Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just back from two nights at The Cross. Feeling very relaxed! Terri is a fantastic host, great welcome with tea and scones. A delicious and very fresh breakfast and a very well stocked bar to enjoy a drink in the lounge in the evening. Our rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable and we had a good couple of nights sleep. Well couldn’t have asked for a better break.

Have to say we have never done a B&B, but with 5 of us we couldn't fine anywhere around to accommodate, wow is all I can say, Terri was so helpful and will definitely being doing more often after this stay. Terri was amazing, nothing was to much trouble. Cozy room, amazing breakfast and warm scone on arrival. Will be recommending to friends and family.

Our family of 2 adults and 1 child spent 2 nights at The Cross. I couldn’t believe all the 5 star reviews could possibly be right, but they are! The rooms are immaculately clean. We stayed in the family room, Chew, which has a separate bedroom with 2 single beds. Tea, coffee and drinking water provided. Room was warm on the cold nights. The whole house is so warm and inviting. The host was very welcoming. The rooms are nicer than the photos show. Breakfast was an absolute highlight, everything you could wish for. The bacon was so delicious my daughter ate 4 slices on the second day! Everything felt so clean and well thought out. We had lovely quiet nights, yes there is a small amount of road noise. But I am a very light sleeper and it didn’t bother me at all.

We found this place last minute and stayed 1 night, I have to say it is the cutest, most comfortable little bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Rooms are clean, spacious and every little detail has been thought of, bathroom and kitchenette has every thing you need. The courtyard garden is just the prettiest and the village in general is stunning. Beds and pillows are really comfortable. It's a cosy delight, and the breakfast was well cooked, delicious and plentiful. Tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and pastries, and if that's not enough, you also get a cooked breakfast of your choice. The honesty bar is a great touch and there is a reading nook with books and games. The host is friendly and accommodating and very reasonably priced, its clear to see why this place is award winning, we will 100% come back. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed, I wasn't, and as a rule I'm really hard to please!!

An exceptional bed and breakfast. Can’t fault a thing. Terri provided an extremely warm welcome. Would 100% stay again when in the area. The bedroom and bathroom was of an excellent standard as was the breakfast. Thoroughly recommend.

This place is lovely. A real find. The rooms we had was great. Had everything we needed. Terri was a great help. So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely and you had lots of options to choose from. The church bells ringing on a Sunday morning made it feel extra special. The only downside was the parking. You have 2 bays on site and the rest is street parking which is hard to do as the residents also park there.

Room Tip: Parking can be a little troublesome as there isn’t enough spaces and you have to park on the road.

A friend and I stayed 3 nights for a car club event at the nearby showground. We were in Yeo and Brue rooms. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Comfy beds with lovely, clean linen. We were given a cream tea on arrival, which was most welcome after a 5 hour journey. The garden is a lovely quiet oasis. Terri is a great host and very knowledgeable about the area. She recommended a couple of excellent restaurants in nearby Wells, which is a beautiful city. First class breakfast every day with a wide choice of continental and cooked options. Digby the cat is also very friendly! I would certainly return and am looking to do just that in the near future with my Wife.

What a lovely place - Terri the owner really goes out of her way to make sure her guests have a good stay. The rooms are beautiful and really comfortable and there's a pleasant back garden and shared lounge. The village is very pretty. I don't drive but it's on a regular bus route between Wells and Bath - it's about an hour's (pleasant) walk from Wells so it's a really good choice if you want to explore the area. There's a great pub just round the corner from the Cross that does good food
