We are Americans who stayed in 4 different 5-star luxury hotels during our 17 day trip to the UK countryside, and Gravetye Manor stood out as providing the most exceptionally beautiful and romantic setting and perfect service. From the moment we entered the property and were greeted by a valet who immediatley helped with our luggage, to the end of our stay when our final bill was easily appropriately reconciled and our abundant luggage was taken back to our vehicle , we felt welcomed, pampered, relaxed, and catered to, but without arrogance or pretense. The grounds are enchanting (this would make a great wedding venue) , and there are woodland walks to nearby areas of interest with helpful written instructions provided by the inn. The kitchen makes good use of Gravetye's extensive garden products, which are incorporated into the luxury multi-course tasting menu as well as breakfast fruit offerings. "Izzy" at reception went out of her way to accomodate us on a short notice massage request provided by "Luuby" personnel who came to the site to do in-room massage. All the staff were friendly and helpful and not a single one was surly or unprofessional. Our "Pear" suite was spacious and comfortable, with a free-standing copper-coated bathtub with smooth comfortable edges, abundant soft towels and robes, and beautifully scented and gentle toiletries. This is an exceptional luxury inn, very close to London and London Heathrow, worth every penny it commands. We will make a point of returning here when we are back in the London area, and will also refer friends.

This is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. The manor is absolutely stunning to begin with, with ample space to relax. The room was bright and equally stunning. Comfortable beds, incredible amenities and picturesque scenes from every window. The experience you have is incredibly personal, and the staff are some of the best I have ever experienced in luxury travel. Incredibly attentive, informative and go above and beyond. The food is in a league all on its own. The chef is clearly passionate about good fresh food, and that passion was evident in every single dish. The bar is lovely with a good selection of cocktails and drinks to choose from. The gardens and surrounding space are incredibly serene, and I challenge you not to feel relaxed. We did not want to leave, and wanted to take all the staff home with us! Thank you Gravetye for an amazing weekend.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Gravetye. I can only afford to eat her once a year, but it really is the highlight! Never fail to be given the warmest of welcomes from all staff, particularly the wonderfully friendly doormen. From start to finish they make the highest level of service seem effortless, which I can imagine actually takes a lot of effort!
The building and dining room are a wonderful contrast of traditional and modern that is brought together by spotless service and precise cooking from George Blogg and his team. Whilst the menu says lunch is three course there are intermediate courses before each dish which really adds to the seasonality and unexpected flavours and techniques. There is a very extensive wine list that caters for all tastes and budgets. My one gripe is being charged for tea and coffee after lunch or dinner but I really don’t care, they could throw me out the window and the food would make it worth it!
Please go here, you will never ever regret it

Our Christmas present to each other was a night away, with dinner and breakfast, at Gravetye Manor. Friends had visited, and on the strength of their comments, we decided to treat ourselves. When people speak so highly of a place, it’s easy for it not to live up to expectations. So, I was hoping that we would not be disappointed when we visited last Thursday. On pulling into the carpark, our first impression was very favourable, and things just got better from then on. We were greeted in the carpark, shown to reception and our cases were taken. Reception staff were lovely, check in swift and we were shown our room. Our room was upgraded, and when we saw where we would be staying, we couldn’t stop smiling. Our accommodation exceeded all our expectations. Before dinner we enjoyed a cocktail each in the bar, and were then shown to our table in the dining room. It’s misleading when you read that you will be served a three course dinner. We each chose our three courses, and even before we received our starter, three very tasty dishes, along with a selection of bread and butter, were brought to our table. Another tasty morsel appeared before our mains arrived, and another before our desert. Each dish was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful, and the wines the Sommelier chose for us complimented the dishes perfectly. After the meal we were shown to a small lounge where coffee and petit fours were waiting for us. The perfect end to a wonderful meal. After a comfortable night’s sleep we enjoyed a very tasty breakfast, overlooking the lovely garden. The whole experience was a wonderful treat, all the staff were great, and we hope to return very soon. Thanks to all.

