I stayed at the Swinton park estate for a night as a luxury spa retreat. Lets start of with the good points: Amazing scenery Great Room & Bathroom Lovely spa and absolutely amazing massage Beautiful interior and stately rooms Very good Afternoon tea And now the reason for 3 stars:* After such a wonderful experience me and my partner went to dine at the new modern restaurant the food was okay right up until the point where i found a hair in my food. I told the waiter and he didn't really say anything and nothing was done. This just left me feeling quite sad about the whole dining experience. Would i stay here again ? Possibly...i'd go back for the spa alone but would stay away from the food. *i felt bad for leaving 3 stars so updated it to 4

Could not fault a thing. Despite covid our stay was amazing. The hotel and staff were following covid standards. We had the Howarth room. Perfect view over the open fields. Walk in wardrobe, nice size room and the perfect bath with floor mood lighting. My husband booked champagne afternoon tea for the afternoon of arrival and requested that 1 of them be gluten free (for me) the rest of our stay the staff said ‘one of you are gluten free’ not once did I have to mention it to them. The food was amazing. I am picky with food but I tried everything and it all tasted amazing. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help. The concierge was happy to show us where things were even the spa which was a short walk outside in the rain. They had also placed gluten free triple chocolate cookies in the room. The grounds despite a full days rain the day before were perfect to walk around and a lovely surprise of the falconry in the garden. We are ready to book our next visit. Possibly for our wedding anniversary if we can’t travel abroad.

We came for a one night stay and loved the place. The Spa and pool are top quality and the food and service brilliant. Did an 8 mile walk in the estate and it is stunning. Lots to see and do and we did not get time to fit it all in.

We love Swinton and have stayed there twice. Most recently for my birthday which included a chefs table. The spa is absolutely incredible and the dining rooms are the reason we keep returning. Set in a magical grounds this is the perfect Christmas retreat.

I found Swinton Estate via an internet search and fell in love with the hotel immediately. I had been looking for a venue offering an elopement package and the "Just For Two" package was incredibly good value. The hotel looked spectacular with all its Christmas trees and decorations. The estate is beautiful and we enjoyed a long walk to look around the lakes, the hundreds of deer and the Birds Of Prey centre. There are so many locations for wonderful wedding photographs. The food was great, with a large varied food and drinks menu in The Terrace restaurant. The staff were very friendly, particularly Gay who served us for breakfast each day and remembered what we liked to order - she even waved us off when we checked out. The spa, pool and treatment rooms were clean and luxurious, I would recommend a massage. The rooms are all uniquely different (even having Christmas wreaths on the bedroom doors), however they all share one thing...HEAT! For people like me, who are always cold, this is perfect. It is easily sorted however, by opening some windows and switching off the radiators. There is a large car park and the EV charger was available and working during our stay. Rosie and Johanna on the events team were super helpful with arranging dates and creating our perfect day. Unfortunately we arrived late to check in, however Rosie managed to move back our couples massage so we could still visit the spa. We were greeted with a glass of fizz and our bags were taken to our room. The hotel is obviously operating differently due to the COVID pandemic, although everywhere felt clean, the staff all wore masks and even the reception desk had a plastic barrier around it. The social distancing actually enhanced our wedding as we were able to have our ceremony in the slightly larger Panelled Room and our wedding breakfast in the Private Dining Room. The hotel allowed us to bring in our own decor for the wedding but did provide us with chair covers and a sound system. There were so many little personal touches, little chocolates and biscuits in the bedrooms and even a Christmas Welcome card! A huge thankyou to Swinton Park for making my wedding day so magical and special. For anyone researching Swinton for a wedding, this venue will definitely meet your requirements! We hope to visit again for our 1st wedding anniversary.
