Cascina Serra is located on the top of Rovere's hill in Langhe area, 20 km from Alba. The structure offers 7 apartments/room each one with a private terrace with furniture. The common garden has swimming pool, BBQ, tables and deckchairs. Every apartments has its own private entrance and car parking. During your stay is possible to do a free tour in the vineyard and in the cellar to understand how wine is traditionally made from grape to bottling. At the end of the visit is offered a glass of wine. Cascina Serra is ideal for nature lover or for who decides to run away from the city for a rustic holiday.

I visited Cascina Serra with my wife and 6 month old daughter. Our stay was very relaxing and peaceful make and was made even lovelier by our hosts and their warm hospitality. We stayed in apartment Vigna Nuova and thought it perfect for our needs and excellent value. It has everything you need to look after yourself including an excellent kitchen but I thoroughly recommend allowing at least one night to enjoy Christina's cooking which is delicious, as is the wine. The journey from the main town is a little adventure and after you have done it once, it is easy enough. I was sad to leave this little oasis

This is the real Piemontese deal, which means you are in the middle of the vineyards, at least 2km away from Cossano Belbo and Mango, the two closest villages. Bear in mind that you will have to take the route from Cossano or from Mango to get there. Those last 15 minutes of road will be tough if you dont know the region. My suggestion is to get there from Mango, as it is a lot easier. Make sure you get there early, at least the first time you go, so that you have plenty of sunlight. The route from Cossano is more complicated. I would not suggest to take it as the arrival route the first time you go there, specially if arriving at night. I'd suggest that Cristina places a few more banners in the route so as to re-assure the drivers that they are on the right way. The property is fine, there is a swimming pool which I did not find of great use, the rooms are OK. Breakfast is OK as well. I think that for being at the heart of Piemont, they could have nicer/more varied breakfast... It would give a great plus to an otherwise standard accommodation. They only accept cash, so keep this in mind when going there. Cristina is a great host, very familiar and welcoming. She speaks Italian and German... some English as well. Overall we were satisfied.…

From the first moment we felt very welcome! A warm welcome, everything clean, a welcome drink and information about the area. If desired you can have a delicious diner for little money: Cristina is an excellent cook and Carlo makes (on its own organic vineyard) delicious and very affordable wines! The apartments are excellently furnished, the view is fantastic and the the quiet surroundings, beneficial. Highly recommended, Cristina and Carlo: thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed 30 Jun to 7 Jul 2012 and had a very pleasant stay with a very warm welcome. We had much appreciated help with places to visit and when to visit them. We loved the apartment and the surroundings are beautiful! In the middle of Piemontes wine country. Cascina Serra is a typical Italian Agriturismo. It is set high up on a ridge within the rolling vine-terraced hills. This is a place to come to to unwind and relax. Whilst the accommodation is basic it is actually very clean and with its solid stone walls is very rustic. Cascina Serra is a wine-producing farm and the owners, Christina and her husband and son, Tomaso will take you on a mini tour of the vineyards and show you the various grape varieties they grow and how they produce their wine - of which you will sample and can purchase. You reach Cascina Serra by a long and windy road that clings to the side of the valley - challenging but exciting and wonderfully picturesque. The area's economy is wine production and therefore presents a treasure trail for serious wine lovers. Nearby are towns of Alba and Asti - all full of history and worth a visit. For me though the place simply provides peace and quietude and I recommend it for those who want a relaxing time.…
