A beautifully imbedded place in the hills of north Cornwall. Friendly owners made available a well-equipped cottage ideally suited for our family 5 including 2 small children. Very pleasant spa and swimming facilities and 4 fishing lakes.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your warm lodge and comfortable beds – and we agree we are in a beautiful location! With regards to the swimming pool, the recommended temperature for commercial pools is 28 degrees (maximum 29 degrees) and ours is a constant 28.5 degrees. Bacteria, algae and other organisms can thrive in warm water conditions and so our pool is maintained correctly for the comfort and safety of our guests. Of course the pool can feel cooler if used after the hot tub or sauna. The tennis court net is renewed every few years and we cannot agree that it is “rotten”. The current net is intact and up and the court is regularly used. Also the seesaw was not condemned – the note given to guests, and the verbal explanation to you by us, explained that it is due a repair and service after a long season and that you should only use it at your own risk. Finally, with regards to the rogue sock under the bed, we apologise. All of our accommodation is thoroughly cleaned between guests and our high cleanliness standard is often praised. We consistently achieve 100% for cleanliness from Visit England and have done for many, many years and even featured in an article by them as an example for other self-catering operators to aspire to.
