The Paramata Lodge is a real wilderness retreat. The home and its surrounding property mixed with its passionate and knowledgeable host Kathy, makes this lodge a great find! Kathy is also an excellent cook. We highly recommend that you have her cook dinner for you. The alternative is to drive quite far for a meal... why not experience fine dining... More

The hosts, Kathy and Neil were very nice, helpful and exceedingly knowledgable about the surroundings and the environment. The walks on the extensive property were beautiful and enormously interesting. The regeneration process performed by the hosts are impressive and greatly successful. The food provided was excellent. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone interested in nature and a peacefulness.

First class in hospitality. When you want to be pampered and simultaneously enjoy great company. A getaway on our road trip down South, our first stop Paramata Lodge. Great room with contemporary en-suite. Lovely top quality sheets and bedding. Evening meal (with a good choice of New Zealand wines) was a delight, conscious of food provenance with locally sourced or... More

Paramata Lodge: The Good and the Not-So-Good We visited for three days in February. The Good: We spent three delightful days at the Paramata Lodge (Feb 23-25), which has fabulous public areas and layout: roomy, looks out at wonderful gardens, well designed, with lots of light. The owners are delightful: Cathy (teacher and expert in local nature) and Neil (expert... More

The lodge is located with a good position. The room is with the great sea view. The host cooked very nice breakfast. We had a great conversation with host and we like the decoration of this house. The room is very clean and spacious.

First advice.. keep going along the dirt track. It's about 5km but worth it. Like many here I initially felt a ltitle uneasy at the concept, sharing the families living space and dining. .. but that didn't last long. The rooms are huge, spacious, clean with great facilities, robes and great fluffy towels. Kathy and Neil are the most charming... More

We were upstairs and had views of the mountains. The decor was smart and soothing as well as elegant. We loved the timber throughout and the artworks. Kathy made us feel right at home and helped make our anniversary celebrations special. We would love to stay there again.

We stayed with friends for 2 nights and loved everything about it, especially our long breakfasts and dinners!! Travelling involves being exposed to new ideas and ways of doing things, as well as sight seeing, and that is what Kathy and Neil offered us. Initially we found it a little strange using their lounge to relax in while Kathy got... More

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Paramata Lodge. We felt like we were special house guests staying with Kathy and Neil in their beautiful home. It is such a tasteful space filled with light and beautiful art, most of which is created by sculptor, Neil. Kathy is a wizard in the kitchen and she also knows a... More
