, vegetables and herbs from the hotel's own garden, cakes and cookies are made on the premises - where do you get that in a hotel?). The whole atmosphere is familial, intimate. Despite this place offering all that one would expect from a high-class hotel, one can get the feeling of being in one's own rented villa a lot of the time. Much attention is paid to detail in all aspects of service (little bathroom accessories, food, drink, amenities) but in an effortless way. Now, a couple of development needs - staff should get a little training in English (however the owners are almost native and the manager is fluent); some more shade on terraces, balconies and around the pool would be great in mid-summer; given the scarcity of English among the waiting staff, the English menu could be more descriptive. Some other ideas for the menu and better advetising of the freshness and home-madeness of everything were given in person.

Anemos is gorgeous boutique hotel with incredible style and details. It's got rustique stone building which is unique to Gokceada but the interior is beautiful and stylish in every detail. The sunset from the hotel is incredibly beautiful and the food was so yummy...! On a hot day, nothing beats their Frappe in the pool... I'd strongly recommend it to everybody!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days in a cool week in May and found it very comfortable. It felt more like home than a hotel with its excellent interior design, simple but very tasteful with nice little touches, created by the Greek partner of the hotel, Mr Alex. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and had more than all the necessary amenities, not only shampoo, soap and a hair dryer, but from bath slippers to a modem for only your use.
The pool looked very inviting but it was too cold to try it although we intended to. The view is very nice as the hotel overlooks a green valley. Maybe not a seaview but even more relaxing.
Breakfast was open buffet on some days or brought to your table in plentiful quantities ( and with quality) on other days. There were at least five types of cheese, different jams, fruit, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and delicious pastries ( börek) and cakes. Eggs and omlettes are done according to your taste. Nobody can find any fault with the breakfast.
If I have to find a fault, it is with the stairs as we stayed on the second floor but the staff was very helpful and carried our bags. They were very helpful in giving us all kinds of information about this Cittaslow island with nice historical Greek villages as well.

Unfortunately I only had 2 nights on Gokcaeda but was lucky enough to spend them at Anemos. I should have expected the service would be outstanding as had wonderful, detailed email prior to travelling giving every assistance re directions, ferry times etc. On arr I was upgraded without requesting to a room with a wonderful view for kms. Everything is first class; the facilities, the setting, food, service, & also the array of excellent holiday reading material. It is a 10 min walk to the pictuesque little harbour at Kilakoy from where small buses dept regularly to connect with other villages on the island. I highly recommend Anemos

Looking for a peaceful, up-market atmosphere for a summer reunion of university friends now scattered across the globe, we spent a week at Anemos Hotel and enjoyed every minute of it.
As soon as you arrive at this small boutique hotel, you are struck by how beautiful yet unpretentious it is. You see immediately that it has been planned by people with an excellent sense for design and who understand the importance of respecting the local topography and traditions.
Despite our varied linguistic and cultural provenances, some unexpected illness-related delays en route and several children in the group, we were all made to feel like members of the family from the moment we arrived, and the service was so easygoing and personal that most of us ended up eating pool-side every evening and chatting late into the night. The dinner menu is excellent as are the laid-back breakfasts with many fresh local specialities, including herbs and vegetables from the hotel’s own garden. The biscuits and cakes baked on site for the inter-cocktail sugar lows were also a lovely touch!
The hotel owners and management are from Istanbul but are very knowledgeable about the history of Gökceada and advised us on places to go and things to see. Overall, the island is still beautifully unspoilt and a wonderful place to go to recharge away from the thundering herd. At the same time, there is plenty of action for those who are looking for windsurfing, sailing, or snorkeling, for example. (It is not for nothing that the island is called “the island of winds”.) A car is a pre-requisite, however, as there is still very little infrastructure. That being said, there is a local bus service from the hotel to the centre of the island a few times a day. Most of our group drove down to Gökceada from Istanbul by car, spending one night near Gallipoli on the way, but there is a small airport on the island with several flights to and from Istanbul per week (Borajet). So a long weekend on the island for locals from Istanbul is quite a realistic option. Long may the “slow tourism” concept that this and other families in Gökceada have for the island continue!
We look forward to returning to Anemos Hotel soon and recommend it warmly to anyone looking for a classy but excellent value holiday on a far-flung Aegean island.

This hotel is a little gem. As is the island itself... I'm somewhat reluctant to share what a fantastic time I had here because I'd hate for the island to lose its real state of calm and quiet. The hotel is new and clean and really functional, the views from the pool and where you eat dinner are also lovely. The food is very good and much better value than other local restaurants. Also, because this hotel is small, you really do feel the personal touch with staff and owners. I'd like to thank Anemos for a truly memorable stay!

Stayed with family and friends, occupying 3 rooms in mid August 2012. The hotel has been open about a year. The setting overlooking a verdant valley is lovely. The rooms are air conditioned and beautifully appointed, hair dryers, slippers and toiletries are provided. There is free wi-fi in all areas. A fresh and delicious breakfast buffet including tomatoes, greens and peppers freshly picked from the gardens, savory pastries prepared on premises, scrambled eggs with cheese from local hens, homemade jams, island honey and cured meats is served every morning and is included in the price. The pool is small but beautiful. The owners, manager and staff are all delightful. A small library is available with many interesting books, some on the history of the island. The restaurant is excellent and we all agreed that the sea bass was the best we have ever tasted.
Climb to the top of the hill to the ruins of an old castle and Kalekoy village for the sunset- the sun sets next to the Greek island of Samothrace. I also discovered that you have a great view of the sunrise from the east end of the castle ruins.
The Yildizkoy beach is a few minutes walk. It is home to an underwater marine sanctuary and the swimming/snorkeling/diving at this and nearby beaches of Mavikoy and Yesilkoy is quite good when the wind is from the south. If there is northerly winds "Poyraz" with high waves and turbidity, travel to south side of the island, 20-30 minutes for swimming/snorkeling. Lazkoy beach on the south side is protected and quiet during week days.
About the island: Gokceada (formerly Imvros or Imroz) is a very interesting and beautiful island. The history of the island is sad and is worth reading about. The nature is unspoiled and organic farms are abound. A four wheel drive is useful if you would like to see the more remote corners of the island as some of the roads are dirt. Although Derekoy is the most famous old village, I also recommend "Bademli" (very close to Anemos), "Zeytinli" and "Tepekoy".
To visit the waterfall, you need to hire a guide and ATV's as the road is closed to cars in the summer, and even if the road was open, you would not be able to find the falls without help- the path is overgrown by Oleander bushes.
Tips: If there is availability, I would recommend choosing a superior room, the extra space is worth the minimal difference in price. You get a spacious balcony, bigger bathroom and a separate sitting area.
