It looks nice but this place throws loud parties till deep in the night. Nice if you like that but if you come to Koh Phayam for some peace and quietness, better not stay here. If you do stay you can count on no sleep, all party!

Situated in the middle of a garden in the centre of the island, Himmapan is a good choice for Koh Phayam, every beaches is in a walk dintance from here. Lovely style loft bungalow with high rooftop, change the banality of bamboo beach bungalow here in Thailand. The air is soft and calm at night provide a good sleep. I stayed here in the low season so everythings is a bit runs down after the big storm of people during the Hi-season so hoping that some renovation will bring the charm of Himmapan back. P’jay, the owner is very kind, made the stay here more charming. TIPS: they have their own speedboat, you can ask for the information for travelling to and from Ranong.

We travelled to the island from Ranong airport by speed ferry boat. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and the staff there made us feel very welcome. We had lunch at a nearby establishment or on the beach. There are quite a few places to dine in the evening. We had a very relaxed and fun time on the island.

Himmapan is a cool looking place which is in a great location. It's in the middle of the island you can travel anywhere reasonably quickly. You will definitely need to hire a bike as there are no cars and there is no public transport, although there are some motorbike taxis at the pier to get you started. The host (Jay) has a few bikes that you can rent, but you can also get these by the pier. The host was really fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. He provided a BBQ and boat trip plus lots of helpful into about beaches and places to eat. The pool is lovely and the communal area is really chilled and great for having a beer in the evening.

First of all we like to thank the owner jay for the nice stay. It was really nice , the bungalows were clean and mutch bigger than all the other bungalows we had in thailand. The pool was really nice as well and i think this was one of the only resorts in koh phayam that has a pool. If you want to have a nice stay in koh phayam, go here! Cheers

The rooms are unusual but private and comfortable. Light and airy with the possibility of air con. Private outside area and beautiful gardens. Nice swimming pool. Jay, the owner, was amazingly helpful and welcoming. He took us on a boat trip around the island and put on a barbecue - both free! Coffee is always available free. It's possible to pay the bill by card which is useful on Ko Phayam. It's a good idea to hire a scooter as the beaches and port aren't within walking distance.

I only stayed for 2 nights, but I will come back for longer as it was one of my best stays in Thailand. The loft villas are very special, I loved the design. They are spacious and have the bed on a gallery overlooking the whole space. The fan was fully enough as there is good cross ventilation possible. When I opened the big windows and doors down and up stairs, I always had the feeling living in the mids nature/jungle in this lush and beautifully garden. They recently had a Feng Shui expert there and all villas are painted in the respective Feng Shui colours - I slept in the "Wealth Area" ;-) -, the energy was amazing and uplifting, but same time relaxing. I had one of the best sleeps there - by the way the beds are also very comfy. I stayed there in low season, but I could enjoy the pool every day (it was raining only in the nights) and it was very peaceful on the whole island. Jay and his volunteers and another busy bee made my days and my stay very comfortable and enjoyable as they really and heart-fully taking care of their guests, I felt so welcomed, more like a home than a hotel. All in all I had an unforgettable stay, even in low season!!! Thumbs up!!!

Middle of the off season, so this island is very quiet with many resorts shuttered up and looking abandoned. Jay the owner of Himmapan is in his third year of the resort business and his second of being open all year round. His description of the sleepy island having two persona seems accurate. Whilst Himmapan has a bar and advertising free breakfast, both of these were not available, however there is always free (instant) coffee available at reception. Himmapan is in the middle of the island and is in a setting of mature and maturing gardens/landscape. The rooms are all individual and are an interesting eclectic design. Himmapan is expanding the number of rooms available and the new rooms will offer more to the not so able client. (current rooms require visitors to ascend a very steep ladder like staircase to access beds). The pathways are all made with stones set in concrete like cobbles, so very easy to roll an ankle if care is not taken. Swimming pool was well maintained, but had some very pointed corners looking to do one an injury if not careful. I liked Himmapan for what it is, not what it isn't, laid back relaxed place to stay...if you want slightly alternative this is perfect. It would be interesting to see visit in the high season to get the comparison.
