The DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House is celebrated for its picturesque location and stylish atmosphere, encompassing modern and clean rooms with updated decor. The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a well-equipped gym, although opinions are divided on the spa and pool, with some guests disappointed by additional fees and spa conditions. While the cleanliness of the hotel generally earns praise, room quality seems inconsistent, ranging from comfortable with exceptional views to some that are cramped and less well-kept. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting with reports of unresponsiveness.

I have stayed here 6 or 7 times now for both work and leisure and I can honestly say it never disappoints.
This visit was for a weekend leisure break, check in and room choice was done prior to arrival via the Hilton Honors App. We arrived early but fortunately the room was ready so was able to go and make good use of the pool, sauna and hot tub.
The hotel bar is very relaxed and has a pool table. In the evening had a reservation at the Marco Pierre White Restaurant which is a little overpriced but the food, as always was excellent. If this is not your thing there is also the option of the Sports Club Restaurant where they do very nice pizzas and is a little cheaper.
The room was spotless, with all the usual facilities you would expect from a Hilton Hotel and as always the staff are very welcoming and can’t do enough for you. What really makes this place special though is the stunning views from the rooms at the front of the hotel.
The Hotel is also a great way to start your holiday if you are travelling from Bristol Airport, which is about a ten to fifteen minute drive away.
Will definitely be back.

Me and me partner spent 4 days here instead of holidaying abroad but I have to say I’ve really enjoyed it. Hotel itself is clean, extra Covid safety measures being taken into consideration. Masks indoors, breakfast plated up for you, tables, chairs condiments cleaned so overall very safe and comfortable. We stayed in deluxe king size room which was spacious and clean. Amazing powerful shower but I have to say awful pillows (soooo soft) we did request firmer pillows but housekeeping brought us 2 even softer ones which made zero sense. The hotel is situated in the most beautiful part of the country and we have ventured out near and far and we have loved every single minute of it. We also ate at the Marco Pierre White steak restaurant during our stay which was also truly excellent. Everyone here has been so friendly and overall we have had an wonderful 4 day break.

The hotel is set within lovely grounds, check was quick and easy and its a nice touch to receive the warm cookies on arrival.

Due to covid you need to remember to request housekeeping the night before as they do not clean daily as standard. You also have to book timeslots in order to use the facilities i.e. gym and pool, while it is understandable it means you are always led by times rather than the usual relaxing stay.

Breakfast was good with plenty of choice with good service. However, the same cannot be said for the bar service in the evening. After spending a day out we returned back to the hotel Sunday evening to find that Bardollino's restaurant closed at 16:30 which left the bar service only (we had chosen not to book a table at Marco's restaurant as we didn't want to be tied to times, The bar was uncomfortably cold due to the air conditioning and service was appalling. We had to request the table was cleaned after waiting a good 15-20 minutes to order food and drinks despite the bar being quiet. The food was mediocre at best and considering it was from the Marco Pierre White menu, it was disappointing. The staff were too busy chatting too even come and clear the table never mind trying to order a dessert.

The hotel itself was good for bed and breakfast and is in lovely grounds but would recommend eating elsewhere of an evening, however taxi's can be pricey so be prepared to drive.

Booked 2 rooms for my family just after Xmas. Nice grounds and ok facilities. Staff were very friendly. As a Hilton Diamond member I've stayed at Hilton's all over the globe and this has to be the noisiest (btw - no upgrade). The walls are very thin so if you're a light sleeper you'll struggle. Also, over the 2 nights we stayed both our rooms were not cleaned adequately. Housekeeping did a poor job of cleaning the bathroom and they didn't pick up small bits of paper on the floor, and left used glasses and cups from the first night.
Breakfast was ok, nothing great. Very busy at breakfast so there were queues at the coffee machine, and breakfast items that ran out weren't replenished quick enough

