We’ve been coming to Prested Hall for the past 3 months, once a week when our child is in childcare. It is simply our ‘slice of bliss’, a piece of luxury we look forward to and both benefit from mentally and physically.
The staff are ALL lovely, welcoming and have a sense of humour. Coffee is exceptional. Real beans and awesome coffee cups/mugs.
Prested Hall have spent a lot of money on good quality gym equipment. We are both personal trainers so can appreciate the efforts they have gone too. We always have a great session here, the lighting is nice and the cleanliness is spot on.
The Sauna is HOT and perfect, steam room is equally as good. Pool is a decent size, calm and peaceful. The chlorine levels are not high which I personally love. Changing rooms are massive, free hairdryers and they still provide bags for your wet swimmers.
We’ve treated ourselves twice to a half spa day which includes two treatments. Paula and Lily are truly exceptional and it’s obvious they are very experienced and knowledgeable. Sam falls asleep and I’m able to fall into deep relaxation resetting ourselves ready for the grind of life :-) The ladies go above and beyond to ensure we have a great time and even recommended products that might help our sons eczema.
The only thing I would improve on is the floor tiling in the changing rooms. It reminds me of going to the swimming baths in the 90’s! It’s dated but clean. It would be a huge task for Prested Hall as the changing rooms are MASSIVE. But it would really improve the feel of the spa.
Overall we are excited to have found Prested Hall and travel 20 minutes every week to enjoy our day with them. Keep doing what your doing guys!

This is a personal, personable business whose USP may well be in weddings, but their strength is in providing a genuine service.
This was booked as a short break, at very short notice. We selected it against other chain, modern or larger hotels based on what we saw on the web. Swimming pool, spa, tennis courts, we opted for a superior double and the rate was more than those choices we had discarded.
What a result that turned out to be.
The room was spacious, extremely large bathroom, and lacking nothing that we required. The quality of the in room tea/coffee stated the intentions of the hotel in striving to be that much more for their clients. The wi fi worked all around the hotel. Breakfast was ordered the night before and either served to your room or in a small, well appointed dining room. Excellent choice of menu, all was served to you by staff who were not intrusive, always giving the impression that they wanted to serve you and never in a hurry to get rid of you. As a wedding venue, photo opportunities in grounds superbly maintained, the house has a library (with DVDs and a viewing TV,) a bar, and comfortable seating around. Ample parking, the Pool/spa is about 200m from the hotel.
It is an old building, so no air conditioning but windows opened brought in that freshness and coolness that you cannot pay too much money for. Finally, the food in the dining room Is generous in portions but priced sensibly. The wine choice is good and again, priced that you might order an extra bottle. We did!
We used it as a base for visiting parts of Essex that deserve attention rather than distance. TOWIE country maybe, but this hotel is an oasis of quality, comfort, excellent food and staff who will go that extra mile without seeking anything but your enjoyment.
Going back, you bet we are…………

We got married here over the June Bank Holiday weekend, and the venue was absolutely amazing. To start with the venue has some nice large open grounds with a nice pond and a picturesque bridge over it. The main building has multiple rooms where our guests could break into smaller groups, allowing our older guests to have a quieter space away from the dance floor in the evening. The venue also includes 14 rooms and 6 apartments, so there was plenty of options for our guests to stay overnight. The staff here are also wonderful. We worked with Gemma, our events manager, helping us arrange our wedding from day one, making sure we hadn’t forgotten anything and helping us get everything perfect for the big day. She was brilliant, and really helped us with our planning to get the day the way we really wanted it. On the day of the wedding, the staff all helped set up everything for us, so we didn’t have to do a thing. Throughout the day they made sure we were all ok, and took very good care of us. They even took down all our decorations ready for us to check out the following morning. As for food, we purposely didn’t want any fancy food for our wedding breakfast, so we opted for simple BBQ food, and it was lovely. Our guests thought the evening food was great as well (we were too busy to actually get any), but the dessert wall was amazing! We highly recommend that. We also popped up to the venue over the course of the year, whilst planning the wedding, and had afternoon tea and a three-course meal. Even not on our wedding day the food was still amazing. Overall, the venue and the staff helped make our day unforgettable, and we highly recommend them to any other couples looking to get married there.

Joined over 2 years ago as its my local gym. Left after a year as was getting fed up with the poor facilities. Joined a gym 15 miles away, was £15 a month cheaper but had all the same facilities and in much better condition and more modern. Re joined Prested again this year as it is very local for me and in the hope things had been updated, sadly not. Showers are more often cold than hot and old fashioned, changing room floors always soaking wet, clothes lockers very small and temperamental, thats probably why theres always clothes laying on the side when you go in there, cardio equipment dated and often malfunctions, wifi drops out frequently. Would love to say something positive but cant think of anything. For £50 a month there are many other gyms out there a lot cheaper and with more volume of eqipment more modern than here. Very very expensive. The gym is clearly jusy a bolt on for cash for them and not something thier very interested in. Will ride the month out and go back to travelling 15 miles to the gym instead of this one. Do your homework before you join.

