Forced to find a hotel due to a maintenance emergency at home, we came across The Angel Inn. The place has more of a B&B feel to it, but is a 3* at best. Although the entrance/reception are is well used, at least the rooms are clean and comfortable. I did not like the fact that the teabags were stored in a tupperware container which was in need of a clean, but on the whole it wasn't bad value. The shower power is really good which is rather important to me.

The room was very small and very basic. Wasn’t unclean as people have said, but the room and bathroom especially were tiny. The bed was comfortable enough and there was a TV and tea and coffee facilities. The shower was surprisingly good in comparison to the rest of the room. Good if you need somewhere cheap for one night only, but it is more like a hostel than a hotel.

When we arrived, we tried to open the door, but can only be opened from the inside unless you have a key card.
When we were let in, he came across quite pleasant, he asked how we were paying,
I said by card, and he added an extra £5.80 on to bill. The machine took nearly 10 minutes to work. We were given our key card, I had to ask which was our room. I felt like we were in a halfway house. We got to our room, not particularly nice, our window faced a brick wall, with not much light. The blind didn't go all the way up, so still quite dark. The flooring was carpet tiles, not even stuck down, and a do it yourself made bed, that was really not comfortable, a cheap memory foam mattress. The coffee facilities were cheap. tea bags, not in any sort of packaging, just tea bags, the bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, the sink was a hand basin, not big enough to really have a shave, or wash your face, if needed to. The shower was reasonably powerful, but not very hot. We went on to a veranda type balcony (as we are smokers) and the sight was horrific, old doors, empty beer kegs, co2 bottles, pallets, rusty saw, and a lot more rubbish, and some chap walking about smoking a joint, seemed like he was a resident. The emergency stairs was some makeshift scaffold metal stairs. If you have children I would strongly advise not to take them to this place.

As we were going to a festival, he said he was a taxi driver and would give us a lift. Had no idea where he was going, took us to some random house. Charged us a tenner, this was fine, then when he picked us up tried to charge us more. He isn't even a registered taxi driver.

Half of the plug sockets didn't work properly, so phone did not charge, which was frustrating.

When we got back to our room, the bed was made and that was it. The coffee cups weren't washed, toilet not cleaned. It was vile. Then all we could smell was cooking smells.

They have done the bare minimum to pass any checks they may have.
They also lived there, which when we arrived, he said he didn't???

Since coming home, my partner has done a search on company house, and does not seem to be registered. Please be careful if staying here as they are not registered.

Its not a b&b as no breakfast is offered, has nothing to qualify this being a hotel.

No receipt given so would not know what the registration is.

The area is not a great area, as this backs on to berrylands council estate, which I have since learnt, not a great area.
They also offer on street parking, think not, as this is a normal housing street where anyone can park. He even said we were lucky to get a space as other people have parked on other streets (really would not advise).

So to summarise.
No bannister on stairs
Dirty
Overpriced,
No service,
Dirty/filthy out the back as well as health and safety issue
Will tell anyone to avoid.

Stayed at this hotel last month and it was ok for what I wanted just staying a couple of nights visiting my girlfriend. Have stayed in much better for a similar price but this Is not the problem. I had booked to stay again on July 6th booked the room and the rate was 240.00 got up Saturday morning to find nearly £500.00 taken from my account went to my bank who told me the bull and bush had taken the money (sister hotel) tried to ring the angel but my calls were ignored have now tried ringing 26 times and still no reply have left e-mails and several messages on phone but still nothing. I have got through to the bull and bush who said they don't know why that was taken but it was only a pre authorisation and the money would be in my account went to the bank but no money and nothing pending. I have no way of travelling now as they have taken all my money i'm only 19 so don't have a lot but had enough to spend a nice few days with my girlfriend. They have been nothing but unhelpful and i am sure it is going to be a right hassle to get my money back from the lack of communication saying they will phone me back and not bothered. The group of hotels they run must be full of morons if they cannot even get taking the payment right. I WILL get a full refund whatever it takes and will never stay in any of there hotels again bunch of clowns.
thank you for ruining my holiday

Stayed here as it was right near Chessington World of Adventures. Upon checking in we asked to pay by card but were told cash only or to pay on their website (which they blatantly have not got) however there will be an additional charge for that. We said we'd pay by cash and the woman at the desk said that would be fine and to pay before we checked out.......however when we went out for a meal that evening we got an angry phone call from who I guess was the manager demanding to know when we would be coming back that night and that we were to not come back late. We pretty much told him to do one.

