We booked this for a last minute break at the end of September and are so glad we did. We booked with 2 days notice and from start to finish the break was excellent. As the accommodation was not booked the night before we arrived Martin said we could arrive anytime after 12 which was much appreciated. We had time to settle in then had a lovely walk at Flamborough Head. The accommodation is really comfortable, lovely fluffy towels, nice lounge with an endless supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. We slept well as the beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were superb. The accommodation is really quiet and has a lovely little courtyard. Martin had good ideas for walking and a couple of good parking tips. The weather was mixed but this did not deter us as we had come prepared for walking in all weathers. The icing on the cake was one of the seals we saw at Filey Brigg. It was a few feet away from us on the rock and kept us entertained with it's antics. The local pub, The White Horse does good reasonably priced meals. This accommodation was perfect for us, a cross between a cottage and a B&B. We usually stay in a cottage but never use the kitchen facilities! Thanks Martin, When we return to the area in the future we will definitely be staying with you.

Thank you for your great review. I do try to look after my guests as I would like to be looked after, including cooking a great breakfast to set them up for the day whether they are bird watching or walking. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us, see you both again soon.

I cannot recommend Martin highly enough. The Stables are absolutely immaculate, comfortable and cosy. As for the full English breakfast - out of this world! I chose the Stables for a surprise mini holiday for my wife and myself based on their location and on the excellent reviews of others. They were more than justified. We had a wonderful time visiting the RSPB reserve and had fabulous views of all the cliff nesting seabirds, in particular puffins, a bird particularly special for my wife. In addition to Martin's warm and friendly welcome, I would also like to add Ray and Jackie, who were equally engaging when I popped into the shop. Our experience was just fabulous and thank you to you all. We shall definitely be back!

This is a lovely little place in a courtyard off the main road, so very quiet and private. I traveled to Bempton on the train with the goal of visiting the RSPB reserve. The B&B is within walking distance of the station, even towing luggage. Martin met me at the station, though, because it was raining. The accommodation is across the courtyard from the conservatory where breakfast is served, so you have your own little private oasis. The door opens into a sitting area with a sofa and TV, with the bedroom off one end and the bath off the other. It was so nice to be able to collapse after my trans-Atlantic flight and train trip from Heathrow. The bedroom has 2 twin beds, with cozy duvets and good pillows. The window is small and has a good shade, so no annoying light intrusion when you are trying to sleep. The sitting area is very bright, but also curtained for privacy. There is free wifi, a bit weak but certainly functional enough for my requirements. Martin recommended the White Horse for evening meals, which were quite good both nights I was there. I had a bit of confusion about breakfast time the first day, and arrived at 9 rather than 8, but Martin very graciously made me an enormous full English, which was delicious and plenty to keep me going the entire day, as I walked to the Cliffs and back (spent about 7 hours round trip). I would absolutely come again. This is an IDEAL place for the traveling birder visiting Bempton and the surrounding area. I only wish I had more time . . .

We stayed here for two nights, it's so close to Bempton Cliffs (the reason for our trip) that an enthusiastic walker could do it or as we did an early start ensures you a car parking space at the newly opened visitor centre. The accomodation is clean and spacious, even having space to sit relax and watch the TV after a big day sight seeing. The shower looked brand new, there is ample tea & coffee and the beds are very comfortable. As happens in Yorkshire it was hot through to cold over our two days, a heater is provided and the bathroom has a very efficient wall heater to make an early morning shower much more pleasant. Breakfast is HUGE if you take advantage of everything offered, I stuck to just the full English which was delicious. Martin is an excellent host even finding some sun lotion for my husband when the Yorkshire sun outdid itself and blazed for the morning. A great base for seeing the sights of Bempton and the surrondings