Visited this place for my partners friends wedding been before so didn't have high expectations ,but what you do expect is a smidge of decency on someone's wedding day . Arrived in the middle of a storm no signs pointing to the wedding let alone any lights find the entrance full of guests crammed in a small corridor that is being used as the bar manned by a single overwhelmed lady My partner finds a colleague who explains the whole day at the venue was a S...t Show No staff no table cloths caterers 5 hours late delivering the wedding breakfast that arrives cold and a bride left in a distressed state overall a rubbish night at a rubbish venue ,if you have any sensed avoid this dump the owner Mike is like Sweeny Todd nice to your face takes ya money and will cut your throat

My wife and I recently got married here and we could not have asked for a better day. Dan, Kathryn and the staff there were amazing at making sure our day ran smoothly even with the rain forecast. Throughout the planning process they were very helpful and every request we asked they made happen. Our family and friends were so impressed with the staff at Prested Hall and have all commented on how beautiful the venue looked and how wonderful the day was. They all enjoyed the wedding breakfast as well as the buffet later on in the day. We stayed overnight and the rooms were very spacious, beds were comfortable and many people were impressed with the facilities in their rooms. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Thank you again for making our wedding so special from start to finish! C&T Cripps

We were given a nights stay in Prested Hall as a fortieth birthday present from friends. Knowing nothing about the place we checked out the website, however the pictures didn't do it justice. The building is beautiful and set in rolling grounds with a small waterway running through it. The are rooms up stairs in this listed building, but we were lucky enough to stay in a self contained lodge on the grounds, (I suspect an old chapel) which was beautiful, with parquet flooring, his and hers sinks and mega comfy bed. We had a great night in the restaurant ( Reasonable prices, good quality fayre and a great cheap wine list) and drinks in the hotel bar until late (Residents bar until later that can be charged to the room). There is also a pool, bar, spa, sauna and gym on site that we used the next day before leaving which was a lovely end to the trip. What made the trip extra special though were the amazingly helpful staff. From changing our original dates due to covid for no extra cost, to sending over honestly the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel (And I've stayed in many) to our room last minute, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed there on the 9th April and the receptionist (I did ask her name but it's taken me so long to write this I've forgotten) was amazing and dealt with our request with professionalism and a genuine care. In the restaurant Natasha deserves a special mention for the way she dealt with our mild complaint about the cooking of my partners steak with tack and class. I rarely write reviews, but felt the extra mile the staff at Prested Hall went, coupled with its reasonably priced luxury and proximity to London really deserved a mention. Go check out this hidden Gem and its top staff.

On Friday 7th October 2022, we got married at Prested Hall which is something I wasn't 100% sure I would be able to say this time a couple of weeks ago. As a couple of recent reviews have suggested, Prested Hall had to close due to a new management company taking over. Although we may have had a couple of doubts, the communication from Jatin could not have been more consistent. We were the first wedding under the new management company. We saw lots of familiar faces who welcomed us with open arms like the family atmosphere Prested has always shown us and I can honestly say, I felt like I was at home. The day could not have gone better and had exceeded all we hoped it could be. The care taken to help make our day run smoothly, the service we recieved and the food was outstanding.
So thank you to all at Prested Hall for making the most special day of our lives, perfect. A MASSIVE shout out to Karen and Mark for helping us through the last few weeks in the lead up to our wedding and being absolutely fantastic on the day. They were there to lend a helping hand with checking all of our stuff in and nothing seemed to be a bother - it genuinely felt like we became a part of their family. All the servers were gracious and helpful but George, you were amazing! All of our guests said the food was wonderful and those who stayed said their rooms were amazing and breakfast the following day was very welcome.
Thank you again, for everything Prested Hall!

Signed up to Trip Advisor specifically to write this review in the hopes it saves someone else the awful experience we had. Pre-covid the place was nice and well run, but in December 24 we took c. 20 people there for our work Christmas party.
The Xmas event we signed up to had halved in size by the time the event came around, so we felt the atmosphere to be lacking. The staff (not many of them to be seen) were quite friendly but seemed like they had very little experience of actually laying on events; the food was below par; the rooms were in varying states of disrepair (ranging from filthy (including dead and live flies) to broken (hot water not working, pipe leaks, furniture on its last legs) - so bad one couple couldnt bear to stay the night. We all had to check out extra early the next morning to accommodate the wedding occurring that day - I just have every sympathy for the poor bride and groom who I assume a similar ordeal to us.
Our most recent follow up email to the venue (including photos/evidence) has been ignored despite chasing.

After a stressful few weeks for our friends following announcement of the hotel being closed I am very happy to report that the hotel opened and held their wedding yesterday. Karen, Mark and many of the staff were back including the superb chefs. There is such loyalty amongst the staff and it was noticeable they were happy to be back.
The Event was very well organised , the food generous, freshly cooked and delicious. My plate was a bit cold as we were the last table to be served during the wedding reception but it was warmed up without question and the sea bass was fresh and delicious. and the accommodation very comfortable. The beds and linen amazing… Breakfast also very good with lovely bacon and lots of varieties of tiptree jam :-)
The management were there from early morning until the end of the evening disco. They were also present the afternoon before when we finally got a chance to have a wedding rehearsal. I was playing violin for this so was glad of the opportunity to time the entrances of the bridal party
The hotel was open to wedding guests only both staying and those in accommodation nearby so the atmosphere was very much like a country house party.
Sadly I never had time to try out the spa!
Finally, the owner was constantly in touch with our friends during the closure period reassuring that a lot was happening behind the scenes and that the wedding would go ahead and I am so happy for everyone involved that it did.
Well done Prested Hall!

The ground are extensive, so good to walk. You could walk into Kelvedon/Feering, simple walk but nothing too exciting. If you want to leave the grounds and go elsewhere you will need to drive. Just look at the area on G- maps and you will get an idea.
Hi, Apologies for the delay. The above advisors are correct, we don't have a lift but we do have one ground floor room, which is described as an accessible room, with special adaptations. Do please give us a call on 01376 573300 if you require any further information.
Best wishes
