I would recommend anyone to stay at the Downs View B&B! The room (mine was the White Room) was spacious, spotless clean, the bathroom was big with a great walk in shower. Toiletteries were plenty including the mouth wash (great taste!). Although I was leaving earlier than the official brekafast hours, the owner Ron made everything ready so I could... More

I stayed here with friends and I had the yellow room -a lovely bright cheery spacious room. A very comfortable, warm and cozy B&B. Breakfast was amazing, top quality and the full cooked breakfast filled the plate. ( not the half hearted affair you often get!) Would heartily recommend this friendly B&B

Like many travelers on here, we stayed for the night during our walk across the South Downs - what an awesome find. Lesley was just wonderful (and had obviously come across lots of bedraggled walkers before!) - as was her young niece who was helping on the day. Great facilities, including a full size hair dryer and as many tea... More

Spotlessly clean, excellently maintained, friendly proprietors, very good breakfast, good packed lunch for walkers. Can't praise it highly enough. The location is good for walkers on the South Downs Way, and the village has a petrol station (next door) with a minimarket, pubs serving food, a newagent and a chemist.

Downs View was by far the best B&B we stayed in on our walk of the South Downs Way. Excellent standard of rooms, showers etc, excellent breakfast with many nice touches such as cakes and fresh fruit. The standard is far better than many mid range hotels I have stayed in and I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

My two sisters and I stayed in the "Pink Room" and it was lovely. B & B is very conveniently located to downtown and the restaurants/pubs. Lesley and Ron were great and we couldn't believe the breakfast! Lesley makes everything herself from the flapjacks to the bread to the stewed plums. What a great send off to the trail (which... Lesley and Ron are so nice. We walked from houghton down to upper beeding. Due to some miscalculations by our travel agency the distance was double as far as we have prepared for. My girlfriend got a huge blister. Ron helped us for the next day transport since she was able to walk the next day. Thanks again. Breakfast perfect... More

We were walking the South Downs Way and stopped here overnight. Convenient location. One of the best B&Bs of the whole walk. Excellent rooms, spacious, good facilities. Good hosts, excellent breakfast. Definitely recommended.

It is impossible to find a fault. Spotlessly clean, welcoming, great food and Ron.....what can one say about Ron !! Ron, your choice of black pudding is yummy. One tiny, tiny gripe. The mouth wash is an acquired taste and we did not acquire it. The scissors provided to open the normally impossible to open sachets of breakfast sauces, are... More
