We booked 3 nights with a private owner 87-89 Aberlady Seton Sands, but a W eek before we were due to arrive the Scottish government said we were not allowed to travel into Scotland from England. We asked for a refund and was amazed to find our money back in our account 2 days later. Just wanted to say what fantastic customer service..
We come here every year despite living only 45 mins away. Great location next to the beach. We used this site as a base for our walking challenge from St Andrews to N Berwick being done in stages. We had a great walk to Aberlady and back. our caravan must have been under 6 months old, it was stunning(St Andrews no5) 3 beds and an ensuite. Entertainment was closed due to lockdown but the restaurant was open. As usual every member of staff was amazing. Cant wait till our return visit next year
Fabulous hideaway break for the family. Caravan exceptional and very clean felt safe during Covid. Communication from Haven Excellent throughout. On site facilities limited but store and chip shop open. Great weather for November and very relaxing. Will return.
the park its self was very well looked after. caravan was very basic, bare floors and in seating area . bedroom was nice and warm . if you are going on here take your tea pot there is no pot in this van. not a delux caravan
We have just returned from a weekend at Seton Sands holiday park. When we arrived at our caravan we were greeted by dirt on the floor, crumbs and a fly on the worktops and a door mat covered with hair. I immediately Telephoned the reception and somebody came within five minutes to look at the caravan. They agreed that it was not in acceptable state and we were asked to give them 15 minutes to clean it. They also told us that the microwave was going to be replaced as it was rusty. In this time we had a walk around the park which seemed tired and rundown. We returned to our van 15 minutes later and were much happier with the cleanliness. We also received an apologetic phone call from management who informed us that as part of the haven cleanliness guarantee we would be receiving a full refund for our holiday. We didn’t know about this new guarantee and couldn’t argue with the offer they had made. Later that evening we decided to cook ourselves some food and discovered that the oven had no shelves in it and that there were no baking trays to put food on. We contacted the out of hours team who again very quickly brought us some shelves for the oven and trays for food. However, small details like this should not be overlooked. The caravan itself ( deluxe model) was so basic and lacked standard things such as no bins in the bathroom or bedroom and no side lights in the bedroom and only one plug socket. On the Saturday evening we decided to order fish and chips from the takeaway restaurant. They offered a service where you could pre-order your food for collection. When we arrived to collect our food at the allocated time it was not ready and we were asked to wait outside with around 5 other families also waiting for food. The food then arrived about 15 minutes later. I really felt for the staff in the takeaway who were rushed off their feet and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. The lighting in the park is terrible and we could barely see where we were going when walking around at night time. Overall all staff that we encountered during the weekend were friendly and helpful and you could tell were just doing their best in a bad situation. We stayed at Haggerston Castle at the end of the summer holidays and were blown away by its cleanliness and facilities and will definitely not be visiting Seton Sands again. It reminded more of a hi-de-hi holiday park scenario and really wasn’t the standard we have come to expect from Haven. Such a shame as it is in a perfect location opposite the beach and just a short drive to Edinburgh, but a massive disappointment. …
