We loved our stay, the welcome from Johan and brief morning conversations were a great way to find out about the area. Johan is very knowledgeable regarding the surrounding areas and villages and his restaurant recommendation's never failed to deliver. If you want a city envioroment/town centre location this isn't the place to stay, if you want solitude, peace and be close to Chablis and Auxerre then this place ticks the box. Unfortunately the rain didn't cease during our time here, which is a great excuse(as if we needed one) to come back again in the summer.
We had a great stay at the Chateau. The property is beautiful and the rooms are super nice (we had three adults and the suite on the top floor). The hosts are so hospitable, helpful in local recommendations and decorated the home with beautiful art inside & out. I already want to come back in the summer to enjoy the grounds and pool more!
What do you get when you mix a beautifully restored chateau, 5 star accomodation, an incredible art collection, super cool decorations and a very cool host? Chateau de la Resle! We absolutely loved our stay here. To add to the experience the breakfast is delicious, morning walks around the property were a highlight and the time we spent by the beautiful pool in the sun drinking wine topped it all off. Thanks Johan for making our trip. We will be back for my 40th! Sarah and Christin.
We came, we saw and we fell in love! Do I need to say more?! The location is really great away from everything but still close by to go to a city or quick dinner. The interior is very stylish but you feel like you are home. This is exactly what they tried to accomplish and they sure did. We really loved our room. The service is great, get good recommendations , they make reservations and give you tips how and what you could do during breakfast. Breakfast is nice and everything we wanted was there in a nice room. Johan was a great host, and we will definitely be back to eat when they cook a diner with vegetables!!!!!!!!
Amazing property. The rooms, building, pool & common spaces & truly lovely. As is the art - very impressive. The owners were very helpful booking restaurants, recommending wineries etc. It is worth highlighting there are NO food options after than breakfast. You need to jump in the car & drive 20mins. This was fine for us, but it's not what everyone feels like doing, especially if you check in late. Lovely stay, would recommend.
