Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently camped here for 2 nights. The pitch we were given was spacious and the whole site appeared well looked after. The shower / toilet block was kept clean (even though there was a large group of school children camping at the time) so all credit to the cleaners!
We cannot comment on the bar / restaurant, as every time we walked over it was closed and there wasn't any details of opening times anywhere. Luckily we had brought our own supplies - it would have been very disappointing if we had been relying on eating/drinking there.
Overall, a lovely peaceful site, we will happily return.

Lovely campsite, good walks and facilities, shame the pub on site is overpriced, poor selection of food, most lunchtimes staff seemed reluctant to even serve food/snacks Menu on website is out of date.

The only downside is that when busy at peak times last weekend, feral kids ran amok, teenagers jumping on the tractor slide for toddlers, parents stood watching cans of beer in hands, some campers litter strewn around there tents, and oh the disgraceful way some people left the showers and the toilets.

The wardens and cleaning staff are lovely and do an amazing job to keep the grounds and facilities clean despite feral kids and adults using them

We’ve just come back from a week’s stay here.

Positives:
The site is large and well kept, there were plenty of bins around and it was really clean.
There were three outdoor play parks that my daughter loved.
The soft play inside was a bonus for rainy days (this is £2 per child for the full day)
There is a pool table, ping pong table and foosball inside.
We stayed in a camping pod and it was nice and warm in there, we didn’t need to use the heater that was supplied either.
The staff were all lovely and polite.
The pub on site was fab, the takeaway pizzas were fantastic
The main toilet/shower blocks were large and really clean.
My daughter attended the Dance Pirate entertainment and she loved this.

Negatives:
The toilet blocks nearest to the pods are unisex, which we personally found to be a little bit awkward.
It is a bit of trek from the pods to the car park (you can’t physically get your car near the pod) so when it was time to pack up we had to make several long trips back and forth with our gear.
There is some damp growing inside the pods
I’ve been bitten numerous times by some sort of insects and the pod was full of spiders.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at wood house farm and we will definitely be returning, but with our tent this time!

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at woodhouse farm in our tent. Took my mum and 3 kids for the weekend to check it out as it's only an hour away from us.
The site is quite large with plenty of space on the playing field for the kids to play but I felt the pitches were too close together and you basically couldn't have a conversation without your neighbour's hearing every word.

There is a couple of parks for the kids but, like a previous review had stated, they left the kids absolutely filthy. Black stains over all their clothes and skin!
On top of that most of the kids playing there weren't friendly and on a few occasions caught other children either shouting at or pulling my kids around by their clothes! Not a good start!
To be honest, nobody there seemed very friendly at all, we've stayed at numerous campsites all over the country and never encountered such an unfriendly atmosphere. No one smiled or said good morning for the 3 and half days we were there.

Also, hardly any of the people staying there had any camping etiquette! A few times people taking their kids to the toilet would walk between my car which was parked right outside our tent, and the entrance to our tent! Thought it was abit rude as normally campers understand that your pitch is pretty much like your garden and I personally wouldn't dream of invading somebodys space while there sat in their tent having a glass of wine!

In fact I actually had to move my car so close to the tent it was nearly touching the guy lines just to deter people from walking through!!

If your thinking of a few nights away and a nice lie in on a morning you can forget it!! We were woken both mornings at 6am by kids in the tents surrounding us screaming and crying or other families shouting to eachother so loud! We've come home absolutely shattered.

While we were there we didn't see one warden patrolling to make sure everyone is behaving as they should and I think personally this is something that should be mandatory as it would stop people playing loud music until 12am like they did while we were there.

The toilets and shower block wasn't the cleanest or most inviting I've seen but I think this is generally down to the people that use them rather than the cleaning staff.

All in all I think it could be a nice place but is mainly spoilt by the type of people it attracts.

Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Our first and probably only visit to Woodhouse farm, first instance, were the narrow lanes for access, with few passing places, made for some, awkward moments, for both caravan outfits & motor homes.
Site office and booking in was straight forward, and staff pleasant to deal with, however, no choice of pitch, you get a pitch number, and that's that.
Now the downsides, the electric supply for the hook up, is pathetic, one of the worst in more than Ten years of caravaning & motor homing, after it tripped for the tenth time, I got fed up of walking over the wet muddy grass, to re set it, so I switched to gas for everything but the TV!
Drinking water taps, seem to be in short supply, and the worst part, is thay are all situated about 3-4 metre from the road or path, so it means trudging through grass and mud to fill up, which means you get it all over your shoes, and your water hog, which means that you transfer it all over your awning or caravan floor, why for heavens sake, can't they put a few flags down to avoid this? The same, also applies to the Grey water points, which are even rarer, than the drinking water, and the cassette disposal, take your wellies!
The scenary is no doubt beautiful, however the nearest shopping centre is in Ripon, about 6 miles away, so bear that in mind motor homers, because the camp shop is very basic, and I mean basic.
In conclusion, Woodhouse farm in site terms, is fairly expensive, so our expectations, were fairly high, but for us, it was disappointing that, the basics things that are required on a site, such as a, shop, decent power supply, an accessible water and waste facilities are somewhat lacking.

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend in August 2021 in a touring caravan.

Check in was speedy, staff were efficient and friendly, however once we had got to our pitch and tried to hook up we realised someone else had a lead in our allocated power socket. I went back to reception to advise and was told some one would come sort it out. We waited two hours and no one came. I went back to reception and was again told someone would come, no one did.
In the end I just unplugged the cable and plugged ours in as we had a fridge full of food which was going warm. I traced the cable all the way to the non electric field where it was attached to a splitter. I took this heavy lead to reception and advised what I had done. Staff looked at me bewildered and so I had to ask them where should I put it. No-one replied so I dumped it on the floor and left the office/shop.

Didn’t deal with the reception staff after that so just enjoyed our time visiting local attractions.

Looked into booking for the august BH 2022 but they had doubled the price and wanted it all paid upfront (rather than just a deposit upfront). We booked elsewhere instead.

Site was nice and green and the two play areas were looked after. On-site pub was a bit lack lustre and every time we tried to order food to takeaway we were told it was an hour to wait or they had a limited menu. Couldn’t book a table either as all full. Granted this was post COVID but the site just didn’t seem prepared for the number of guests it had.

We stayed for 3 nights, wish it was longer. The site is amazing, well laid out, all the facilities were extremely clean. The pub/restaurant is excellent, great hosts, great food and very dog friendly, plenty of walks and dog waste bins.

Even other visitors were very friendly and chatty.
Can't wait to come back and explore more!.
Have you considered providing a boot wash/dog washing/bike cleaning area? Just a thought 🤔

We stayed in the week leading up to Jubilee and stayed in their family pod. The campsite is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The pod was clean, spacious and the picnic bench outside was brilliant. Although it would benefit from an umbrella or something to protect you from the rain. All the facilities are conveniently placed and well maintained. The indoor play area is perfect and we found the older children very friendly to our two young children. There are also plenty of outdoor play areas as well. There is an on site pub, much like the shop and reception do not expect a warm welcome. The staff seem irritated by your presence and everything feels like it's too much trouble. We also had a visitor who said they were treated rather rudely! I would not recommend the pub for food, it is overpriced and not good food. The pub also has very weird opening times and is often unavailable for lunches. The shop is not well stocked with food, so make sure to bring plenty of your own. Stick to a bbq or visiting the local villages for lunches etc. In summary, its a lovely place to visit and perfect spot for visiting the local attractions. Just let down by poor food and unwelcoming staff.

Visited this site for many years and it just keeps getting better & better each year, returned the first weekend it was open after lockdown and booked for another 5 weekends already. On returning this time found a new BMX track in the woods for the kids which they love .The fishing lake was also doing well . This site could be so much bigger but the owners choose to keep it with plenty of fields for the kids to play which is perfect, visited rudding park last weekend and it’s not a patch on this place . Brimham rocks & Bolton Abbey are places well worth a visit, Bolton abbey is about 30 min drive but a good day out.
