We stayed for two nights on a recent business trip to the area. Montacute village is delightful, nestled in the hills and littered with old stone buildings, the remains of an abbey and the magnificent National Trust property. The Kings Arms itself looks every inch the epitome of an old English inn. It is quaint, but decorated in a traditional-meets-modern...

We have been a few times to this establishment and on each occasion have had a very pleasant experience. The landlord and his wife and staff are very courteous and friendly and the service is most efficient. The choice of drinks available is extensive and the two dining rooms are tastefully decorated with quality napery and comfortable upholstered chairs. The...

Friendly and efficient service and excellent food. The ham egg and chips was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. The chilli beef was equally good but a small portion, about half the size of an average noodle dish in a bowl that looked deeper than it was. The lamb was equally good and the battered fish was perfectly cooked, served...

I came here with friends after staying locally. The menu was very formal for a pub and prices reflected that. However, the food was of an excellent standard in taste and presentation. I had the lamb burger which was succulent and delicious with the chunky chips. The white chocolate mousse was superb and delicately flavoured. My friends enjoyed their meals...

We were a party of 8 celebrating a birthday. The car park at the back of the property was full, strange as when we got into the place it wasn't busy. Menu selection was quite small, some of which had run out as well. Food arrived promptly and was ok. Not sure was worth the prices being charged though. When...

We stayed for 2 nights at Kings Arms Inn so that we could celebrate New Years Eve with old friends. The 5 course meal was absolutely scrumptious. Excellent fresh ingredients and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Could not have wished for a better way to spend New Years Eve. Derek's discos was a lot of fun,...
