A stunning bed and breakfast in the heart of the Loire Valley. Le Chaton Rouge is in the centre of St Pierre du Lorouër, a small village between Tours and Le Mans. This beautifully renovated 18th century townhouse has 5 bedrooms, and combines classic French style with modern touches. A continental breakfast is included with your reservation, and upon prior request an evening meal can be prepared and served in the dedicated outdoor dining room. Le Chaton Rouge is a licensed premises so you can enjoy afternoon drinks on the sun loungers, aperitifs on the terrace and a bottle of regional wine with your meal. When not relaxing within the grounds of Le Chaton Rouge, there is plenty to enjoy including walking and cycling in the scenic countryside, horse riding, and mountain biking through the Forest of Bercé. Arrived at the B&B a few hours earlier, but it wasn't a problem for the lovely owners! They went out of their way to help us settle in. It was murdering hot but they instantly gave us icecold drinks, showed us to our room, let us put our bikes inside without us even asking. Kept asking if they could help us in any way while they were still preparing the B&B for other guests. They have a lovely garden where you can relax, enjoy the pool if you want to and have a look at the vegetable garden where you can see some of the ingredients that were used to deliver a delightfull meal later that evening. Lovely room with a decent shower and a lovely bed. We stayed in the Queen. A lovely breakfast in the morning. and even then they kept asking if we needed anything to use during our next bicycle trip. We even got 2 pain o chocolat to eat along the way. Lovely owners, lovely place. We're allready planning another trip where we can stop by and stay another night.

I just finished a small weekend trip for work and I have an amazing experience staying with Sarah and Lewis. From the very first night we were greeted with the most amazing homemade pizza. The following day Sarah made breakfast for us all and went out of her way to make sure we were all fed. The actual house is stunning and very very well designed. I LOVE the garden! Sarah and Lewis were amazing hosts. They went above and beyond many many times ensuring we were ok, taxis were booked, that we were fed well, slept ok and many other things. I not only enjoyed my stay there, I LOVED it and I WILL be back. I hope Sarah and Lewis start their mushroom picking tours soon as I will be back for that for sure!
I highly recommend staying with Sarah and Lewis. Amazing guests, food, homemade pizza's and pickles. It felt like a home from home!

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our France tour. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful trip. Sarah and Lewis were so welcoming from the moment we arrived. Drinks in the garden, a wonderful room with everything we could need. The location is perfect. Quiet but close to the hussle if needed. Not only are the hosts great and the accommodation top notch, their food was the best we’ve eaten in France. So local it came from their own garden. If you have the chance to eat here, do it!!! Will definitely be back and cannot recommend Le Chaton Rouge highly enough.

The lady of the house is simply charming and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our room was large, along with a fine bed. The ensuite 'wet-room' was a treat! We slept very well and that was followed by a delicious breakfast. The location is good, slightly off the beaten track, but perfectly easy to find. All in all a great stop-over and well worth the money. We'd stay again.

Sarah has teamed up with Fanny (chef from Hotel Citadel, La Belle Ile) organising various 'events' in her pop up restaurant in the courtyard dining room during December.
This was our second visit. Again superb food and attentive service in a characterful beautifully restored 'dependence' in her courtyard.
The 'moules' were large and succulent in Fanny's special sauce, served with frites which were absolutely delicious.
These events at the moment are only for December, but wouldn't hesitate in recommending the food at any time and the surroundings will always be as stunning.

I stayed at Le Chaton Rouge during the race week for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with my Wife and 15 month old baby. The B&B is conveniently located 40 mins from the circuit (handy tip - buy a 'Vert' parking pass as this avoids most of the circuit chaos on race days). The B&B was superb and could not be faulted, Sarah really looked after us, drinks upon arrival in the garden, evening meal as a take out from the local bar and super breakfasts every day. The room was lovely and spacious for all our stuff (inc. travel cot), there was even an offer of an adjoining room for our baby. We even had Sarah's evening meal on the Sunday night which was superb. Great host, great location, we loved it so much we've booked for next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

We stayed twice in one week at Le Chaton Rouge.Once on our way to St Emilion and then on our return journey. We were not disappointed!Sarah is an excellent host and an even better cook.
The rooms are spacious and very charming decor.Modern and strong showers in the rooms and the small suite in the attic was even more delightful.
She cooked us an excellent meal on the way down, and as we mentioned that it was our daughter`s birthday on our return with her,she made a point of choosing with us the menu, and baking a most wonderful cake.
Would have no hesitation in recommending.

Finally managed to stay here and so glad we did. A wonderful place made extra special by the host Sarah. We had a meal in Sarah’s pop up restaurant and this was excellent too in a lovely dining room. So much food all of a high quality
The room was really pretty and overlooked the really quiet village square
Sheets and towels were so soft and fragrant and bed really comfortable
Can’t wait to visit next year.

We had dinner here last night, as a special get together with my daughter and her husband on my birthday. Absolutely faultless. I'm not a fish eater but Sarah sorted out an alternative starter for us which we all said was excellent, so tasty. The main course, duck with an oriental flavour, with a medley of vegetables, was so soft it melted in the mouth. Great cheese selection, mainly sourced from local suppliers, as was the wine, and Sarah produced a surprise birthday cake ordered by my wife. Lovely meal, great value and all accompanied by Sarah who is the epitome of first class customer care. We are already looking at booking our next visit here. Highly recommended.

My wife & I recently spent 3 nights here & loved it. Lovely rooms, a nice laid back feel to the place, beautifully served food & very pleasant staff who we found very helpful whenever approached. This was a bit of a last minute booking but it was absolutely top drawer & we are already planning another stay in 2016.
Many thanks to all who made it a great stay.
