Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Lovely B&B situated in the lovely village of Buckden. Very comfortable room and breakfast was excellent. The hosts Paul and Angela are extremely helpful, they helped me sort out my broken car and dry my wet waterproofs after a long day in the hills. They go well beyond the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommended and would happily visit again.

Agree with all the positive comments made previously. Angela was very welcoming and it was great to get home baking with tea. The room was perfect and all food ( breakfast, baking and packed lunch) was outstanding. Extra touches such as coffee machine and fresh milk in a flask were great. Also very reasonably priced for the standard of accommodation. Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed overnight here while walking the Dalesway and what an excellent choice it was. Angela was the perfect host. The accomodation is very comfortable with quality fixtures and fittings. It is totally separate from the rest of the house on a separate landing with your own bathroom. Just what we needed after a long days walking. Quiet and peaceful and Angela made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. We also paid for a packed lunch which was very nice with gluten free brownies! It kept us going for 2 days! Thanks again Angela and Paul for your hospitality!

Stayed one night - four of us - walking the Dales Way. From arrival to departure Angela went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Tea and award-winning muffins in the garden on arrival were a real treat. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms perfect. We hope to come back.

Very friendly and helpful host. For the price the accommodation was of an exceptionally high standard. Room was very clean and comfortable. We had our own separate landing and bathroom. Only a very short walk from the Buck Inn for food and refreshment. Delicious plentiful breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here whilst walking the Dales Way. Gorgeous, clean rooms with comfy beds. Lovely, friendly welcome from Angela with cake and a hot drink. The garden was beautiful and full of spring colour. Breakfast was tremendous - lots of choice and delicious. I had porridge, and then the most amazingly rich and yellow scrambled eggs from Angela’s shared hens, with garlic roasted cherry tomatoes. Yum! Great packed lunch - hummus and falafel sandwich was super tasty. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with a friend for a night whilst walking the Dales Way. It's a lovely B&B! Angela was very welcoming and the homemade cake was delicious. We were using Sherpa van to transport our luggage and that was super easy. Breakfast and our packed lunches were both delicious. I'm really glad we stayed here, we went to a recommended pub for our evening meal which was very close with lots of options.

We stayed at West Winds during our Dales Way walk. Angela could not have been more welcoming. She has really put herself into the shoes (boots!) Of the weary walker and thought of so many details. Our stay was a delight from the moment she welcomed us into her beautiful kitchen until she waved us off the next day. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and full of lovely touches including a scrap book on local history, playing cards, spare toiletries. Bathroom very modern and well equipped. The tea and muffin on arrival were so welcome. Breakfast was homemade bircher muesli (so good, we copied the recipe and I made some yesterday!) . Our packed lunch was outstanding. I just can't fault this place and planning to return already. Thanks Angela!
