Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This lodge is beautifully located and has everything you would need for a relaxing trip to the Highlands. It’s remote enough to switch off from the daily grind but in easy reach of Inverness, Loch Ness and lots of other smaller attractions.

My husband, Mum, Step-Dad and I visited this property the second week in September 2022. It is clean, private, has everything you need. The gardens are beautiful and well tended. The hosts do not bother you at all but you know they are at the end of the telephone should you need anything. The beds were so comfy that even Mum didn't have anything to moan about (she doesn't normally sleep well). Get booked and get enjoying Scotland.

This lodge is in a beautiful location, lovely and quiet but a five minute drive, 20 minute walk into the village of Munlochy which has a small Co-op and a pub/restaurant. Used the lodge as a base for exploring the Black Isle, Inverness and further afield to Skye and Eilean Donan. The lodge itself is spacious although has a cosy feel. The beds are super comfy and it was super clean on arrival. There is everything that you would need for a self catering holiday including a washing machine, basket, pegs and whirligig! The only minor mention is that the smoke alarmS downstairs are super sensitive and will are triggered by the heat from the toaster, oven, hoover and the breeze from open windows! Lovely week in a lovely house! Thank you

Fell in love with the place when it first showed up during my research for stays near Inverness. There were some issues we faced but the hosts (Jenny and Sebastian) were very prompt in addressing them to the best of their abilities. It was easy to find based on the directions provided by the hosts, and it was even better in person. Fantastic property with great views all around. The chalet is well furnished and well provided for with all amenities you may need. We loved eating breakfast on the picnic table in the garden. Nearest supermarket (a Coop) is only about 10-12 minutes drive away. But Black Isle Berries, where you can pick fresh fruit right off the trees yourself is even closer. Really regret not being able to meet Sebastian to thank him in person for the fantastic job he's done with the place. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in The Black Isle. Excellent quality accommodation. Clean, very comfortable, well equipped lodge. Only 20 minutes from Inverness yet rural enough to feel remote. The lodge is set in open fields with amazing views. The welcoming hosts are accessible should assistance be required. Beautiful garden, views and fantastic wood burner. Highly recommend - the sky at night from the Black Isle Lodge is extraordinary!

We rented the lodge for 4 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The kitchen is very well equipped and the place is spotless. The log burner in the sitting room was greatly appreciated as the evening turned chilly. A great base for exploring and within easy striking distance of Inverness. Very good value, highly recommended.

We visited with our grandchildren and were made very welcome by the owners. The Lodge is extremely well equipped with all the essentials and lots of extras to make the stay even more enjoyable. Beautiful location, great views and lots places to visit in the locality. Our grandchildren loved the freedom offered by the large garden well placed away from the road. Would highly recommend this Lodge.

Had a lovely relaxing, quiet week spent with the family. The lodge is very clean, spacious, has good WiFi and is well equipped. It has beautiful views across the countryside and it was lovely to sit outside and hear the birds singing, I was lucky enough to see a red kite fly past and various other birds of prey. It’s ideal location makes it great for exploring the Black Isle, Inverness and the rest of the Highlands. Jenny and Sebastian are great hosts making sure you have an enjoyable visit, would highly recommend and we will be returning some time in the future.

We loved our stay at Black Isle Lodge and cannot wait to return. From the warm welcome into a spotless, warm and cosy lodge right through to finding everything we needed on hand, this trip was a real success. There’s loads to do in the surrounding area, from wonderful walks in the woodlands close by to great places to visit. Just loved the gentle buzz of the forest and farmland coming to life each morning. Great stay. Sebastian and Jenny were always willing to help in any way they could and offer any advice etc. Great hosts!

The best house we've ever rented for holidays. We found everything we could need, the house was very clean and tidy, extremely peaceful, we spent here our best holidays ever. We'll surely go back as soon as we can again. Very close to Inverness, just 15 minutes drive, very close to plenty of walks, the perfect house we were looking for to rest. We loved it.
