Taken altogether this was the worst lodging experience we've had in all our travels around the world. The owner (Judy) is a terrible business person, who would rather we write a negative review than do what she can to honor the commitment of her agent and satisfy a customer. See below: 1. No one on property to greet us--just a...

Nice rooms, (we stayed in cottage), clean well appointed rooms, comfortable bed. Pleasant quiet location. few things that it would be handy to know before arrival : No cell phone coverage, Limited and slow WiFi No local food available, (takeaway caravan operates through the summer months but nothing from May) seems to be at leat 20km to nearest food, making...

Lovely accommodation, great location to get away from it all You feel cut off from the hustle and bustle of things almost anywhere in the Catlins. Here in Waikava you get even further away from it all. Just off the road down to Curio Bay (another 6 km) opposite the Museum, in Larne Street, the Harbour View is just that...

This house is a gem with a fantastic and ever-changing view over the estuary. We enjoyed watching the 'dynamic' weather through the floor-ceiling windows. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Key was ready waiting for us at the Waikawa museum. We'd certainly love to return and have already recommended Waikava Harbour View to others.

Having checked the Waikawa museum opening hours, we made sure to arrive before closing to collect the key. Hence, unlike others, we had no problem in gaining entry. The unit was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. There was a problem with Wifi which the owner acknowledged and was going to fix. The views of the inlet were amazing and it is...

Thank you for your great review. There is now a new WIFI voucher system in place - a voucher enables 100mb/day of data and is replaced daily. There is now a new key system. The key will be in the door of your room on your arrival or at Jim's place next door.

First of all the Service like Check in and Check out is Not existing. There is no one to ask what to Do so that I was asked by three different guests during my stay how to Check in and where the room is. Some even nocked AT my window AT nicht. I am Not the Reception!!! So as you...

Hi Denis Thank you for your feedback. It is correct there is no onsite reception, however there are contact numbers for guests to ring if they require assistance on the entrance door of each unit. It is unfortunate that you were disturbed by other guests trying to find where their unit is located, for this I apologise. Waikava Harbour View...

This is a nice property in a lovely place with plenty of space, kept clean and tidy. The only negative is probably the lack of reception and inadequate instructions for collecting the key. Why not email guests a few days before your stay and explain you need to collect the key from the museum on the main road. Instead there...

Large modern and nicely furnished house, very well taken care off, fully equipped kitchen, Freeview and DVD players with a small selection of DVD for everyone. View was even nicer than it looks like in photos and the house is about 10 minutes drive from Curio Bay. The place was spotless and the garden is very well look after too!...

The only difficult part about staying was that you will have to check in at the museum and info center, which is a 200m from the lodges itself, which I did not realize coming there. Other than that, I had a great experience. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the nice lady at the desk helped me find a...

We arrived at the lodge late at night and woke up to the most stunning uninterrupted views in the morning. The lodge was warm, with central heating throughout, the beds were all very comfortable and extra linen was provided if we required it. Everything was immaculately clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped, we even managed to whip...
