Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here on our way up North just for one night, 2 of us with 4 dogs. Great room, plenty of room for us all. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Can’t fault it. Dinner and breakfast just down the drive, walking distance. We would stay here again.

My friend and I stayed at the Barn Lodge because it was conveniently close to Stirling. Our rooms were a good size and were clean. The bathroom was nice but had no mat on the floor for when you come out of the shower and there were no chairs in the room at all. There was also no food available. We drove to a Premier Inn close by for our breakfast. We were two single people wanting two single rooms, but we were given two double rooms which is what they had left. All in all we felt it was a bit pricey for what it is.

There is a driveway between fields of about 200 yards but you can see the venue from the road. Not far from the motorway as well. Large area for car parking. The rooms are about 4 or 5 smallish units off a courtyard. In the courtyard tables and chairs are provided for the sun trap, smoking and socialising. The rooms are a bit small but warm and comfortable. A good size shower with plenty of hot water. In the cupboard ares we found a fridge which was very useful. These venue is a good base to explore the local area and is away from the noise of city/town distractions and the traffic. At the end of the drive way is a Beefeater/Harvester type venue. One question we always ask ourselves is "Would we stay here again?" The answer is YES.

Booked to watch the Cross Country in Stirling. The Room and location was perfect. Within walking distance of the Brewers Fayre and only 3 miles from the centre of Stirling. Comfy bed and spotlessly clean

We had booked a double room for a local wedding 2 months before and as a courtesy due to running late the day of arrival we called ahead to say we wouldn’t be arriving until that night. Only to be told that our booking hadn’t been recorded and that the room was already taken by someone else. The lady was abrupt and extremely unhelpful. She made me feel like I had made the error despite reading the email correspondence back to her which confirmed our booking. She didn’t give us any alternative accommodation or any help whatsoever despite it being completely the accommodations fault. Totally ruined our weekend and we were unable to find alternative accommodation. I’d advise Jennifer to be a little more empathetic and helpful as I’m sure this isn’t the only time this has happened. Would not recommend.

Response from JenMuirhead1977, Owner at The Barn Lodge
Responded 7 Sept 2018
You sent an email asking about a booking that we already had for another guest. You told us that one of the rooms was for you. When the guest arrived the same day as your arrival and took the two rooms that they had booked it was brought to our attention that the room they had booked hadn’t been for you. The wording of your email in the first point of contact was not clear and we cannot be held responsible for you not being clear!!

We arrived early and caught Jennifer unaware (sorry) because we didn't know how long from Edinburgh it was . She let us into our room and it was definitely delightful. So comfortable- allowed me to have 20 winks before going into Glasgow for dinner. Great area, so very quiet and warm and comfortable ( as it had turned cold). Thank you Jennifer for a great stay will definitely recommend your accommodation to people in NZ coming this way.

Ideal place to stop if you have a dog and want to visit Stirling's attractions such as the castle and the Bannockburn centre. Easy to find and just off the motorway. Well appointed rooms with good facilities. Very helpful with suggestions about the area. No parking charges. Just the job.
