Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

the welcome at, both, the reception and the bar is great. a fabulous place to own a parkhome van. the views over the 'Flashes' is amazing. the other owners are friendly and the nearness to all the local amenities makes it an ideal place to live. the site has free wifi as well.

A real gem, our holiday has been great. The caravan and all the park facilities are clean tidy and very well kept. The clubhouse and bar are top notch. The staff are extremely helpful.
There is absolutely nothing to find fault with here , thanks for a great stay.

we stayed in a hire static, and it was spotless, heated and comfy , i would not hesitate to recommend it. however the approach road is a seriously pot holed track at best, i would guess the farm adjacent maybe owns the access and does nothing to improve it??. the site itself is really hilly just to bear in mind if mobility is an issue. great staff, the nearest town a mile or so away has sadly been "flattened and modernised" in the 80's to a concrete shopping centre, yuk, such is life folks, but dont plan a visit, just buy food and go. nice pub/eateries within a few miles. so make this a base to travel and you will benefit from a lovely site with great lake views and a generally lovely area.

Just spent a week at Thornley Leisure Lakeside Caravan Park in Winsford, Cheshire.

Firstly, the road down to the site is classed as unadopted, I think ?, and it shows, not the most comfy of rides, several potholes and troughs.

The appeal of the site is the location, good for visiting places around Cheshire and the lake on site.

The boat moorings around the lake look unsightly, there are several boats that have sunk and are just lying in the water, which doesn't look attractive.
The boat jetties look as though they are about to collapse, rotten at the base.

The path around the lake is in need of repair, full of potholes, no good if you have a disabled person with you if you need to feed the ducks or swans.

On a positive note, the residents and staff are very friendly, the childrens play area and the guest clubhouse were nice, we enjoyed visiting several places of interest including Northwich and Nantwich.

Hired a two bedroom static caravan at Lakeside for a long weekend in August for two adult and two children. Lovely modern caravan, well equipped and presented. Reasonable price, £285 for 3 nights. Great views of the lake from all areas of the park. duck and geese on the lake and walkway along part of the lake side. Pub on site though we did't use it. Small play area for children at rear of pub. Very hilly site may be problematic for those with mobility issues though not for us. Caravans are very close together with just enough room to squeeze your car into the driveway. Free wifi available though the code is changed without notice. A few minutes to drive into WInsford for supermarket, takeaways etc. Approx 30 minutes drive into Chester and Chester Zoo. Would recommend to others looking for a quiet break in Cheshire.

The caravan site is over looking the wide part of the River Weaver. The site club is good. Only downside is the road leading to the park, it is very bump and full of pot holes. The holes are filled sometimes, but due to it being a gravel road, they soon appear again.

Not matter the weather the views are gorgeous but when the sun shines its Cheshires paradise. Peaceful and tranquil, a place to get away from it all, yet only 20 mins from the m6 junc 18. Coming from Stoke it's a great getaway, and less than 40 minutes away by car! A real hidden gem.

Stayed here in a hire caravan in May, lovely caravan with views of lake, only downside to park was lack of bins, you do have to walk to near reception or exit barrier and slide the access doors over on the blue bins. It is hilly, only one car can be allowed in by a fob access barrier. The track down to the park doesn't seem to belong to anyone or business, take your time going down!! The pub on site is small and staff friendly just remember to take your visitor card from welcome pack. Would like to stay here again, been to winsford so many times living in northwich (having work done at home) & didn't know this was here!! Perfect base.

Hi, when booking a caravan, can you fish on the lake?

Yes, as far as I know it's included with your booking as long as you have a valid fishing licence.

Peaceful, I don't think you will be disappointed if you visit. You may see a few well behaved supervised children there but its lovely n peaceful n family like, just nice, and definitely not a kiddies theme park. great views of the lake. Enjoy.
