We booked 3 nights with a private owner 87-89 Aberlady Seton Sands, but a W eek before we were due to arrive the Scottish government said we were not allowed to travel into Scotland from England. We asked for a refund and was amazed to find our money back in our account 2 days later. Just wanted to say what fantastic customer service..

We come here every year despite living only 45 mins away. Great location next to the beach. We used this site as a base for our walking challenge from St Andrews to N Berwick being done in stages. We had a great walk to Aberlady and back. our caravan must have been under 6 months old, it was stunning(St Andrews no5) 3 beds and an ensuite. Entertainment was closed due to lockdown but the restaurant was open. As usual every member of staff was amazing. Cant wait till our return visit next year

Hi Johnnyboy469 Thank you for reviewing Seton Sands and leaving 5*. It’s lovely to hear that you visit us every year and are still enjoying Seton Sands and it's beautiful surroundings, and enjoyed your walk to Aberlady. Like yourselves we love the location of our park right on the coast and are fortunate to be in central Scotland giving our guests access to a variety of attractions within a short distance of us. I'm thrilled you were pleased with your caravan too. Our Teams are working in extraordinary times and trying their best to make things feel as normal as possible. It’s fantastic to read that you will return once again, hopefully next time we will be able to offer you all our facilities and you will be able to enjoy the full Haven Experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to us next year. Kind regards Pauline

Hello Feefie800 Thank you for leaving a 5* review. It’s great to see you and your family were able to take advantage of this year's November Haven Hideaway Holidays. Although our main facilities are closed for the season our guests have been taking advantage of the fresh air, great coastline and beaches and frequent travel links into Edinburgh. I was glad to read that you were happy with our new systems for communication and that you felt safe with us in these uncertain times. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back soon. Best wishes Pauline

Hello Margaret s Thank you for leaving a review. I was sorry to read that the flooring in the living areas of your caravan was not to your liking. The majority of our caravans have lino flooring in the living, dining and kitchen areas to assist in the ease of cleaning and carpet in the bedrooms for comfort. Although a teapot is not on our inventory list if you were to let us know in advance we could provide one on your next visit. Thank you also for taking the time to appreciate our Grounds Team's hard work. They tend the gardens all year round to keep our park looking its best and I have passed your comments back to them which they thank you for. Kind Regards, Pauline

We have just returned from a weekend at Seton Sands holiday park. When we arrived at our caravan we were greeted by dirt on the floor, crumbs and a fly on the worktops and a door mat covered with hair. I immediately Telephoned the reception and somebody came within five minutes to look at the caravan. They agreed that it was not in acceptable state and we were asked to give them 15 minutes to clean it. They also told us that the microwave was going to be replaced as it was rusty. In this time we had a walk around the park which seemed tired and rundown. We returned to our van 15 minutes later and were much happier with the cleanliness. We also received an apologetic phone call from management who informed us that as part of the haven cleanliness guarantee we would be receiving a full refund for our holiday. We didn’t know about this new guarantee and couldn’t argue with the offer they had made. Later that evening we decided to cook ourselves some food and discovered that the oven had no shelves in it and that there were no baking trays to put food on. We contacted the out of hours team who again very quickly brought us some shelves for the oven and trays for food. However, small details like this should not be overlooked. The caravan itself ( deluxe model) was so basic and lacked standard things such as no bins in the bathroom or bedroom and no side lights in the bedroom and only one plug socket. On the Saturday evening we decided to order fish and chips from the takeaway restaurant. They offered a service where you could pre-order your food for collection. When we arrived to collect our food at the allocated time it was not ready and we were asked to wait outside with around 5 other families also waiting for food. The food then arrived about 15 minutes later. I really felt for the staff in the takeaway who were rushed off their feet and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. The lighting in the park is terrible and we could barely see where we were going when walking around at night time. Overall all staff that we encountered during the weekend were friendly and helpful and you could tell were just doing their best in a bad situation. We stayed at Haggerston Castle at the end of the summer holidays and were blown away by its cleanliness and facilities and will definitely not be visiting Seton Sands again. It reminded more of a hi-de-hi holiday park scenario and really wasn’t the standard we have come to expect from Haven. Such a shame as it is in a perfect location opposite the beach and just a short drive to Edinburgh, but a massive disappointment.

Hi 808RachH Thank you for your review. I was disappointed to read that your caravan wasn't prepared to our ordinarily high standards. We always welcome any chance to help at the time with issues surrounding cleanliness and I was pleased to see that the team were quick to react to this when it was brought to their attention. With reference to your visit to Cooks Fish and Chip Shop I was sorry to learn of your experience and have passed your comments on to the Manager for review. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused. Your feedback with regards to the lighting on park will be reviewed by our Grounds Team to see where improvements could be made. The Team have been working hard to make sure that every guest has an enjoyable stay and to ensure that our guests go home with great memories. I do hope you will accept our assurances that we work hard to provide a high level of service and we hope that despite your present feelings of disappointment you will consider visiting Seton Sands again Best wishes Pauline
