Very comfortable room & ensuite. Very helpful, friendly hosts with good local knowledge. The room & garden have fabulous views of loch and hills. The fall colours were superb. Location very handy to Skye & surrounds while being quiet & relaxed.

Mike and Peta, the delightful owners/hosts, open their magnificent waterfront home to guests and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have been guided here by a dear friend. Everything about Otterburn House is wonderful. We spent three nights here but would have been happy with an entire week...or more! The lochside setting is dreamy. The kindness and attention from Mike and Peta is exemplary and memorable. Their personally-prepared breakfasts are delicious. And the location is a fine base for exploration of the Isle of Skye which is suprisingly large. At this time, Mike and Peta, do not use any online booking services other than their own website. Even so, booking dates fill up far in advance. Plan your visit or driving tour of Scotland around their availability and you won't regret it. Our stay at Otterburn House was one of the highlights of our three week tour of Scotland. And while staying here, ask them about having a meal at the Glenelg Inn. Their venison pie meal for two was nothing short of amazing.…

Hi Thank you for the very kind and detailed review. We do try to make sure every guest enjoys their stay at Otterburn and visits as many places as possible. You have made some good points for other travellers as to where to eat, but remember to say to people to book in advance, as places to eat can be hard to find, especially during the busy summer months. We hope you will visit again one day. Best wishes Mike & Peta

I stayed at this amazing B&B for one night with my husband and brother and sister in law from Australia. Its the best B&B we have ever stayed in! The house itself is lovely. The rooms are spotlessly clean and beds and pillows are lovely and comfortable and the bedding felt lovely too. The breakfast room was amazing in the conservatory overlooking their lovely garden that leads down to the edge of the loch. The views over the loch and surrounding mountains are fantastic. Its simply an amazing place to stay :-) The owners Mike & Peta were wonderful hosts and so welcoming. They could not do enough to help us find lovely places to eat and visit and also tell us all about the wildlife to be seen around the garden and loch. Breakfast was fantastic. A great choice of everything you could think of and all fresh and good quality. The cooked breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. Enjoyed by all. As a surprise gift to us our family bought us a gift voucher for us to return there for a 3 nights stay, as they knew how much we loved it there. We very much look forward to our return visit :-) …

We spent one night here ahead of a hike in the Cuillin Mountains - what a lovely place to stay! Beautiful setting, a homely clean house with comfortable beds and Peta and Mike were really friendly, welcoming hosts. They were also very accommodating for our early morning start and made sure we had everything we needed for breakfast. A definite favourite that we’ll be staying at again.

Beautiful house inside & out with lovely hosts! We really enjoyed chatting and watching the wildlife outside. We even got to see a pine marten! This is a great place to stay for those visiting Skye. Highly recommended and we would love to return ASAP.

Hello, Thank you for the lovely review, we agree with you, we are close to Skye so vising the Island is easy. You were also very lucky to see the Pine Martin, he is normally quite shy and cheeky! We enjoyed getting to know you, hopefully you will be back. Best wishes Mike & Peta

What a wonderful place to stay! We only stayed one night on our way into Skye but could have stayed much longer. This area is gorgeous and only a 5 minute drive to Eilean Donan Castle. The owners were so welcoming after our long drive and offered us a cup of tea. Their gorgeous backyard is on the loch, so whatever you do, spend some time there (yes, even if raining). So peaceful!

Wonderful house and hosts Michael and Peta who couldn't do enough for us. The gardens and Loch Duich seem to merge into one. Michael is a wealth of knowledge on the local wildlife. We spotted seals and dolphins from the garden while just relaxing. Great views of the mountains and the five sisters of Kintail from our bedroom windows. Great centre for touring all the local and nearby beauty spots like Skye, Inverewe gardens, and Eileen Donnan Castle, Then relax with a quiet drink in the gardens. Kintail Lodge is only five minutes away for a goo.d evening meal.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip! We originally booked it because it was a good halfway point between Portree and Inverness to spend the night, but after seeing Otterburn we wished we were staying longer--the beautiful location is a worthy vacation destination spot of its own accord! It's a beautiful home with amazingly kind and friendly hosts, located on the most picturesque edge of a loch with mountain views. As the hosts showed us, there are dolphins and otters and more living in the loch. You can walk along the beach or sit at their backyard tables enjoying the views of the loch. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Our room had a functional TV which had netflix, which was nice to wind down to at the end of the night. The bathroom was stocked with all the necessities. The room also had coffee, snacks, and a hair dryer which I used and appreciated! Overall a great stay, I would definitely return again and stay longer!…

Peta and Michael are such wonderful hosts . We really felt very welcomed into their home. The yards and flowers are just stunning not to mention the view from the backyard of the loch and mountains. Our room was spotlessly clean and very spacious! Thank you so much Peta for supplying us with a hair straightener!!! You thought of everything we might need when coming from a different country. Breakfast was delicious with very generous servings. One of the highlights of our trip was driving our first single track road and taking the ferry to Skye! We loved it and those ferry dogs are so cute !! So happy you suggested we go that way . If you decide to come to Canada , stay in touch with us ! Thanks so much .
