This hotel appears to have gone into liquidation. I received information luckily before I travelled there. I did not receive information from hotel but from liquidation company. You cannot get hold of anyone from hotel. The website is still up and running??? I feel disappointed that no one from hotel had common decency to contact us. Or at least inform people by website

Booked a reservation over four weeks ago now advised that the Tennants Arms will be closed late September and therefore they have cancelled our booking. A quick look at their web page and guess what? Yes they are still taking later books at higher prices. So would guess that they have double booked us. Spoke to their receptionist two weeks ago and no mention was made of any closure. Have stayed here before but will NOT be doing so in the future! A despicable way to treat people who have acted in good faith. Do not deserve anyones custom. AVOID.

We have just returned from what should have been a very enjoyable and memorable 3 day break in the Yorkshire Dales to celebrate our wedding anniversary . We booked a room at the Tennant Arms at the end of June and have really looked forward to our stay there. Unfortunately things did not quite turn out as we expected. We arrived ready to check in on Friday 3rd September only to find a notice attached to the front door stating that due to a lack of staff the hotel had had to close until further notice. Having travelled up from the midlands on that day we were now faced with having nowhere to stay on a very busy weekend . We tried several times to contact the number for the hotel with no success and during this time 4 other couples turned up at the hotel all with weekend bookings. After checking our email account we found that 2 emails had been to us sent around 10.45 that same morning after we had set out on our journey. Unfortunately we had no WiFi connection to able to read them until we had arrived at the hotel. We then discovered that having paid a deposit at the time of booking our balance of payment had been taken from our account without notice and so we had paid for 3 nights accommodation that was no longer available to us. We realise that over the past 12/18 months things have been difficult for the hospitality industry but to treat people in this way is disgraceful. Common courtesy doesn’t cost anything surely a phone call from the owners to explain the situation would have been in order but we feel that we have been extremely badly treated and would hope that this doesn’t happen to other people in the near future. One email we received informed us that they are now in liquidation so we hope that our experience and this review will help others not to book this accommodation and have to suffer the stress and disappointment we have just been through.

A few months ago I stayed nearby and popped in for some food on a Saturday evening. I ordered fish and chips, but then waited perhaps 40mins for it to arrive. The chips were listed as triple-fried, but in fact were hardly single-fried, very soggy and oily/greasy. Accompanying them was what looked like a large battered piece of fish. However upon dissecting the batter I had trouble in finding any fish at all! All-in-all the most awful fish and chips I have ever had. If only I had driven to the fish & chips shop in Grassington!

We stumbled across this hotel by accident as it was one of the few we could find online with a family room available. Hotel was superb, room of a large size, very comfy with the best room amenities I have seen anywhere, including complementary Nespresso, always a winner for me! Went to the bar for food and drink in the evening and again food superb and surprising selection of beers too. Dan and Kim were absolutely superb during our stay, cannot recommend them and this pub/hotel highly enough.
