Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I first discovered The Grange when needing to stay close to my daughter/granddaughter's home and it couldn't be more perfect being welcomed by Sarah and shown to our very comfortable room. A short walk through the church grounds and we were back from our visit and fed a lovely breakfast next morning. I hope to be back as soon as I can

Booked as a short 10 min walk to the train station that I needed for my two days away. Got dropped off on my first day and like noted its up a alleyway to the car park entrance. There is a big sign on the road and sat nav took us straight there, so easy to spot. There is parking on site but from what i saw loads of on the street parking, if you needed. There is a side gate that you can use, but would suggest even if you are on foot use the car park gate as it says 'the Grange' on it and the intercom is right next to it. Stuart will show you the side entrance the next morning. Sarah let me in and met me and walked me to the entrance. Gardens look lovely. Check in no bother and left my order for breakfast- they had kippers! - and shown to room. You have keys to get in out of hours but first time I needed to be there before 9pm, which was fine for me. Had Cressey and very nice with look over the garden. Big enough for me and bed was nice (with loads of pillows if thats your thing) and comfy. Bathroom had a nice big shower, with hand and shower gel from M&S. Breakfast was top quality, with Stuart a very good cook and an excellent host (his diet tips will be looked into) . First day I had the full English but was a just a bit too much for me and so slimmed it down the next day. Nice seedy bread and good coffee. All in all a really good stay. The room and breakfast room all had an air of quality and you can see that they have thought about everything to make sure it looks the part. There is even a small reading area with a bar. I would recommend - it was no dearer than any local chain hotels, and was cheaper in cases - and would stay again if my itinerary was the same.

A great place to stay. Comfortable, with excellent facilities. Stuart and Sarah are wonderful hosts. I felt like was a welcome guest in someone’s home. Breakfast was great and they took great care to provide a gluten free option despite me only telling them on my arrival. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights at The Grange in Cressey room, a double room with King sized bed. The room overlooks the garden and is extremely quiet. The owners, Sarah and Stewart were away, however we were looked after extremely well by their daughter, Kate. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable with high quality sheets, pillows and pillowcases. The room was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, safe, iron and ironing board and electric fan. The multi choice breakfast was plentiful and filling. Both mornings we had cooked breakfast, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and porridge were also available. The Grange’s many facilities include a lovely lounge with adjoining honesty bar. Safe car parking behind secure electronic gates, walking distance into the centre of Normanton if required. Overall, a faultless stay in a fabulous B&B.

This is such a lovely house and our room was so comfortable, clean and perfect for our visit. Sarah & Stuart made us very welcome and we felt at home straight away. Our breakfasts were delicious especially Stuart’s home made jam. The extra additions and little touches make it extra special. Thank you for a lovely visit, we will definitely be returning.

3rd time here and already booked for next year. Sarah and her husband make us feel like friends when we visit and they have from the very first time. Nothing is to much trouble and you feel so relaxed and comfortable it's just like being at home. The breakfast is 2nd to none with home grown fruit in the breakfast special and jams and the quality of the bacon and sausage are top rate. Thank you again for another wonderful stay can't wait till next August and for you to meet another couple of our friends 😊 xx

Stayed here for one night to be near a wedding, and wish we could have stayed longer to make use of all the lovely features such as the garden and honesty bar. The set up of the room and guest areas is lovely, and the hosts are wonderful- nothing was too much trouble even though we ended up being a little fussy. I'll definitely be back if in the area again.

If I could give The Grange six stars I would. Sarah and Stuart have created a little oasis of comfort quiet and good food. The room was lovely and well appointed, we were made to feel very welcome and served the most delicious breakfast including home made preserves from home grown fruits. On arrival, we could sit in the garden at the picnic tables to eat the picnic we took with us. Would definitely stay there again if needing a B&B in West Yorkshire.

barbaram259 (2 reviews) Eastbourne I had a very relaxing stay at The Grange. The bed was so comfortable I could have slept all day. Everything was spotless. The breakfast room is full of really beautiful furniture. Kate could not have been more helpful. She cooked a fantastic breakfast and made a very decent pot of tea. I was early for a funeral at the lovely old church next door and Kate very kindly offered to let me use the lounge until it was time to leave. I can definitely recommend. Date of visit: March 2023
