Detailed Reviews
A beautiful oasis above the village of Limni. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees extending into the forest on one side and stupendous view of the sea from the front. The room was excellent, the bed comfortable and a lovely balcony with far reaching views to the sea. From the moment we arrived with Amalia on the front step, her arms open in a welcome, we were looked after by her and her brother and advised where to visit. Delicious breakfast, with warm bread and a wonderful selection of home made jams, fruit and eggs.
We enjoyed tho pool and all the facilities were well looked after and very comfortable. It felt more like home and we loved the warmth of the owners and their dedication into making this a very special place.
We will definitely go back at some point and felt very lucky we found this hotel. Top marks,

We have just left Vateri and we have left with the best of impressions. The Guesthouse is remote, so you definitely need a car. Our room was very spacious, well lit, with a private balcony and easy access to both the pool and the restaurant area. Our hosts, Yiorgos and Amalia were both extremely polite and served us so well. They met all our needs and more. The grounds are rural and beautiful. The pool was clean and inviting. The whole area was tranquil and soothing to the soul. Breakfast was extremely satisfying and in compliance to Covid restrictions. For Dinner, they recommended a near by restaurant which was a great place to eat. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely and have decided to visit again in winter, as our room had a fireplace that we fould especially promising.

A beautiful, tranquil authentic Greek Guest House. So peaceful, with the best hosts. Fantastic pool, and breakfast, scenic views of the area. We will definitely come back. A car is necessary, but a very short drive from lots of beaches. Best accommodation in Limni. Large open, very clean rooms, older in style, but that's the appeal, the rooms stayed very cool in 40° heat, without the aircon on, that's provided. Pool is an amazing chill out space, that was never busy, in peak season. George & Effy thank you for an amazing holiday.

George was the kind of host you hope for. The first views of the home were breathtaking, and even more so once we stepped into our clean family quarters. Hot water for baths and showers was plentiful.
The cool mornings were a fairytale for our children exploring the grounds trying to cuddle the cats. Breakfast was delicious and fresh with jams, honey, bread, olives and fresh juice.
George even helped us find our relatives in town, which made our visit to Limni even more special.
Hands down, this location is a dream. We will be returning as soon as we can.
Thank you for everything George!

Imagine a remote, hilly landscape where you are at the top of the hill and have a view of the valley that ends at the sparkling blue sea. Imagine walking up to the beautiful villa and being greeted by a Greek man who loves his home as well as his guests. Then imagine his sister prepares delicious jams & bakes delicious breads pastries and serves them at breakfast! By the time you leave you’ll feel like you’ve found a long lost cousin in Greece. Bravo, George and Amalia.

We got married on the 5th of May 2 hours by car from Athens, Greece, at Limni town on Evia island. We booked the whole property - 8 rooms - so we could stay with our friends the weekend of our wedding. It was the best we could have done!
Vateri is an extraordinare hotel in the nature overlooking the sea and the sunset. With very tasty and huge rooms, traditionally furnished , with fireplace, all with private balconies, extremelly clean, some with separate sitting area and some of them with an upper floor with two extra sofa beds.
The breakfast time was our favourite, as it was rich, with all greek goods : bread, cheese, eggs, jams, homemade sweets, hymmie hot milk, coffee. Just delicious!
The living room is the heart of the hotel, we spent most of our time there relaxing, watching tv and movies, enjoying our coffee, a drink and the view.
But the most attractive fact is the couple that ownes and runs the hotel. Smiling, kind hospitally, always there and never to close!
Our marriage will remain always in our hearts, ours and our friends, and nothing would be the same without our stay at Vateri!

We were 6 travelers: couple, 2 kids, and 2 grandparents. A friend booked us here so we knew nothing about it. We arrived at night and were ushered into a gorgeous 2 br/ba loft-suite. The next morning, we were greeted by a stunning view of the strait. As we headed to breakfast, we found that the site had a lovely pool, a decent playground, and even a tennis court. The family running the property was really warm and helpful. They helped us do our laundry, provided extra cots, picked fresh figs for our breakfast, etc.
A few things to note: we had internet in the main house, not the annex.

For travellers to north Evia, the Vateri is an exellent place to stay: The hotel is simple and not luxurios but has a lot of charm. High above a hill overlooking the sea and the mountains the Vateri offers splendid views. To Limni it's a five minute drive.
We stayed in winter in one of the cosy suites that has a fire place. On request the host lights the fire which adds to the romantic appeal of the hotel.
The hosts Kiryos Yannis and Kirya Kati are very welcoming and do everything to make you feel at home. They don't speak english, though. The breakfast is simple but good with home made jams and marmelades.
Very recommendable for travellers who are looking for a simple but special place to stay.

limni is the closest 15 min on foot downhill and 3 min by car.
if you go on foot you have to consider the way back because it is uphill.
rovies is also 15 min by car.
