We visited for lunch with four friends and service and food were outstanding. It was very busy and the whole amosphere was relaxing, warm a nd very comfortable. Although it took us over two hours to get there, it was worth the journey, and would like to return.

Luxurious and relaxing. Comfortable and spacious bedroom and bathroom with lake views; afternoon tea in front of a roaring fire, with newspapers. We dined in the restaurant, although the food was of excellent quality we felt slightly let down - nothing stood out as "you must try me" and the cheese board didn't feel as "interesting" as previously. We are...

Back again for a little pampering, the coda to a wonderful holiday. We have been before and we had high expectations. And it was almost all we expected. Our welcome, the room, afternoon tea on the terrace: as usual, it's like staying at a very comfortable home with attentive hosts. Predinner drinks on the terrace as the sun set, the...

A treat for my dad's birthday visiting from Wales could not have been better. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel special, nothing was too much trouble. The service was simply exceptional with knowledgable sommelier helping with the choice of wine to accompany our meal. The cosy fire in the lounge with coffee and chocolates completed an...

Finding the perfect hotel for a one night stay for my wife's birthday is not easy at a weekend but since I wanted 3 double rooms for our family, Hambleton Hall happily disregarded the two nights rule, put us all next to each other (lovely rooms overlooking Rutland water: stunning) and what a joy it was. Aperitifs in front of...

We booked in for this offer to celebrate my husband's birthday. The very personal service made us feel special from the moment we arrived, my husband was wished happy birthday by several members of staff. We chose to have a drink in the bar first, a glass of wine at £8 and a sparkling water at just short of £2,...

We came back to Hambleton for lunch with friends, 6 months after our marriage at the hotel. The quietly luxurious surroundings, unobtrusive service, superb food, and excellent selection of even the more modestly priced wines left us in no doubt that we shall return again and again.

On a gloomy November day what better way to escape than to travel to Hambleton for a business lunch with a great group of people. Always difficult to choose from some fantastic choices on the menu but can honestly say the Wild mushroom risotto with Tarragon was a starter to die for. This was followed by Merryfield Farm Duck, Seville...

We were staying in a cottage in the village and decided to go all out for dinner. Hambleton Hall matches great food with attentive yet unobtrusive service. We were treated well by every member of staff, the surroundings were traditional and tasteful, the cooking was inventive and full of great flavours. A fine experience from start to finish.

We had seen this impressive looking building while walking in this area a year ago so when we were looking for somewhere special to spend an anniversary this hotel came to mind. The bedroom and ensuite were excellent with a lovely comfy bed and deep bath. The staff were friendly and helpful, the lake views from the room and terrace...