We arrived and the hotel is beautiful! the exterior is lovely, and the inside bar area and the rooms are really nice. It was the service I was most disappointed in. The staff were very nice, no doubt, however we had ordered room service one evening and I ordered dinner in the evening. I ordered olives which they forgot to put with the meal. The next morning I asked reception to arrange a re-stock of teabags, soaps etc. When we came back to our room that evening, the room service tray had still not been cleared away. The teabags were just dumped on the desk and it was very slapdash. I did speak to reception who apologized.
In the bar area, again the staff were pleasant, however, the service skills were a little lacking. There was no tequila left for cocktails and we were charged extra for a more expensive tequila to make cocktails with, which isn't an issue, however through no fault of ours, yet we still had to pay. we ordered a coffee, to which when the waiter bought it over, it spilled out of the cup and just said "sorry i'm feeling a bit clumsy today" and half the coffee was in the saucer but no "i'll get you another one". The tables weren't cleared, and they weren't particularly busy. We were the only ones in on Sunday night and yet had to sit with shelled prawn under our nose for an hour or so. I'm honestly not one to moan normally, but just felt for the name the little service touches were lacking.
Another thing to note is although the restaurant may be full, you can order in the bar area with the same menu and we weren't told this by the staff but another guest. other than that, it was a pleasant stay. The beds are very comfortable.

We had high hopes from previous reviews and ratings. Obviously COVID has taken its toll on customer service and room cleaning had to be requested on a daily basis rather than being the norm. One breakfast tea bag plus two milks on arrival meant we had to start a series of visits to reception just to have tea in our room. The bathroom shampoo etc was fairly minimal given no daily top ups. The toilet seat was cheap plastic ware and even the toilet paper was low budget stuff. Also the shower tray creaked! For the price we'd expected a bit more luxury than was delivered. To be fair the grounds were superb , shame about the hotel room.

I have to leave a review for such an exceptional memory . One night in this beautiful setting was exciting . We were upgraded to a deluxe king.
Unfortunately, within an hour of being in the hotel I’d fallen, slipped and quite badly cut my hand.
Staff were quick to attend . The young man from the bar who had worked as a first responder helped clean me up and it was unluckily for me a trip to the A & E department .
After sitting in Bristol hospital for 5 hours it was clear we were going to miss out on our night in the hotel.
My partner and I had breakfast and asked the manager of the hotel if we could stay and extra night, she happily obliged at a 50 percent discounted rate . The bar manager came and asked if I was ok and it’s those nice gestures that really helped in this situation. ( thank you)
We booked into the Marco Pierre restaurant and enjoyed a beautiful steak with exceptional service all round. Breakfast left us with full belly’s and the option to enjoy the spa as part of the hotel stay is a very good idea . The spa is beautiful from beginning to end . This hotel is a lovely haven to relax and lots of different ways to enjoy a romantic break away, with the gardens and stunning resort is perfect for a luxury getaway.
This hotel has some fantastic memories for us , even if I did hurt my hand .
The only suggestion on that aspect is, I would consider some lighting at night (strip or LED) on the platform veranda outside where i fell. I could say I was enjoying the view but I just didn’t see the step up.
Thank you, we will be back soon .

The room was nice and clean. However, the foldout sofa/bed had some pieces of metal sticking out the sides which aren't ideal for a child to be on or near. Someone had tried to put some black tape over a couple of these possibly to prevent more serious injury. The beds were uncomfortable.

Breakfast was ok (included with our stay), but there didn't appear to be anything reasonably priced for lunch or dinner. As the restaurants are Marco Pierre White establishments, £13 for a sandwich at lunch seems on the high side. Dinner was equally expensive in the main restaurant, although it was a treat, 2 steak dinners and a macaroni cheese, with a few drinks came to £112. The other nights we found a nearby local pub to eat at which offered good family food at a good price.

The hotel appears more suited to business users rather than families in my opinion, as it didn't seem very welcoming.

