We chose the Akti Hotel as we prefer smaller family run hotels.

The service from Dimitri and her son, Theo, was simply outstanding. Dimitri genuinely cares about her guests and was extremely helpful throughout our 2 week stay, from ad hoc lifts to/from the town, booking and recommending restaurants, arranging a boat trip and car hire, and always being there with a smile.

The Akti is in a quiet countryside location about a 25 minute walk to the centre of Molivos. It is also very close a small pebbly beach. Being outside of town is well worth it for the peaceful location and whilst we enjoyed the walk (one way at least!) Dimitri and Theo provided frequent lifts.

We were staying in the old block (room 103) which was a good size, simply furnished, and with a lovely sea view from the balcony. The room was cleaned daily and towels regularly changed as required.

Breakfast was simple and tasty. It was a bit busy at times, but who needs to hurry when you are on holiday and in such beautiful surroundings.

We had lunch and an evening meal a couple of times. All of which were great. We tended to eat out in Molivos where there is a great selection of restaurants. Our favourite was the Octopus in the harbour. There is also a great restaurant, the Golden Beach, at nearby Eftalou.

We had lunch a few times at the adjacent Aphrodite Hotel which is by the beach. The Iman and stuffed vine leaves are both excellent! This hotel is owned and run by Dimitri's uncle and they welcome guests from the Akti.

The Akti is a 3* hotel so clearly does not have all the mod cons of a modern 5 star hotel. The location and service however make this an excellent hotel and I would highly recommend it for a holiday to beautiful Lesvos.

16.08.22 - 24.08. 22 What a lovely weeks holiday for our family. A welcome like no other from Demetria, Theo and Alex. Our room, although a little tired it was clean and spacious for all 4 of us. Breakfast was delicious and verity was endless. The family are in the process of refurbishing all the hotel rooms and apartments and the hotel will be amazing the next 1 to 2 yrs. Theo has big plans for the main hotel, Pool and Bar area. They’re doing this slowly as they don’t want to disrupt the guests holiday. From the rooms we saw it looks like the attention to detail won’t be compromised. The shuttle bus wasn’t working on our stay, however the family made sure everyone was taken into town (Molyvos) whenever they wanted. Nothing was too much trouble as we had left our beach towels behind, Demetria gave us fresh towels whenever we eaten them. The food at the hotel was fresh and portion size was huge. My wife was badly bitten by mosquitoes and Alex made sure she was given the correct medication from the hotel’s supply. On leaving Demetria insisted my wife took the full tube home with her. If you’re an animal lover as we all are, their dogs and cats were around for the odd cuddle and tit-but off the plate (don’t tell anyone we did this) . A small negative and it is only small in that the hotel has 31/32 serviceable rooms and there was only around 20 sun loungers at pool side, so I ended getting up a bit earlier to ensure we all had a bed to relax on and not just a patio chair as some did. However plans are in place to site another pool area at the back of the hotel in a few yrs time. Overall the 4 of us had a wonderful week at Akti, we even used the private beach at Aphrodite Hotel for some amazing snorkelling. I can’t than them enough for making it almost perfect. We wish you all the luck with your new plans for the hotel and yes…. We Will Be Coming Back. The Carroll Family

It was our second time in the beautiful town of Molyvos on Lesbos, however, the first time at Akti hotel. If only we had known of Akti before...
We stayed at a two room appartment, basic, but very clean and spacy and with a nice terrace in front of it. We really liked it and even when we were offered to move to one of the renovated rooms, we decided to keep the room we were in. By the end of our stay, we saw the updated rooms which are really luxurious and contemporary. However, we had a fantastic holiday with our fine, basic two room appartment as our temporary home. And that is actually how Akti hotel felt right from the start: as a home. In Dutch we have this saying that something feels like a warm blanket. Akti hotel does.

Not least because of the idyllic place, surrounded by olive trees and fantastic views over the hills and the blue sea. But certainly also because of the passionate family who are such wonderful hosts. They really make the difference and make every effort to make their guests feel comfortable. Such warm people who really make you feel at home. It feels like we've gained friends for life. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with lots of glitz and glamour and swaying palm trees, then you should not be here. If, like us, you go for personal attention, an authentic atmosphere and true hospitality, then this is the place to be. We can't wait to return to this enchanting place next year.

We have had a lovely two week break in Molivos. If you aren’t fussed about commercialisation and prefer traditional Greece then this the place. 15 minute walk into Molivos (a few hills). The views and places to see/eat are amazing.

As for the hotel, Demetria and Alex can’t do enough for you and work really hard to keep guests happy - lovely people. Although the mini bus is broken they are more than happy to drop you in town in their own vehicle. Really chatty and give you plenty of advice about the area.

We had a few issues with our room but they were dealt with promptly. The main problem, which we were not happy with was that the maid was signing to say our room had been cleaned but it hadn’t. I reported it after 9 days and then it was done to decent standard. The bathroom drains smell all the time.

Food and drink in the hotel is at least 2-4 Euros more expensive than in Molivos. We ate there when there was a storm as we couldn’t get to town. Avoid the 4 cheese pasta. Breakfast is nice and a bit of variety.

