Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the Harnser for two nights - our first breakout from lockdown - and had a wonderful time. The rooms are tastefully furnished, everything is spotlessly clean, the breakfast is killer, you can even buy antiques, but the best thing about the Harnser is Ronan, who's more than just a host for whom nothing is too much trouble - he's a natural entertainer. We spent our evenings in the garden, surrounded by beautiful hollyhocks and in the company of our fellow guests, just laughing and having a wonderful time. Donna and I really look forward to being able to return to the Harnser in the near future. Highly recommended.

Unpretentious, welcoming, very clean, quirky, good value for money. The host made us feel very appreciated, the room had all the amenities and the breakfast was cooked to order and perfect. We had a room with an adjoining bathroom, there are only 5 rooms in all, so it was very peaceful. Loved the antiques on sale also, in the dining room

The restaurant was located less than 100 yards from the fabulous holiday let we were staying in and as a bit of a last minute decision we decided to book a table at The Harnser.
The land lord was very welcoming with a very dry sense of humour, if you are easily offended this might not be the place for you - we thought he was great and we had a lot of leg pulling during the evening.
The food was superb, particularly the Fish sharing Platter which three of the family had. Two had the Shepherds Pie which they thoroughly enjoyed.
It was really good value, the wine was very well priced and good to see an unpretentious selection. We'd certainly go again - great atmosphere, great food and good place to spend an evening.

The b&b is a former pub in a great location in the village, just across the road from the windmill. The rooms are simple and spacious, with shabby chic decor. An external shower room was located across the hall for sole use.
Downstairs there is a lovely bistro serving really good quality food in the evening, and an equally good breakfast in the morning.
Because of the type of building, there is some sound from other rooms such as floors creaking and doors shutting, however it's not overly disturbing, and certainly didn't affect sleep!
Overall, fantastic, welcoming, comfortable and most importantly, dog friendly!

Have just come home from a two night stay (we tried to book for three nights but unsurprisingly they were fully booked) A wonderful old Norfolk establishment that oozes character. Ronan and Alan were very welcoming and obviously take great pride in ensuring their guests stay is as good as it possibly can be. (Ronan is from Cork, my wife's home city so they instantly gelled) It has to be said that everyone at The Harnser is eclipsed by the double act provided by Ruben and Rocco. Highly recommended.

Considering this hotel is in the process of upgrading we totally enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are fairly basic but the bed was extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was brilliant and we could request almost anything we wanted. Ronan the owner was fantastic. He was so friendly and helpful to all the residents and had a great sense of humour to boot. We will definitely be going back again.
Highly recommended!!

Very welcoming and lovely owner, helped us with car troubles and was generally lovely. We felt very looked after. Room was cosy and the breakfast was delicious. Would recommend to anyone. Norfolk is great too, and it's a great location to drive to a number of nature reserves pretty easily. Cley Marshes are great for birdlife.

We were fortunate to find this comfortable venue. The location was great for the walking we wanted, with a visitors centre a short distance away. The food was outstanding with full English breakfasts and delectable seafood and meat platters or pies for the evening meal. We were even too full to partake of the desserts. Topped off by a genial, convivial host who could not have been more welcoming. A real find.

Popped in for morning coffee and ended up chatting to the delightful owner about classic cars. Our experience says a lot about this wonderful eatery that must be visited if you are in the area. Car park adjacent makes life easy and it is on the Blakeney circular walk so there is no excuse for not going

Stayed 2 nights and would happily visit again. All the public areas were clean as well as our room. The shower was compact but functional. Although traffic on the main road can be congested, it is a quiet haven in the Harnser. With regard to food, the breakfast was great with options for full English or Continental. In the evening they offered cold platters: we went for a charcuterie board and a seafood, well presented, good range of produce and tasty. Well-stocked bar. The hosts are welcoming and congenial, happy to share anecdotes if you’re spending time in the bar. They take their work seriously, though, as Ronan made a point of asking for feedback on checkout. One cautionary note…if you’re allergic to animal hair, they do allow dogs to sit on the furniture.
