Returned from a fantastic relaxing time staying in Axe Lodge. Caroline and family are so welcoming and will do all they can to ensure your stay is a good one without imposing on your privacy. Axe Lodge is ideally situated right next to the dog walking field and woodland walk. The deck provides a lovely secure area to sit out with the dogs and watch the free roaming chickens. Inside is all that is required for a comfortable stay. Both myself and the dogs were well catered for. They enjoyed their special treats. All the arrangements were covid safe and the pool booking was very efficient. I would definitely recommend lancombe if you want a relaxing comfortable break in the beautiful Dorset countryside.

The cottage (Cerne) was really comfortable with all the facilities one would expect. We were all made welcome ( dogs too. with a welcome pack of treats etc.) on our arrival. Beautiful setting in the glorious Dorset countryside. Great dog walk on site and a secure rear garden area. Plenty of information about the amenities and a guide to activities, walks, pubs, beaches etc. provided well before arrival so we were well prepared. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely stay here again.

This was my 5th visit to location and 2nd time staying in Bride Cottage, previously staying in Axe Lodge. The location is peaceful, ideal to relax and chill out. Caroline and staff are friendly and very welcoming, always willing to help. The facilities there are excellent, Cottages have everything you need.

We book two cottages Asker and Frome cottage to house two families in September we had a lovely time and was ideal for my dad who recently was in hospital with heart problem and was 84 yrs and loved the break after what he has been through recently. The cottages were ideal for what we wanted, and enjoyed our daily visit from the chickens that Rome free. We had a BBQ one evening however it got dark quite quick but enjoyed just being a family again after lockdown. We visited many places during our stay Weymouth, The Swanery, The Tank Museum, Egyptian Museum, The Nothe Fort, Chesil Beach, Forde Abbey house and gardens which was beautiful. We cooked most evenings which is rare for us on a holiday as we tend to eat out every night. Made a change to cook for family. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you and very helpful . Thank you for loaning us the BBQ equipment. Recommend the eggs and breakfast and meat packs very good value. Overall I would rate this as very good place to stay with family couples and children. We would definitely return when we are next down in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay Paula and Nick and family

This was our third stay at Lancombe Cottages. We are working our way around the Lodges and Cottages to see which we like best. Caroline and her team always do thier best to make you welcome and have an enjoyable, comfortable stay. The cottages are well presented even though some of her usual dressing has been removed due to Covid. The new games room was a nice surprise, and we will be back to use the Pizza oven when it is finished. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay making most of the good weather to see local places of interest, and having locally sourced food. We will be back.