Overall the hotel is no way like the photographs that Jet2 advertise. The rooms and buildings are dated and need a good coat of paint and freshen up. It’s very tired looking. It was made out to be a new hotel to Jet2 so you assume it’s new - it’s not. No slippers/robes in room or iron/board. Pool area is nice but had to sit on a chair for few days as not enough sun beds. Although the owners have lots of plans for the future, they need to concentrate on the basics now or will not return.

Dear Mr Blackman, thank you for your comments and your suggestions regarding our improvement. we will do our very best to satisfay all of the needs of our guests. Our plans include renovations and changes to all of the areas. The only thing that we have to mention is that whatever Jet2 is showing in their brosures (pictures of the rooms, the pool area, the breakfast area is excactly what we have.) You had the oportunity to see the two different type of the rooms uppon your arrival. Abour iron and iron board we give them to our guests when they ask for them. we dont keep them into the rooms. About the missing robes, we took them out of the rooms because noone was using them.(propably of the very hot weather) If by the way you would have asked we would be more than happy to provide them to you. As per cleaness we are really sorry, the maid had fiiled up the report everyday and we didn;t know that she didnt clean your room in proper way. As you have seens we are a family run hotel, we care a lot for our guests satisfaction and for this reason we ask each and one of you everyday if there is something we can do to make your holidays better or change something.(if you had mentioned the cleaning problem from the first day that would be solved) We hope that we will have the joy to wecome you once again in AKTI and you will witness the changes and renovations. with best regards, Dimitra Vati Managing Director

Dimitra is the head of a wonderful family and manager to a beautiful hotel that she cares for with love and attention to detail.

Wonderful breakfast with local products (our favourites were the rice pudding with cinnamon and the yoghurt with milk). There is an open breakfast area under fig trees as well as a closed breakfast area overlooking the sea and the Turkish shore

We booked a spacious apartment with a nice equipped kitchen that allowed us to have nice quick meals when we did not have time to go to a restaurant for lunch. Loved the view from our terrace (see picture)

The hotel has a great spacious pool and is literally 5 minutes away from one of our favourite beaches (that is a wonderful spot for snorkeling with octopuses, colourful fishes and corals!).

The city is a 5-10 minutes beautiful walk overlooking the sea, ancient ruins and the castle

COVID-wise every common space in the hotel is either fully outside or close to many open windows so we always felt very safe. The hotel is very attentive to COVID measures without losing the beautiful experience of being on holiday in Greece (for example using the individually prepared and sealed mini homemade jams during breakfast!)

Lovely family run hotel in a gorgeous location. We were made to feel so welcome by Theo and Dimitra and we would definitely recommend staying here if you prefer a more personal touch! Although at first we were unsure of the location being further out of Molyvos than we thought it was a great decision to stay here - the hotel offer a shuttle service several times a day and taxis are reasonably priced. The walk into Molyvos is possible but it’s quite a steep hill initially and definitely sweaty in the sun! We loved the fact that it’s a pet friendly hotel and cuddling the resident dogs was a highlight! The beach down the road by the adjacent hotel was perfect for snorkelling.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home and completely relaxed. Dimitra and her son Theo were so warm and welcoming, always a smile on their faces and so willing to help in any way. They made the holiday great. The pool and bar are lovely and although we were further out of Molivos than we expected the walk in was lovely, there were always the shuttles if you didn't want to walk and a beach less than 5 mins walk away at the hotel across the road, which is in the family and welcomes guests of the Akti to use their sunbeds on the beach or at their pool along with their poolside terrace restaurant. Molivos was absolutely beautiful with plenty of lovely restaurants, we never had a bad meal! The food is very reasonably priced and most is produced on the island.

Thank you Dimitra and Their for making our holiday so enjoyable!

Just spent two weeks at this lovely hotel. We had a fab stay - very relaxing. The rooms were bright and super-clean, and we had a balcony with a sea view. There is a good sized pool with sunbeds around, and a lovely pool bar. The regular mini bus service is really useful as it is a 20 minute walk into Molyvos on quite a hilly route. What really sets this hotel apart are the friendly and welcoming people! Dimitra, Theodore, Alex and the rest of the team go out of their way to make your holiday the best they can. We really felt like old friends by the end of our stay! Molyvos itself is a really pretty village with a lovely harbour and a great selection of bars and restaurants. We also ate at the hotel several times and found it to be excellent. Hoping to return next year.

This is a real gem of a hotel. Small, family run, they made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Really lovely breakfast buffet each morning (homemade cakes!) It’s also in a great, peaceful location. 15/20 mins walk into Molyvos which has lots of excellent restaurants and is just a magical little town. The pool area is great, or it’s walkable to the local beach (great snorkelling, take reef shoes) in front of the hotel Aphrodite (same family). The room/bed was very comfy, nice bathroom and a balcony overlooking the sea/sunset. Perfect holiday booked through Jet2. Highly recommended.

We have just spend 8. days at lovely hotel Akti. We stayed in a double room overlooking the garden and the sea. The room was very fine with a double bed (really nice quality sheets).
The breakfast was really good with nice selection of bread, eggs, youghurt, fruit etc.
The swimming pool was nice and clean, and we used it several times in the afternoons.
We were given an incredible service by the hosts Dimitra and Theo and the rest of the team. We had dinner several times at the hotel - in the cozy little garden - and in fact we think it was here we got the best service and the best quality of food when we compare with the other restaurants we had dinner at in Molivos.

We will definitely recommend this hotel.