The hotel provides first class luxury accommodation in spacious lounges and bedrooms. There is a warm and pleasant welcome by the parking attendant who has been briefed on one's name and takes the cases directly to the bedroom. Aperitifs can be taken in the hall in front of a tasty log fire. The Michelin rosetted chef delivers fabulous food without it being presented too preciously and it is served in the glass walled restaurant with views over the magnificent garden, especially lovely in the morning light. There is nothing not to like. The staff are well trained, with just the right balance of formality and friendliness. A great place

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night 23-24/12/23. The initial welcome from the porters and reception was warm and friendly which set the tone for all the staff we encountered during our stay. We arrived early so that we could have a light lunch prior to our evening meal, not expecting to be able to check in then. However, we were shown to our room as it was ready, which was a lovely touch. OMG, the room was absolutely stunning, with a real Christmas tree and beautiful views of the gardens. I had asked for a quiet room with no overhead noise as I am especially sensitive to it. I couldn't hear a pin drop. Our lunch of crab & avocado sandwiches was delicious. We then had a walk around the historic gardens to work up an appetite for our evening meal with an interlude of mulled wine and mince pies sat around the open fire. The evening meal was sublime, course after course of complete gorgeousness in the most stylish of settings. Breakfast the following morning was just as good. This was our first Christmas in our retirement so we really wanted to end the year on a high. Gravetye Manor exceeded our expectations in every way and we would like to thank every one for making the experience so special.

Absolutely sublime! We were politely welcomed and shown to a perfect table with crisp white linen, stylish ceramics and a beautiful outlook over the stunning herbaceous garden. All the staff were smart, efficient and friendly, I went with my husband, we are both vegetarian, and sadly more often than not get a scathing reception and a sad offering of porridge like mushroom risotto as the only veggie option. At Gravetye there is a dedicated veggie menu with 2 options ( we ordered one of each to try both) in every course. In all we had 7 different plates, canapes, an amouse bouche, a starter an interim dish, main course, desert and coffee with petits fours. Every plate was presented as a work of art with so much care and attention to detail, and every flavour was fantastic , fresh, original and a delight on the palate I would like to add that we are foodies, I trained as a chef at Leiths in London, and have cooked for many celebrities in my career. Thank you for looking after us and making our day so special! Also a special mention for the gardeners who work so hard to maintain the beautiful grounds and gardens .

Gravetye Manor is our absolute favourite hotel in the UK. From the moment we were greeted at the car till we left, we were made to feel so welcome. This was our third visit, and we’re booked for our fourth. The Oak Room, whilst on the small side, had everything we needed including a fridge and tea making facilities in a little cupboard, with freshly made shortbread too. The gardens Re the standout reason for visiting Grvetye, they are just exquisite. Although the hotel is always fully booked, there is plenty of space and we never felt crowded. The restaurant, with fully glass walls to make the most of the garden, is beautifully designed and decorated, and the food is simply sublime. I believe the hotel is child free which adds to the peaceful, calm atmosphere. Highly recommended

This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Every conceivable aspect of a guest's experience has been considered and catered for. Everyone was warm, friendly and welcoming. No stuffiness or pretension, just great service.
The garden is absolutely stunning and a credit to the team that looks after it. Fresh flowers from the garden would appear each day in the most beautiful displays. Our only regret is that we didn't schedule more time to spend idling in the garden as there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the view whilst enjoying a drink (or more) from the cocktail bar.
We had dinner on our first evening and it was heavenly. We were fortunate enough to have a table looking directly onto the beautiful garden. The food was amazing, most of it from the garden. There is also an extensive wine menu with many English wines to choose from. The sommelier was very knowledgeable in helping us choose a wine that would complement our food choices.
Breakfast was always a pleasurable experience. For those with larger appetites than us, there was the option of a starter and a main course. We couldn't manage two courses but what we did have was excellent.
Our room was beautifully furnished, the bed very comfortable and we had lovely Noble Isles toiletries in the bathroom. We really appreciated the fact that everything in the room was complementary, so a big thumbs up for no hidden charges.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gravetye Manor to anyone.

Dinner was fantastic, not only did everything taste amazing but the presentation was incredible, even down to the butter. Lovely wines, you could spend a lot of money but they also have very reasonably priced bottles as well. Service was professional but friendly. We were there on a Monday and the restaurant was perhaps 3/4 full so there was still a lovely atmosphere. One thing I particularly like is that there is no music in the dining room. The setting of the dining room is stunning, with massive glass frontage onto the beautiful gardens.
The room was very special, in the older part of the hotel and therefore fully panelled, and had lovely views. The trade off of being in the older part of the hotel though was that the soundproofing wasn't great and there was quite a loud couple nextdoor, and the bathroom was a bit small with an over-bath shower.
Service throughout is delightful - the porter was expecting us and addressed us by name (they had asked for an approximate arrival time), there was a warm "welcome back" from reception and all other staff we came across were friendly.
Gardens are wonderful even in the depths of winter.
One request - please lose the rather heavy jazz in the bar, it's just awful.

Unfortunately No, but having said that I managed and I am an old man and we were on the second floor which actually was not too bad. That is the top floor too, so not a tall building.