The rooms are small. My friends booked a family room which was shocking. The single bed was just a mattress on some sort of desk. The mattress may well of not have even been there. Really uncomfortable. Their toilet looked like a walk in wardrobe converted into a toilet/shower. All beds were uncomfortable. Bathrooms were similar to prison cell toilets, kettle and coffee were nowhere near a plug in our room and tray was filthy. They are either on a super tight budget or are just really tight themselves. I'd recommend getting arrested and locked up for the night as the comfort of a 6x9 cell exceeds this place. Avoid if you have a family. OK if you're not fussed about comfort etc....

I booked into this hotel for 1 night 2 weeks ago,
When we arrived the reception would not accept card she wanted cash (I wonder why)
Then when we went up to our rooms the hallway stunk of sweat and I just thought it must be a place where a lot of workmen stay when they are working away,
Then when we got into our room the window was wide open and the room stunk even worse than the hallway, there was no way me and my girlfriend could of stayed in the room,
for the money I knew the room was going to be basic which is was and I wasn't bothered about that but it's the first time I have been in a room and it had a smell like that, it was absolutely disgusting, I contacted booking.com and asked for a refund before I wrote this review because I wanted to go about it in the right way,
the owner has wrote back to booking saying the room didn't smell and the room had been used??? So we can't get a refund!!! He has lied and as we was in the room for A few minutes and the room did smell very bad, it's the first time this has happened to
Me and I stay in hotels all the time,

Due to traffic we had travelled over 5 hours from Huddersfield and we came to see and have that in our
Room. It's not on and fair

Please don't stay here

BEYOND DISGUSTING!!!
Booked to stay here with my boyfriend and my little girl as it was local and close to Chessington world of adventures.
We booked it through booking.com as it wasn’t far from Chessington and had a ‘pleasant’ rating of 6 on the site.
Now I wasn’t expecting much for the price we paid £69 but I What I was expecting was a basic clean room..
I am no snob but as we walked into the reception I noticed it didn’t look the cleanest of places, thick dust on the reception counter and on top on a random dirty fridge in the corner of the room and it stunk of sweat and B.O.
I wish I had just taken my family walked straight back out the door there and then.
When we got in our room I instantly noticed the bed made with make up all over the sheets.
My boyfriend went down to reception and the women (owners wife) came upstairs and said she would change the bedding and she had just made the bed and it was an old stain, in disbelief I said and “do you think that’s ok to put stained bedding on a paying guests bed?” To which she just shrugged and said “I’m changing it”.
When I took a closer look at the make up ‘stain’ it in fact wasn’t a stain and was clearly fresh foundation that hadn’t been washed!!!
As she changed then bedding I then saw the disgusting stained brown and yellow duvet and pillows underneath the sheets and felt instantly sick
I said “this is disgusting and you are violating basis hygiene standards”,
She then told me that she had just cleaned the room herself which made me furious as it was beyond filthy.
Anyway she didn’t seem to care, she offered us another room to which we declined and said “we want a refund as you couldn’t pay us to stay here with our child under any circumstances”
As I looked around the room I then saw tea or coffee stains up the walls, dirty sticky marks all over the wood above the plug sockets and a filthy bathroom to say the least.
There was grime around the plug holes, and shower head, pubic hair on the shower base and the toilet as you can see in the picture looked like it had never been cleaned.
The more I think about the state of the room there was absolutely noway she had changed the bedding or even attempted to clean that room, it had just been remade after the last person had slept in it.
The carpet had old bits of food all over it, the plug in fan had a thick sheet of dust resting on top of it.
When I opened the fridge i was shocked my the amount of mould I saw festering in corner of the door and at the big brown liquid marks it had inside it aswell.
Even the mugs next to the kettle were dirty inside.

The owner came to talk to us after we demanded a refund and said he would process it to which he did and rightly so!
They didn’t look embarrassed or ashamed of themselves as I’m guessing these complaints must happen all the time!

We then went back onto booking.com and booked to stay in a holiday inn hotel which was about a 25minutes drive away and I had honestly never been so relived to walk into a clean hotel.

I am beyond annoyed that they are making money of paying guests to stay in these rancid conditions.

To think that they are ok with little children sleeping in dirty bed sheets and using dirty facilities to was in is disgusting and makes my blood boil!

This place needs shutting down and I have contacted trading standards about it to avoid anyone eles being scammed by these disgusting people and potentially getting ill at the hands of their dirty unhygienic premises.

ANGEL INN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Filthy horrible place.
I wish I had taken more picture to really show them up but I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
