An amazing place in the middle of nowhere (certainly as far as a phone signal is concerned!) Beautiful apartment, spotless and comfortable. Fascinating location on a working but unique eco-farm. Fabulous walks (yes, we did see red squirrels), excellent hosts, random encounters with chickens; amazing art & wildlife information in the room off the public footpath. Great location for days out to explore the stunning countryside of the Dales. We'll be back soon I hope to this very special place.
We staying for a week in the Easter Holidays and it was brilliant. Lovely location if you want to get away from it all and very clean and well equipped. Home from home. Our 9 year old daughter loved the chickens and the fresh eggs and homemade flapjack are superb. I would have given 5 out of 5 just because the king size mattress was a bit soft for me and I think could do with replacing. But I must stress that the bedroom is gorgeous and bed ok.. the sheets and quilt georgous cotton so i still slept well. The only other issue is that there is some damp at the very bottom of the house- you cannot smell this once you have gone upstairs to the main part of the house, but it probably does need sorting. Again, just honest feedback but it ABSOLUTELY didn't affect our stay at all. I would come back and would recommend to others.…
We stayed for a week in The Byre. It was well-equipped with high quality fittings, including very good bedding and towels. Everything we could want was included together with a welcome basket of home made bread, farm eggs and cake. Good towel rails, very warm duvets, efficient heating and a log burner. Weather was good apart from one day of continuous rain when we appreciated the warmth and comfort. Hosts very helpful and great to have use of the nature barn. Walking from the door and Hawes only 8 miles away. Very quiet with a half mile drive leading to the road at Oughtershaw. Would definitely return. Also dog friendly.
Stopped on our way past whilst doing the Dalesway. A welcoming place in an inhospitable day with worse to come as we crossed Cam Fell. Lots of info and the honesty cafe served us very well at a low point in the afternoon.. Thank you!
Have just returned home from Nethergill Farm and I already want to go back. The owners are so warm, welcoming and unobtrusive and answer any needs swiftly and professionally. Nothing was too much trouble and there is an information centre within the building with lots of local maps and information about local wildlife. The building itself was spotlessly clean, large, beautifully decorated with the owners art work and the kitchen in particular was well designed and well stocked. I spent lots of time just staring out of the windows at the beautiful views. The owners provide freshly baked bread and eggs at a small extra cost and It was also a delight to get home after a day of exploring and be able to light a fire. We slept so much better than we have in years! Being in such a good locale it was easy to get out and about but you can also spend days at the farm exploring and watching birds and animals from the bird hides. It was a real treat for our daughter to spend a week with animals on the doorstep. We intended to have the week away from technology but the internet was fast and useful when we did need it.…