We were woken several times during our 4 night stay, as the hotel has it's bins emptied at a ridiculous time of the day. Three large bins of glass bottles were emptied at 5.50am one morning and must of woken up half of the hotel. You can often hear bins being wheeled around outside after this as well.

Our garden view room which we selected didn't overlook the garden. It pointed towards the garden, but all we saw was the car park. Picture attached.

I wouldn't recommend staying here.

This hotel has the potential to be amazing, it is set in beautiful grounds with lovely views of the surrounding countryside but unfortunately on our recent stay it was let down by cleaning standards and room problems! 3 of them in fact!

Firstly I must say that I couldn’t fault the spa, we booked a time slot due to COVID-19 restrictions and everything was very well organised. The staff were really helpful and polite and were constantly cleaning so everything was wiped down and safe.

We checked in early and were happy to find our room was ready but when we got in we realised we were given a room in the older part of the hotel when we had booked one of the newly renovated rooms and on top of that there was a puddle on the bathroom floor from a leak. The reception quickly changed our room which was much nicer and newer however, as we went to unpack we discovered some dirty socks on the floor and some clothes a previous guest had left in the wardrobe. This is all despite the cleaning seal unbroken across the door. We thought we must be lucky with Room number 3 & we were until whilst getting ready for dinner Upstairs must have had a shower and the ceiling started to drip - another leak!

By the time we got to room number 4 we were kind of over it. The general manger of guest services Monika was lovely and very helpful so credit to her and the reception staff just such a shame though that they were let down by the other problems.

My partner and I had been brought a night away for our anniversary. (Our first night away in a long long time!)
When we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely chap, who helped us check in and gave us a complementary warm cookie (which was a lovely touch)
We then got to our room, it was covered in valentines confetti from the night previous. My partner found the bag of half opened confetti on the sofa. Now we are not petty, the room apart from this was clean and we did not want to complain and cause a fuss. But the house keepers surly know what a hoover is?!
During our stay a friend had messaged me to tell me about her day at the Hilton spa the day previous, she basically said not to bother going to the spa! There were kids running around screaming and there was a que to enter the hot tub/sauna, to save disappointment we decided to go to the bar instead.
After a few drinks we decided to go and get ready for our meal booked at the Marco pierre white restaurant, we were really excited about eating there.
When we got to the restaurant, we were greeted by a lady who was very helpful and told us about the drinks offers available.
Then it came to choosing our food, My partner had a beef burger and I had shepherds pie both around £18 each.
Now we don’t go out very often and we were more than happy to pay this price until it came out! We are not fussy and we do not like to complain like I said previously.
My partners burger looked so bland and anaemic, the presentation was so poor and it had no flavour whatsoever. My Shepards pie was much the same, it looked like £1 microwave meal with a side of peas. We were so disappointed we actually made a complaint, all they could offer us without a apology was 50% off our food bill. We still ended up paying £26 for the food we hardly ate! Now i would say a meal at Wetherspoon would be better quality than what we had that night.
The hotel it’s self was lovely but the attention to detail was poor.
Personally I would not stay here again and I definitely WILL not ever be eating in a Marco pierre white restaurant EVER again!

Hi, We have taken the time to read your detailed TripAdvisor regarding a recent stay and dining experience. All feedback here at Cadbury House is shared with the relevant departments for accurate responses, for our valued guests. Upon speaking with our Restaurant General Manger we can see that the 50% was indeed offer after your starters and mains were finished. We do try to rectify all situations when they are made aware to the team, and if they would have been aware during the meal we would of made it a priority to adjust the meal for you. We are looking into the comments regarding the confetti as this should not happen to a room that has not requested confetti. We have already begun the necessary steps with our housekeeping team for feedback. We would certainly hope that this experience is not your last at Cadbury House, and would be delighted to see you return again.

You be very lucky if they ever pick up the phone, i tried to order room service a few times and they never picked up. So had to go to reception. It’s the bad service which lets this hotel down massively! And in June, the pool had to be pre-booked we did this when we got to the hotel.
