Come and stay with us. We’re an hour or so from London on the beautiful Sussex coast, just over the road from an amazing sandy beach. Leave the kids at home, but don’t come just to escape. Come here to remember. Sand slipping between your toes. Wide skies and fresh, salt-laced air. Food and wine from nearby land and sea. The feeling of time stretching, not rushing. Life in the moment. Everything for my stay worked very well and all the staff were very helpful. In particular I would mention Nikita on reception and Anna at the breakfast service. I found the room good and the mattress very comfortable. Covid measures were comforting and the food fine again considering the special problems posed by the pandemic. We will be back.

Stayed only one night and regretted not staying longer. Hotel right opposite the beach, very tastefully decorated throughout. Absolutely delicious food at the restaurant and great cocktails at the bat. Impeccable service and very friendly too.

Visiting when these damn restrictions were still in place (obviously not their fault), it was frustrating not to have access to their full facilities, and especially annoying not to be able to see the faces of our hosts even outdoors (who comes up with this stuff?). Instead we were restricted to our room, which was delightful. Tastefully furnished and decorated with super-cute touches everywhere, lovely bathroom, separate shower and loo and a lovely little terrace garden accessed through french doors. Staff were first rate, food very good indeed (room service only at the time) and just a 5 minute walk to the enormous sandy beach. All very good. The downside? Well, mostly that this fantastic upmarket boutique hotel is by the side of a noisy road in an area rather downmarket. A brightly coloured Pontin's just down the road sets the scene, as does the cafe opposite, but of course you can forget all that sitting in your private little garden. But the lorries trundling past, motorbikes etc., were pretty loud and prevented our early evening drinks being tranquil. Overall we were very impressed with the place, just amazed that such a large investment was made in a less-than-ideal location. But then they're booked all summer, so clearly it doesn't matter!

A wonderful brief stay, our room was clean and attention to detail delightful, staff could not do more helpful and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Sun was shining, sea was glistening - what more could you ask for :)

We had a wonderful stay at the Gallivant. We’ve eaten there before but not stayed. So we knew the food would be extraordinarily good (and it was). The service during our stay was of an equally high standard. The room was lovely, breakfast was fantastic and my wife even did a yoga class! And it’s a great base for gastronomic/wine tourism in the area. We’ll be doing this again!
