Visited 24th October in pouring rain. Only 7 people attended owing to current restrictions. Usual groups can by 20+. Plenty of room for social spacing and we had almost one to one service from the friendly owner whose wife had made cheese straws and cheese platters on individual plates for us. The talk was most interesting but in language and terms we understood with plenty or Yorkshire humour. The wine tasting was amazing. I suspect we benefitted from being a small group as we sampled 8 different drinks from still and sparkling wines to cider all grown and made on site. It was more than a normal wine tasting session as we were offered 2nds of our favourite ones. I don't think this would have happened if we had been part of a larger group. We all purchased bottles at the end. I actually bought some Christmas presents. We are so pleased we made the effort to go.…
We visited in early September for my sister-in-law's hen do and couldn't have picked a more perfect venue and hosts. Michelle and the family were very accommodating and went out of their way to make this an extra special celebration. Jack was a brilliant and knowledgeable host for the vineyard tour and wine tasting in the converted barn. We were able to sample a selection of wines and ciders - they were all lovely but we especially enjoyed the East Coast sparkling wine. We'd also booked the additional tapas meal; the food was fresh, tasty and generously sized - the whole evening was great value for money.
Always a warm welcome from Michelle and Jon, and the rooms are fabulous. The pheasant room is small and cosy, and in these scarey Covid times was clean with all precautions taken so we felt very safe. The vineyardis is a joy to visit and explore, and the well stocked wine shop a great opportunity to stock up on these bespoke wines. Breakfast is hearty, freshly cooked to order, and really sets you up for the day. A must for anyone wanting a quiet break away I the Yorkshire Wolds. You must try the wines as they are great quality British wines.
What a fabulous experience from beginning to end with wonderful hosts. The wine tour and tasting was excellent. The tasting took place in the beautiful gardens. The accommodation was superb, a home from home with extras. A delicious breakfast completed our stay, certainly highly recommend.
What an beautiful place! I cannot recommend enough - amazing setting, gorgeous accommodation, friendly & welcoming owners, fun & interesting experience, locally sourced & tasty food, and award-winning wine! My partner and I stayed at Ryedale for our anniversary and it was perfect. We enjoyed every bite, sip and moment.
