As other reviewers here said, one could like or not this hotel. I liked it. First of all, for its isolation - I think it's very rare to find a secluded hotel on the Bulgarian seaside, which is rather crowded. The rooms are decently furnished, but some more apparel could be useful in the apartments. The view is stunning, especially from the giant living of the apartments, with glass wall. The cook has good and bad days, like everybody, but the friendly atmosphere, the nice music and the reasonable prices made us eat here the most of the time. The hotel's beach is small, a little pebbly, but very romantic. The staff is exactly how it should be: useful and discrete, even if they don't speak English (excepting the waiter, a joyful young man who made our stay more pleasant). Very clean at arrival, little issues after. Very quiet. I think that, if you are in a positive mood, it's an ideal place to spend a holiday.

Looked forward to this visit with great expectations but was slightly disappointed. The hotel is well positioned overlooking a very secluded beach you do need your own transport as that's it a hotel and beach for a couple of kilometres. The hotel is spotlessly clean with pleasant helpful friendly staff and owners. We booked a deluxe suite which had a fabulous view but the furnishings are rather tired. From the description it was supposed to be well equipped with kitchen facilities a flat screen TV toiletries etc No kettle toaster microwave with limited cutlery and crockery and cooking utensils but we did have a dish washer? The toiletries consisted of two bottles of shampoo and two bars of soap no bathrobes the flat screen TV was a very early model with limited stations and which would not allow my laptop to link. Breakfast was part buffet part set and very limited. We did like the hotel for it's peace and quite and space. However be warned if you have mobility problems there are no lifts the beach is quite a clime on very uneven stairs and paths No English menus staff owners did not speak English. Over priced

The hotel is situated in a brilliant location, on a headland, over looking the Black Sea. For those who want peace and quite this is the place to go. No loud music, no discos, no drunks. The building is well designed, white on white on white. Modern furniture all good quality, and bedrooms well appointed. Close by a reasonably private beach, with lifeguards. however, if you have difficulty walking it would be appropriate to take a walking stick. Breakfasts were buffet style, adequate, but, not inspiring. The menu was very limited, nothing fancy. We had an apartment, fitted kitchen, spa bath in the bathroom, which was well used to iron out the kinks of walking up from the beach. In general a good hotel, would certainly return.

I don't think this hotel could be improved if you like peace and quiet, a fabulous view and great customer service. This is the second time we've stayed here - me, my husband, our adult daughter and her boyfriend - and we've loved it both times. We've stayed in the family room at the very top (room 314 I think) and it's out of this world. One lovely clean cool double bedroom, a great bathroom with a brilliant jacuzzi bath but best of all a massive lounge / second bedroom with a vast glass wall and balcony overlooking the beach and the sea. Fabulous! As well as the great accommodation, the staff are lovely and couldn't do enough to make us welcome. We arrived late (owing to hideous delays at the Turkish / Bulgarian border) but they kept the kitchen open for us and even made us something we fancied that wasn't on the menu! The beach is clean, safe and peaceful and is so quiet it feels like a private one. After an unpleasant experience at an overpriced and badly run hotel elsewhere the night before, it was heaven to get back to Bulgarian hospitality and prices!

Great staff, loved the (almost) private beach, great clean room. A little far from services and stores (we did not have a car) and the breakfast was average. Would return in a minute for a quiet getaway with awesome sea views.

