After staying 2 nights in August and not particularly liking the food, we decided to give it another try as it is set in beautiful surroundings. Room very clean but let down by cheap and hard toilet paper. Breakfast was spoilt with hard, cardboard like cornflakes. Poached egg on toast with beans and mushrooms was very poorly presented, one morning,... More

Our room was over looking the moors great views, hotel is so clean, food was amazing and the breakfast was lovely the next morning even with a hangover. Staying again for the Gothic weekends in April and November 2017 rooms are already booked. Staff are lovely and so friendly couldn't do enough for you. It is a diamond of a... More

stayed at the fox & hounds and really enjoyed a quiet relaxing 2 days. Great food, reasonably priced decent value B&B. Small room, with great views, everything on hand, however we felt that the hosts could have been a little more attentive to us both on arrival, and throughout our stay.

Had a 3 night stay at this great location. Rooms are not large but adequate. Our room had a wonderful view over the hills. Luckily the weather was good so we took advantage of one of the many walks in and around the North Yorkshire moors. The hotel/pub itself is very charming, full of character and full of people. The... We (my parents & I) dined here last Friday night after we arrived to stay in Danby for the weekend. The place was busy as we expected, but they got us a table with no fuss at all. The waitress who took our orders was very charming and very efficient. The food was excellent, the beer was very nice too.... More

This was a 2night stay at a fabulous pub/restaurant. The accommodation was very comfortable and we had a lovely view of the moors opposite. We ate in both evenings and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend this Inn. Will definitely use it again if we are in... More

A short walk from Danby station and set in the heart of the North York Moors this is a great base for walking, train trips (NYMR is in Gosforth) and for access to some beautiful coastlines. Plenty of places for local walks with the dog (morning and evening), but watch out for the roaming sheep. The Pub is comfortable, friendly... More

Stayed three nights. Very welcoming. Room clean, if a little small but only slept in it. Good location for walking and coastal visits. Food good too, especially full English breakfast. Gets busy early evening with locals which must be a testament to the food, beer and friendliness.

My Wife and I stayed 3 nights on a B&B basis. Great location for walking the moors and not using the car. We had a twin room which met our requirements. Had an evening meal everyday, and the choice was ample. Standard of food was very good. Good choice of beer and wine. Special mention has to be made for... More
