The hostess was a funny, friendly character who catered for our every need. The view from the room was incredible and sitting outside watching the sunset made for a beautiful, relaxing evening. After a great nights sleep the breakfast was delicious. A stay over experience unlike any other. It’s like staying at a friends house, that you hadn’t met yet.
I have never before felt sad on leaving a B and B but I wanted to stay for much longer, if not forever! If you are looking for a modern, all-furniture-matching B and B with all the frills, this is not for you; instead it offer quirkiness, charm, a fabulous view and a wonderful host. There are hens pecking in the yard outside, the dogs will greet you enthusiastically, and there are an eclectic mix of wall hangings and vintage furniture. I loved my room even though it didn’t overlook the front, I appreciated the wide choice of teas, and I found I could be myself - come down to breakfast without shoes. Romay is an amazing host - fun, interesting, intelligent ( and that is not meant to sound patronising) and a mine of information. I wanted her as my friend but probably so does everyone who goes there. Breakfast was perfect - a delicious fruit salad and yogurt, nicely done scrambled eggs, tomatoes and bacon. Thank you, Romay.…
We had such a good time at the Netherton farm. Romay is an amazing host and creates a laid back atmosphere, where it is easy to feel at ease and just relax. The house is beautiful, in wonderful surroundings with a nice view. The breakfast is amazing with local and fresh products. The rooms are comfortable and, maybe this is a bit random, but the shower has a good water pressure and flow (which we found weirdly hard to find during our Scotland trip). As dog lovers, we particularly enjoyed the 2 lovely dogs who are always available for a cuddle if you want one. I hope we will be back.
Since we arrived we realize that is Haven :) ,great for a Inverness weekend ,Host is incredibly nice ,selected breakfast . Great place for children and pets . Thank you for everything. We will return .
We did find by chance last room available at this b&b and we arrived a little bit late but we were warmly greeted by Maya in this beautiful place. I loved everything of this place. The wide collection of books, the great breakfast, the view from the window and the quite environment. Chapeau.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at Netherton Farm and we absolutely loved our time there. Netherton Farm is friendly, comfortable, casual, and welcoming. It’s not fancy nor pretentious so if a kitten attacking your ankles or a well behaved black lab walking through the breakfast area is going to bother you don’t stay here but if you like animals and appreciate a very comfy and clean farmhouse atmosphere you’ll love it. We did! Romay’s Scottish breakfasts were fabulous and the views both morning and evening are spectacular! The location is ideal for visiting Inverness or touring the Black Isle and various other attractions and Romay provides great suggestions and guidance. Really can’t say enough good things, our stay was ideal.
Lovely house and lovely location. Owner knocked on my door at 6.50am because my 2 year old boy was up and awake and making some noise (not crying just up and talking). She wasn’t long in apologising after I informed her that her member of staff was up until 3am playing call of duty. The room next door also complained about the member of staff down stairs. The owners dogs were still barking at 22:15. Average breakfast. Lovely clean house. Best not go if you’ve a child under 5 or big appetite.
This home is full of warmth and charm. The owner made sure all our needs were met and was always smiling. Our rooms were neat clean and charming. Breakfast could not have been better. The location is picturesque and the view from the dining area will encourage you to linger. I can highly recommend Netherton Farm
Was travelling up to play Royal Dornoch and decided to stay the night at Netherton Farm. We were made to feel extremely welcome on arrival, and enjoyed sitting by the fire prior to heading off to bed. When we woke up in the morning, we were blown away by the stunning view, and then again by breakfast. It was easily the best breakfast I have ever had on my travels. The whole offering was incredible. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Lovely position - though our room did not overlook the Firth. Very warm and wet welcome from the owner and her 3 dogs. Refreshments usually found in room are in the corridor.Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a fresh fruit salad as well as the usual Scottish Breakfast. Pleasant drives around Black Island
