Clean, light, airy, spacious, large room, good bed, peaceful, good breakfast, huge shared area with fridge and kettle, excellent host. Excellent value. The simple breakfast (included) served on the lovely terrace overlooking the majestic Sainte Baume was typical country french and a delight. Slept four nights with the french doors, overlooking the mountain, wide open and never saw a bug....

We were hiking the Grand Randonee 9 in the backcountry. This property is very close to the trail. The hostess was very helpful and gracious, provided a drier for our wet clothes and aperitifs for us, and speaks English well. The house itself is an exceptionally large and attractive version, light and airy, of traditional Provençal architecture with beautiful views...

I slept there for one night, during a Mountain Bike trip of two days. The owner was really welcoming. She offered me a glass of juice when I just arrived. The place is really quiet, inside and outside are stunning. The view of the Ste Baume is a must seen ! All around you it's mostly only nature. You can...

We had scheduled a one night stay at the Maison Rouge with my wife Ghislaine, but we felt so well there, that we decided to stay one more night despite the difficulties to fit in schedule. The magnificent landscape from the room, the generous space it offers, the vast living room, the quietness of the place, the light and fresh...

A beautiful house close to L'Aups. Very relaxed - breakfast whenever you want, the hosts know exactly when you'd like to chat or rather like to be on your own. Spacious rooms, decorated in light wood, with great view into garden and to the St. Baume mountains. Sitting on the porch with the hosts is a perfect way to start...

We came to Maison Rouge after a very stormy day, driving through the winding mountain road with no clear view, in the dark, and with disconnected telephone lines...when we finally reached Plan-d'Aups, we were starving and all the restaurants were closed...Sylvie showed us great hospitality, she made us a wonderful dinner, and really cared for us. It was great talking...

I suspect I may not be the only TA user who has confused the two Maison Rouge B&Bs listed on TripAdvisor?? One is in Aix (but is now closed?) and the other, while in the Provence area, is in Plan D'Aups, Sainte Baume, more than an hour drive away from Aix. It will come up as Aix in the search,...

Super cute and very cozy. Loved the owner and her son, very hospitable and friendly and made scrumptious breakfast! If you like to be in the middle of nowhere with peace and quiet, and have a fantastic view its wonderful. Its quite a mountain road drive to and from the place if you are going anywhere near such as Aix-en-Provence...

We had a most wonderful stay here at Maison Rouge. We only wish we could have stayed here longer than just one night. Tucked away in the mountains, the location of this B&B was a refreshing change in scenery from the ubiquitous farmlands and fields of Provence (of course, those are beautiful, too). It was a little bit of a...

Preconceptions of Provence can be put aside arriving at Maison Rouge, high up in the mountains realizing you are in a very special place, a very special house. The monastery of Marie-Madeleine appearing vaguely as a fable on the north side of Saint-Beaume, the sister mountain of Cezanne‘s St. Victoire. The house itself a masterpiece of carpentry inside, humble but...