We are here now, as of Aug. 13, 2012. I've read previous reviews; they *are* correct, but... First of all, Romance *is* different. It's not a common place, which tries to fit every requirement of anyone. I'll try to separate pros and contras. Contra: you are isolated form the world around. The place is really secluded and removed from the places of public entertainment. If you want discos, karaoke, seething life - this place is not for you. Pro: If you have worked hard working year along, you are tired of people, of communications, of noise - it's for you. Romance posesses a chambered, quiet, almost a family environment. No disco, but classic music evenings in a hall. Contra: if you enjoy a crowded sandy beach, you'd better choose another place (though, you have Corall beach in 10 minutes walking at south and Kiten beach in 10 minutes walking at north). Pro: hotel beach is 1:1 sand and stones/pebbles. Even when the sea is choppy water is very clear and transparent. There are very few people on the beach, naturists can feel safe - nobody takes care of your naked body. With regard to rooms, service, personnel, room purity - there aren'y any "contras". Really it's **** hotel, not ***. But real contra: cuisine is not that brilliant. But pro: we arrived here with a car, so as soon as we decided to dine elsewhere - we either went dining (after staying on the beach fron 7:00 until about 15:00) by car to where we want - Nessebar? Burgas? Resovo? Sozopol? no problem; or we went to Kiten by feet (15-20 minutes) and had a dinner there. So, your decision depends on you requirements and preferences. For me and my wife, Romance is THE place to be.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for just over a week. It is in an amazing location at the top of a cliff and right near it's own beach. The views from the room are perfect. I do agree with previous review, that this hotel is far out from the town (about half an hour walk), however that is what we wanted and expected. Being away from the souvenir shops and street sellers was refreshing and exactly what we wanted. It is a perfect location for exploring the black sea coast on foot or bike. Kiten is only half an hour walk away, where you can get various buses to various locations and find lots of restaurants and bars. On most days we had the pool to ourselves, however the staff did not bother us or invade in our privacy. The rooms are really clean and have good facilities. I used the internet every day with no problems, both in my room and by the pool. It is true that the TV does not have many channels, but with the view you have I think watching the TV is not something you will be doing much of! Lastly the staff at the hotel are amazing, they were always there to give advice when we needed it and went out of their way to learn English in order to have a better conversation with us. The only issue with the hotel is the food. It is not very good, unless you order the dish of the day which is quite tasty. Breakfast does get a bit monotonous, however there is always fresh fruit and yogurt, if you don't fancy the egg!

Hotel Romance is located on a small rocky cape between the beaches of Kiten and Lozenets. The location means that most rooms have great sea view. It also means it's equally far from beaches, restaurants, stores, everything. This wouldn't be much of a problem if they had a nice restaurant, which they don't. Staff is polite and nice, they work perhaps more than 16h/day, but the result could be better. Rooms are big, with nice beds, pillows, and big bathrooms with nice sinks. Some things in our room were not well maintained - the blinds were broken, one of the lights, the Internet wasn't good, and the TV did not have usable TV channels. If you pick hotel Romance for your vacation: - The best beach nearby is at Camping South (Yug) near Lozenetz. It's ~15-20 minutes by foot or 5 minutes with a car. There is a small beach right below the hotel, which is not good and I'd suggest you skip it. - Don't go there without a car. You wouldn't be able to escape from the "Continental Breakfast" - It's targeted as a place for couples, but most guests are families with small children. It makes the experience for people without kids a bit annoying. - Don't use the hotel's restaurant. You can try the breakfast, but you'll be disappointed every time you see the sad boiled egg and tiny quarter of a hot-dog in your almost empty plate. I could've given a better rating than 3/5, but I wouldn't. What we got was much more expensive than everything in this area I've ever tried. For a rating higher than 3 they must hire a cook, find better supplier, and perhaps reconsider the prices.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Romance in a one bed apartment which had a lovely Jacuzzi bath, balcony over looking the sea and a really nicely furnished (and massive) lounge, and of course a bedroom too! (oh and guest loo not that we had a any guests). The lady who ran the hotel was lovely as was her husband and all of the other staff. It's in a great location overlooking a small, quiet beach which is great for swimming. We had a hire car so this served as a good base for exploring the other little towns close by (Kiten, Primorsko, Tsarevo). I would say that it might be a bit tougher without a hire car, although you can walk over the beaches and cliffs (about 15 mins) to other beach bars and hotel resorts with tennis, wind surfing etc. My only criticism is that the food wasn't very good and certainly over priced when compared to some of the other amazing food we ate in Bulgaria at half the price. So definitely stay here, but eat elsewhere.
